First Choice Movers

They were scheduled to arrive between 1 and 3 on Friday. At around 3 they called and said they couldn't make it an rescheduled for Saturday. When they came on Saturday one of the crew complained and lectured me about liability issues throughout the move, He also told me it would be impossible to get my couch out the door and he didn't have the time to work with it any further. I suggested taking the door off the hinges (!) and it did fit through. Finally at the end he tried to charge me for time they weren't there. The other crew member was very nice and the owner was apologetic, but the move was unnecessarily long and extra stressful.

They arrived an hour late (due in large part to the unusually inclement weather, and they need to protect the belongings of their earlier job). The reason for the lateness is understandable, but they didn't call to let us know until a half-hour after their appointment. Once they arrived, they were great. Two men worked for 4 hours without a break, took steps to protect doors, floors, and our belongings. Everything was well packed. Nothing was damaged in the move. All our belongings were delivered to the desired rooms at the house (we marked the boxes and gave verbal guidance).

Service prompt and complete. I was dissatisfied with the three hour minimum limit which was not discussed with me in advance. The phone message on the answering machine did not describe a 3 hr minimum. Had I known about this, I would have come up with more for them to do when they were at my home. Additionally, I was charged a 3.5% increase to charges for using my credit card. This was not discussed with me in advance either. I could have paid by check or cash had I known about this fee. I expressed disappointment to the owner about these two issues and gave him the feedback that I would like to use them again, but they need to communicate these two issues more clearly up front. The owner did not offer any remediation of these two issues. The movers were courteous and professional. I did not feel the owner was sympathetic to my complaints.

Zach and Isaiah (movers from the company) met us at the house. They were promptly waiting for us when we arrived. They were courteous and extremely quick on their feet. They took only one short break, despite the huge amount of work they were doing. They took care in moving things (ie. padding entry walls) and nothing was broken! I cannot say enough good things about these two men. They deserve a raise! Thank you both for your work. I highly recommend this company and will always use them if I need anything moved.

The movers showed up within their window. They worked extremely hard, and were very fast about getting things done. They could have been a slight bit more cautious about moving certain items, but I haven't found anything damaged so that seems to have been a non-issue. Both guys were very helpful about making sure everything got into the right place, and took changes and expectations in stride.

Our two movers arrived on time and got the job started immediately. While they worked hard to move our belongings from point A to point B, our move day came with some challenges that included newly painted walls getting scuffed from a mover's studded belt, an antique armoire that got its corner damaged as it was being removed from the truck only to get gashed with white paint as it was being moved through the hallway. We also have to repair some damage made to a banister at our rental house which is 100 years old. In addition, the truck they sent with the movers was not big enough to handle all of our boxes and furniture in one trip, so we had to make two - which added to the total time of the move. We chose to go with First Choice Movers after reading so many great reviews about the level of service given to previous customers and wish we had gotten the same level of care, service and respect for our belongings. I hope that First Choice can come to the table with an offer to reimburse us for repairing damages made to our furniture and home.

The movers showed up on-time, worked hard & quickly, took good care not to damage our items and were careful not to track dirt into the old and new houses. It took a total of 4 hrs at a rate of $85 / hr to move all of our items. We were pleased with the movers but did not appreciate the additional 3.5% fee for using credit card. This additional fee is listed on the invoice but it is not reflected in the total amount on the invoice nor was it disclosed by the mover at the time of payment. I contacted the company after receiving my credit card statement and they offered an apology but no reimbursement.

Zach and Craig did a great job! They called to let us know that they were coming. They were on time. They were very careful with the furniture and boxes. They were very patient because they had to pick up items from two locations and move them to another apartment. They wrapped at the furniture carefully. They brought all the items in and waited while furniture placement was decided. They had to move some items again when the original placement idea needed to be changed. They were pleasant and easy going and they worked steadily. It took over 3 hours total.

Two movers worked hard and efficiently for approximately 5.25 hours. They did a good job. Would use them again.

Spoke to Phil a number of times to coordinate our move, as we had changed our plans and schedule. He was very courteous and professional and I felt like he was genuinely concerned about our situation. The two movers arrived within the time frame that Phil described. I was amazed at how quickly they moved us. We hired movers a year ago out of the Oregonian. They were paid hourly and spent a lot of time goofing off, smoking, chatting. But these guys were all business! Very friendly, careful, etc. Everything you'd want. I definitely recommend them.

I called Phil at First Choice Movers because of the reviews on Angie's List. He was very nice and understanding when I explained the situation. I told him that I would have as many things boxed and labeled as I could and he said he would send his best guys. Shane and Ben arrived right on the dot at 9:00, and when I explained the situation to them they assured me that all would be fine. They worked very quickly and loaded everything with great care, and once at the new location unloaded everything and put things exactly as my brother wanted them. It went more smoothly than I could imagine. Thanks guys for a difficult job done superbly. I will certainly be calling First Choice Movers in the future when needed.

Two gentleman came out to move me, Eric and Mo. They were very responsive and called me ten minutes before they were suppose to be here to tell me they were going to be around five minutes late getting here. They got the work done in the time frame I needed it to be done in. They were good guys. They explained the insurance and paperwork to me and didn't charge me for the twenty minutes they spent going over all this with me. They were fast, prompt, very clear on what they expected and what I would expect from them. They worked hard, only took one break. I watched them pack and they were very careful. There was no damage to my goods. I would use them again if I could get the same two guys or least one of them.

The two movers arrived full of energy, humor and a positive outlook. They were extremely fast but careful with the items. When we arrived at my house they needed to move several older pieces out of my house to make room for the other furniture. They were inventive about getting a couch out of a narrow doorway and were extremely conscientious when putting my antique dresser back together. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

It went very smoothly. They took the extra time to ensure that no damage was done to the furniture.

We called First Choice at the last minute before a move. They were able to move us the next day. Eric and Ryan showed up on time and did an excellent job moving us. They were friendly and hard-working. Nothing was broken or scratched. We would definately recommend this company.

Beginning with our initial discussion with Phil Vaughan, we were extremely impressed the courteousness and professionalism displayed by every employee we dealt with. Phil provided us with a thorough briefing of what services the company provided, and gave us an estimate. He was very flexible and accommodating to our schedule, which greatly helped us out. The two moving company employees arrived on time, and expertly took apart furniture as needed, and loaded it onto the truck. They worked quickly and efficiently. Their work was of equal quality in unloading and setting up our furniture in the new home. Every piece of our furniture was handled with the utmost care, with absolutely no damage of any sort to anything. They accomplished everything in three hours, at a cost lower than anticipated. We would definitely use this company again, and highly recommend it to anyone needed moving services.

I spoke to Phillip on the phone and arranged for movers to come on a Friday as I had the day off and had more to do Saturday. He said two people would be there between 12:00 and 3:00pm. I arranged for a truck that I picked up at 11:00am on Friday, but around 3:00p I am told that the original crew was still on another job and another team was coming from Vancouver. Finally, they show 4:30p. The two men were friendly and efficient, and they took care to make sure the load was secure. I got a call from Phillip that evening and he told me he needed the men off the job at 8:00pm because they had a big job the next day, but they could come back Saturday afternoon to finish, if needed, I got a bit angry since we were still loading and there was NO WAY we would be done at 8:00pm. I needed the truck in the morning to move things from another location so this was NOT going to work. It worked out OK, they stayed until 9:30pm and got the heavy stuff in the right rooms.

The crew of 2 arrived pretty much on time. They were polite, friendly and efficient. They worked hard and took only short breaks. At the beginning they said they would try to get the job done as quickly as possible so they could earn a tip! Well, they did work hard and fast. They got the job done in about 5 1/2 hours. The only complaint would be a scratch on the hardwood floor and doorway when they were careless with the refrigerator. However, it was a very narrow doorway.

Job 1: They arrived on time and handled all of our furniture very carefully. We had everything boxed up and they were very appreciative of the organization. It was amazing to see how fast they worked while still being very careful and clean. I highly recommend them! Job 2: This company went above and beyond to make us feel like they really cared about us. They were careful with our belongings and very courteous. It was refreshing to have found such a great moving company. They did such a great job the first time, we would want to give them our business in the future. They were extremely careful with our belongings.

Getting an appointment was easy, they arrived promptly, got to work fast and never took a break. Everyone was very polite and clean cut. These two guys moved quick! They were impressive. The costs were all up front and a great deal.

Everything went smoothly. They did not bring wardrobes as stated, but movers managed to wrap all hanging clothes in tarps and got all to destination. Both movers did excellent job. They were polite, moved right along and did not waste time. Two trips were required but all was completed in more than satisfactory efficiency. We were very pleased overall.

It went very well. They were slightly late turning up, but called me ahead of time to say that they would be. They then got everything loaded into the truck safely and efficiently. Once we got to the new condo, they were very quick with the unloading and put everything just where I wanted it. They even helped put the bed back together again.

Excellent job! On time, quick, friendly, and economical. $450 for about six hours of moving time. Completely worth the money.

On what turned out to be a bitterly cold morning, George and Dave arrived early and got right to work. They were polite, professional, and worked non-stop throughout the morning. As a matter of fact, they did not stop for a break until I insisted! I cannot stress how impressed I was at the outstanding effort they put in and the value of their service. I had an entire household moved from a storage unit and into my newly purchased home, about ten miles away, in approximately four hours for under $300. George and Dave were conscientious, took care with every item, and confirmed where I wanted boxes and items placed before bringing them in, all with a pleasant and upbeat attitude. I will recommend this company without reservation to anyone who is moving.
