DENNIS' SEVEN DEES LANDSCAPING

Very disappointing!

I called for an appointment to have an estimate done. During our conversation they let me know they have a base month cost for maintenance and then set a time for them to come to my house and discuss what I wanted done and what they could do for my yard. I waited the day of the appointment with the assumption I would go into work late. No one showed up or called.

Gary & his crew were very professional. Gary showed us pictures of their work to help us pick out the right design for our yard. They worked quickly and the work was done beautifully. The patio has a slight curve following the yard, & the pavers were cut to curve very skillfully. We are very pleased with the outcome & would definitely hire them again.

John Curtis gave advice regarding tree and paver selection, and walkway placement. Suggested spraying first, but was fine with me not allowing it. Prompt bid and contract signing. Landscapers arrived on appointed day, on time and did a great job. They cleaned every area they touched, including the street in front of the parking strip. Put leftover tree mulch in our other beds, and attractively placed a few rocks and solar lights (already in yard) with new walkway. Gravel is missing in a few narrow spots between pavers, but John is delivering a bucket so I can fill in.

They came when they were scheduled to come, worked hard, and finished the job in four days. I was very pleased with the results.

Great! We love the finished project. Leif, the landscape designer, was easy to work with. Came to the initial meeting with good and varied ideas. Got me an estimate in a timely manner and was just easy to work with from there on out. The price was fair, though not inexpensive. Much better (by several thousand) than another hardscape bid I got. They worked with our schedule, and started promptly on the agreed upon date. Mike and his crew did an excellent job at the installation. They were all very communicative about what was happening. There were a few delays. Materials were late in being dropped off. We had a huge, unexpected root in the way, and the weather was really, really wet. Through it all, Mike kept me in the loop. They did all they could to get the work done in a timely manner. Leif also checked in regularly. They came up with a great idea, on site, to re-route our downspout, which they incorporated into the plan. Really, all went very well.

Before he would even discuss setting an appt, he wanted to be sure the $$$$ was worth his bother.

Made an inquiry on the website, they called right back, I told them about the various work that I'd like them to bid on (driveway, landscaping, etc.), and they said they only came out weekdays and not on weekends! I work Monday - Friday like most folks, and this is not accommodating to my work schedule. They said they could come at 7AM which is barely dawn this time of year so that's not realistic. This is a place that is open on the weekend but they don't do bids on the weekends? Not very customer service oriented, so I'll look for someone else to invest in for my landscaping needs!

Everything that they do is excellent. It is just a very fine company.

Please know that both me & my husband are rather demanding & were 100% hands on during this project. Undoubtedly this would be a turn off for many contractors. Drew was by our side through this whole project (about 8 weeks). He seemed to be excited by our project as we were & this was not a phony act. He is an award winning landscaper with much of his work featured in major home & gardening magazines. He has also received many industry awards. Apart from all that he, and everyone at 7 Dee's we came in contact with were really dedicated people who wanted only to please. A few words must be said about the loyal work crew. For almost 2 months we had 3 workers, headed up by Julian, show up every morning between 730a-800a & work so diligently. Always with a smile on their faces. Everything turned out to be fabulous and certainly exceeded our expectations. Drew kept saying he wanted to be sure we liked the yard and checked with us every step of the way. We had a great deal of input into the yard, types of plants, placement of plants, etc. Drew really listened to what we wanted, and the yard reflects that. Drew always called us back promptly, did what he promised, and followed through. Every member of his crew was polite, friendly, helpful and very hard-working. We couldn't be happier with our yard and enjoyed working with Drew and his team very much.

Prompt and curious, All work done as discussed and on time. Price seemed a bit high, but I did not try to negotiate.

Drew is very friendly, and is good at selling the service. The design sketches were easy to comprehend. Systematic execution of the installation process doesn't seem to be a strong point for this company. Once we approved the sketch, their mode was to install, and move on to the next job. This would be fine except complex jobs require more than digging holes, and sticking plants in them. As complications arose, their ability to work with us deteriorated. We learned that a sketch is a rendition of the finished surface, a comprehensive job has many dimensions beyond the surface, (and they will all cost you extra). They failed to meet claims such as we will bring out all of the plants, and let you see the placement before installing them. We came to a fully installed planting array. Same thing happened with the lights. They subcontract work to people that were not licensed contractors, etc. I could go on for pages, but I'm limited to 1,000 characters.

THE REPAIRMAN WAS CLEARLY UNDER QUALIFIED, AND NOT SKILLED AS A PROBLEM SOLVER. IF IT WAS MY COMPANY, AND SOMEONE COMPLAINED AS I HAD, I WOULD'VE BEEN EMBARRASSED, YET THE REPRESENTATIVE FOR SEVEN DEES STOOD BEHIND HIS WORKER. I GUESS THAT'S THE STANDARD YOU CAN EXPECT FROM DENNIS' SEVEN DEES.
