It turned out good. They came out, kind of checked things over, kind of cleaned some stuff. They didn't have to make any adjustments. It went that well. They didn't charge me anything additional because there wasn't anything extra. They did exactly what they said they were gonna do. That was a good deal. The guy that came out, came out to do the job and left.

Everything went fine. Replacing capacitor was cheaper than replacing furnace which is 20 years old. Technician warned me before replacing capacitor that it might not work and that I may have to replace other parts/furnace which may be considerable more. And that I should start thinking about replacing furnace due to age-related expenses incurred over the last few years. Service call was quick. Only issue was getting any company to come out in a timely manner due to number of tickets that all companies were dealing with due to heat-surge. Not a fault of the company. Have used them before. Will use again.

They left the area pretty clean. It was a day to do the install.

Well. Technician performed inspection as requested, and made no attempt to sell more services.

Couldn't be happier. Comfort Solutions is a great company to handle AC installations. Everyone that I had interacted with was very nice and helpful. Justin was amazing, very knowledgeable, helpful, punctual, cleaned up, and extremely patient. Very happy with the installation and service. I certainly recommend.

Very well. Steve can within a couple of days of the call. Only one issue and that was small, but was fixed in a short time.

Called for an appointment and was scheduled the next day for a general maintenance and cleaning of our 15+ year old unit. The company called about a half hour before the technician arrived and work was completed to our satisfaction.

Things went great. They communicated well and timing was perfect.

I used Comfort Solutions and that worked very well. I would probably give them the top grade on all of that; they did a superb job. I was quite impressed with them all the way through. They had come out a couple of times before to check on something. We had it examined by the County.

They were polite and on time. They worked efficiently & finished before the allotted time. They also scheduled the permit for me &I will use them again.

My gas furnace stopped working in one evening. I called them in the next morning and asked them if they could fix it on the same day. They arranged a technician in a few hours. The technician came to my house on time and found the root cause of the problem in 30 min. He left my house to get the new part, came back and installed it in the afternoon. Everything went well. I would definitely call them again when I have problems.

From the quote all the way to the finished product, these folks are amazing. Quote was fast, and complete - no questions. Scheduling was a snap, and the crew was efficient, educational, friendly/respectful of my home, and very very informative, down to troubleshooting tips. The office crew coordinated all energy rebates for me, which is way above and beyond in my opinion. Cost was extremely competitive (validated with my brother who owns his own heating/cooling company in the midwest). Can't recommend them highly enough.

They spent a lot time asking sure I understood what needed to be done and I was looking at two different quotes because wanted to move the heater up into the attic so they give me a quote of $12,000 for that doing that then they gave me a quote around $5000-$7000 for the other one so they were just really patient in helping me trying to figure out what I need to do.

Fine. My heater needed overall cleaning, which the serviceman performed. He found a filter in the wrong place, which clearly I had never seen when I performed the quarterly change of filters and removed it. Clearly a previous service had done this. His assessment was the HVAC system was in very good working order and recommended I call them next year.

I am not happy with how things are going. First the good: • They were competitive in the sales process. They worked to accommodate me and they were responsive to my request. • They have many good people, for instance the Tech most recently helping me is excellent; the person who helps customers with rebates and tax credits does a first-class job. • Most everyone is courteous and professional in their interactions with me. Here is why I am removing my recommendation: • Poor execution in resolving a problem with one of my two heat pumps (new $28K Carrier system) that has left me having to heat the house on “Emergency Heat” mode which is very expensive on one of the two systems for a month now. I’ll give specifics below on why I am unhappy. • No sign of accountability, and escalation request to talk with owner ignored and / or denied. I asked three times for this discussion. I’m not asking to speak with CEO of Ford Motor Co., this is a small local company. • I feel like I gave my initial favorable review too early because I had good feelings about how they corrected the original installer’s damage to one of the units. Sincerely, the office manager made that problem “right” very quickly. In retrospect, I feel that installer rushed my job, was careless, and didn’t take the time to program the system for technical / Installer things like low temperature lock out. Here is specifically why I feel this recent month-long problem was mishandled: • Day 1: I report error message. Comfort tells me these $28K Carrier systems throw error messages when working hard, its been cold out, I should just rest system. • Day 3: I tell them I’m not OK ignoring error code, I want senor and pressure tested. [I have this in my sent message log, note on Day 30 it is determined I have a bad sensor.] • Day 7: Comfort visits, but their “testing” is done 100% by looking at the thermostat. “These systems are great because the thermostat tells us everything we need to know about system pressure and…” Tech does not look at actual heat pump. • Day 9: I’m outside, I notice massive ice (not frost) build up on outdoor unit, fan sounds very strained… I notify Comfort. • Day 9 evening: On-call tech visits to determine new switch is needed. Can’t be fixed without it. This is inconvenient, but I understand. • Day 19: Tech shows up with new part, installs, heat pump working. • Day 21: Heat pump still icing up, new part did not solve problem. • Day 30: Tech visits to determine faulty sensor. Part on order. • Day 31: Today – heating house with that unit via “Emergency Heating” at an incremental ~ $10+/- per day continues. This started on Dec 22nd, today is Jan 21st. Their ability to respond was inhibited by Christmas - New Years schedules and Portland’s extreme / rare ice and snow event. Yet, I’ve constantly had to ride them to come out and keep my issue progressing. For example, our roads were clear and kids back in school by a Wednesday, yet Comfort didn’t want to send a tech to my house until the following Monday.

Service went very well and serviceman provided valuable advice on top of the actual service.

Great. Scheduled work quickly and installed as agreed right on time. Top notch installers. Efficient and cleaned up nicely.

Replaced whole draft inducer unit which failed due to a shattered 18 year old plastic and likely brittle fan....and then when it died again 2 hours later, Jason came back and troubleshooted a secondary problem (outdoor water exhaust pipe froze) which was actually caused by the downtime due to the first problem. We like Comfort Solutions, they treat us well and they are friendly and prompt.

They came out the next day, immediately diagnosed the problem and had it fixed within a half hour. The problem was a condenser part which he had in his truck.

Comfort Solutions provided several options at different price points and responded positively to inquiries about NW Natural and Angie's List discounts. That made it possible for me to choose the top-of-the-line Carrier gas furnace. The installation was very smooth. Comfort Solutions had someone on site to measure clearances the day after I signed the contract and an installation team at the house on the following Monday morning (one of Portland's ice days). They were done by 2 PM and then gave me a thorough briefing on the operation of the furnace and the space-age thermostat and reviewed the packet of warranty and tax information. Of special note, the CF office staff fills out all forms for the client and registers the warranties so that the furnace is instantly covered. Besides being competent, the installers were nice folks who did no damage to walls and halls, and cleaned up all debris. I give a special shout out to Brian (the owner), who made a trip to the office on a holiday weekend to try to order a part; and Pam and Catherine, who schedule service and installers. The furnace itself is a variable speed system that operates very quietly and efficiently and keeps air moving gently. Lovely.
