I called Knapp's late Friday morning and James Knapp was able to come out on Saturday to take a look at our refrigerator. It had gone from being slightly off temperature in the freezer portion, to completely warming up in both sections. Unfortunately, it was the compressor that was broken. The cost of the repair would have been almost as much as purchasing a new refrigerator and we weren't that fond of our 10 year old 3 door refrigerator, so we decided not to have it fixed. We would definitely contact Knapp's in the future for appliance repair.

They never showed up - so we moved on to another company.

James communicated very well at every point in the process: he called back right away the first time I called, called the night before with the appointment window time as he said he would, and talked about what the problem was as he was figuring out. While the diagnosis turned out to be more complicated than initially thought, he was very flexible and diligent about figuring it out. He had to come back a few times because of needing to get a specific part and was easygoing with working around our schedule. He even let my little son watch the repair and explained to him what was going on! Fairly priced as well I'd say. We'd use him again.

James came out on 8/23 to find out why our dishwasher was making a loud, grinding noise when it was in the wash cycle. He immediately determined the cause, which he explained clearly to me. Then he ordered a part, and returned the next day to install it, which he did in under 30 minutes. He also cleaned a sensor that had become dirty and caused the dishwasher to run longer than necessary. Before he left, James offered some tips on how to keep our dishwasher running in good condition, which I appreciated. He was pleasant and congenial. I definitely will hire him again!

The repairs were done efficiently and economically, and all appliances are humming along perfectly. James shows up when he says, explains what he's doing, gives good estimates of costs, and looks for ways to keep the job as economical as possible (he finds older replacement parts if they exist anywhere). Previously, he repaired an ancient Jenn-air range for us, and we were impressed with his professionalism and expertise. We have recommended him to friends and family, and James is the first person we will call when we have any appliance repair needs.

One minute dryer was working, the next it would not start. Called Knapp's about 3:15pm expecting to be serviced the following day or even the following week. Spoke with James who said he could make it out the same day. Told him I had an obligation at 5:30pm and he said was more than willing to work around it. James called me back at 4:30pm to tell me he was on his way. Dryer fuse had burned out. Was replaced in a timely fashion. James shortened the dryer venting to maximize performance and hopefully prevent it from happening again. James was very friendly and even took time to pet my dog and throw her toy, which she was constantly bugging him with. Very professional. Left laundry room clean and tidy. Asked for vacuum to clean behind dryer for me. Was more than impressed with the response time and the finished product. Will be calling Knapp's for any appliance issues and installs in the future. Thank you for getting my dryer up and running again in less than 2 hours from the time it broke to the time it was fixed. I am amazed.

James Knapp was referred by an appliance store as an experienced repair person. When I called him, he answered the phone himself, listened to the description of the problem, and said it was a common problem with this brand of refrigerator, and he could fix it. He asked for us to remove all the food from the freezer, but we could leave the food in the refrigerator compartment, which we did the morning prior to his coming. We set a date for the appointment. He said he would call the evening before and gives a time window for the repair, which he did. He then called before coming to the house and said he would be there in about 30 minutes, and arrived then. He introduced himself, came in with his tool bag, I showed him the kitchen and refrigerator, and then he told me what he would do, which was to remove the lower section of the freezer section (front and back) to access the problem area. I watched the repair in progress, where he went right to a rubber valve that was plugged, removed it, then removed the ice that was plugging the drain with boiling water, he also showed me the problem area to satisfy my curiosity, and then put the refrigerator back together. He cleaned up after the work. I would highly recommend him for appliance repair. We had two other repair persons to the house and they could not fix it.

THEY WERE VERY PROMPT AND QUICK TO GET STARTED. HE DISASSEMBLED THE DRYER AND VERY QUICKLY ASSESSED AND DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. HE WAS ABLE TO REPAIR THE ISSUE VERY QUICKLY AND HAD SEVERAL GREAT TIPS TO PREVENT THIS IN THE FUTURE.

I don't know about you but it's intimidating to call someone to come to your home when you have know idea who this person is. BUT after just a few minutes I realize James was the guy to fix my appliances problems. He is a very professional and honest man. He gets right to the problem and doesn't dilly dally. When i first called him he actually asked me to check my breakers just incase it might be that so I wouldn't need him. Saving me money!! When does that ever happen!!! I just need to say call James if you ever need a repair on your appliances.

We just moved into our house that we bought and we managed to get a good deal on some used appliances. Unfortunately our washer would make a horrible screeching sound anytime we tried to do a load. Knapp's service was prompt to diagnose the problem and fixed it the very next day. Very fair prices, super friendly and sociable, awesome and timely work done, I will definitely use Knapp's for any appliance issues that I may have in the future!
