Description of Work: I just needed a simple light fixture repaired, which I think could've been done by almost any electrician. The reasons I preferred using Callahan was the slightly cheaper price and availability. He was able to service my fixture within 2 days, whereas other electricians quoted me lead times of 2-4 weeks.

He was incredible responsive, and he was such a pleasure to work with. He gave us great recommendations for lighting fixtures, and even offered his discount for us at some local stores. He was the best, easiest part of our kitchen remodel, and we will definitely be using him again!

He was working on a few other jobs, but promised to fit our work in as quickly as possible so that everything could be complete before we moved in. The work was done quickly and professionally, and his final invoice was very close to the initial estimate. I would definitely work with Callahan Electric again.
Description of Work: Before we moved into our 1910 Colonial, we asked Steve to come through to replace dozens of switches and outlets, run some cat-5 cable to an upstairs office, and to generally check out the electrical to make sure we didn't have anything major to worry about.

+ -1 moreWe received two estimates, one for a 125-amp panel and a second for a 200-amp panel. We are working to schedule him to do the work, pending a final closing and move-in date from the title company. UPDATE: They got the panel, meter, and dryer outlet done in one day. I had to mark them down for quality because I was disappointed that they cut a much larger hole than necessary for the new breaker panel, which left about a 1" gap between the panel and the drywall. That didn't seem very professional. I "get" that the homeowner is responsible for patching drywall when they have to cut the wall to get at wiring, but they should have fixed this one before leaving the job. On the opposite wall where they replaced the meter, they cut the garage drywall to rewire the meter. They made very rough cuts in the wall, but those were at least easier to patch. Other than that, the electrical work was good, the price was reasonable, and they got the work done in the promised time frame.
Description of Work: We had two contractors come to see a short-sale home that required a new breaker panel (replacing a brand that is a known fire hazard) and rewiring something that was done improperly. The first electrician never bothered to provide us with an estimate, despite follow-up contact via E-mail. On the other hand, Steve Callahan responded the next day with a thorough estimate for an equivalent 125-amp replacement panel and bringing the out-of-code wiring to compliance. After E-mail and phone conversations, he provided a second estimate for an upgraded 200-amp panel. We plan to hire him to do the work, and based on his professional courtesy we are confident that the work will be done promptly and properly. UPDATE: They did come out to replace the breaker panel and installed a 200-amp meter. They also replaced the old dryer outlet with the new standard.
