Anctil Heating and Cooling

Imagine being without heat for several days. One company we called did not show up for an appointment: Its sensitivity to such a plight evidently has its limits. Not so with Anctil heatingand cooling, which prides itself not only on its professionalism but its word. When it makes an appointment, it sticks to it, as it did with me on the eve of Thanksgiving. I and my family were over a barrel. The technician, Jeff, could have told us it was the control board or the blower motor. Instead he showed me the part, said it was a usual problem and had one in the truck, and from the start to finish, in less than half an hour, I had heat. This from a company with which I had no prior relationship. I could not pay Jeff fast enough, and when I tried to give him something extra with my thanks, he refused it and said if I wanted to help we could tell our friends. What I would like to do is shout Anctil's praises from the rooftop with this caveat: skip them and the story you tell Angies List may have have my happy ending.

Anctil was very professional and knowledgable and we had a good experience from beginning to end. We had a consultation with Eric where we discussed all of our options. Our heating solution was not straight-forward because of idiosyncrasies of the house. Based on other research and Eric's advice, two heating systems was going to be the best solution. Our systems were installed within two weeks of our final meeting and everything went well. We were welcomed to contact them with questions after the installation. We would recommend them. I chose a B for price because it is was more expensive than we hoped, but we think it was a good value for a complicated solution. I should mention that they offered the lowest of all the bids we took.

Eric from Anctil did a very thorough job assessing the system requirements, answered our questions and furnished a quote the same day. Anctil was quite a bit less expensive than the other two contractors for comparable equipment especially for the Infinity two zone thermostat. The workman were skilled, courteous and left a clean area. They completed the work ahead of schedule. The foreman took time to explain the installation during the work and later the thermostat operation. Christine from Anctil provided all the information needed for us to take advantage of the considerable rebates which reduced my out of pocket costs by around $1800. The $12,000 initial cost does not include these rebates from Carrier, Federal , State and Gas Company.

They had the best bid out of three other people. We also decided to go with the due to the quality of the product they were installing. This is a 97.5% efficient furnace.

Anctil was incredibly responsive. They provided us with an estimate promptly, and completed work quickly thereafter. This project involved some complications, and their employees were able to step up to challenge.

My experience with them was extremely good, and everything worked well. They told me they would be here at 8:00 and were in front of my house at 8 o'clock. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and cleaned up after themselves. I really did not do a lot of research on this or do any other price quoting. My guess is that they may have been a little higher than if I had gotten it done somewhere else. Moreover, this was the only time that I have ever had a furnace done. I wanted the Carrier brand. The installation had a couple of little quirks in it, but they covered that without any problem. The doorway I had was a little too small for one of the things they needed to do, so they rearranged stuff and still made it work; it looks really good. The quality of work was extremely good. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

The work turned out to be pretty good. They were efficient and seemed to know their job. They had their big achievement of workers and they did everything that they were supposed to do. I was very pleased with the results. Their price was in line with everybody else there and they were fair. Their quality of work was very good.

It was an annual checkup. We had some issues with our air conditioner; it was very intermediate. We called and they came right out again. They didn't charge us again for it, which was nice. They seem to be knowledgeable. They come out on a timely basis and they come out when they say they would. We'll be getting a quote from them for a new system. Their price is very competitive.

It was excellent. They were. We had a furnace die on us. We called them out and within 24 hours had a new furnace and heat pump up and running. They gave us a quote and came back the next and had it running.

Anctil team showed up when they said they would, took them 1 day longer than anticipated, very professional, performed everything as bid. Great experience.

I liked the quality of their work and installation. Everything was on time and on budget. There were no extras. It was exactly what was proposed, and it was terrific. They were neat and orderly. They made sure that everything worked correctly before they left. They did a perfect job. I rate them highly.

They were kind, responsive and thoughtful in their response. We decided against the work, but would have moved forward with them in a heartbeat if we had decided to.

We've used them because they were the company that had installed the furnace and since it was warranty work we thought they would have to do it so that is why we hired them. The service was bad. The service guy came and immediately tried to upsell us because they don't make much money on warranty work. The service person tried to sell me a lot of different things. He left a dirty mess in the utility sink and didn't clean up. The repair is working and he was on time.

Fantastic, they were prompt and quick to respond after the initial estimate which was good because the old furnace was no longer working. The process took a day for two men to install and the carrier furnace they installed quite literally cut our heating bill in half compared to the 18 year old furnace we had before.

They are one of the major companies here. We had four proposals and they had the best proposal for the duct work. They were courteous and they cleaned up after themselves. They did exactly what we asked and held with the bid.

We use them all the time. We haven't hooked up our central air conditioning yet, but all the groundwork has been done if we want to add that up to our upstairs. It was quite a big job. They were very quick and very clean. They had to cut a hole in the floor of the closet. It was totally clean when they left. I thought that was amazing. There were professional and good about explaining everything. There were not the cheapest, but they were not the most expensive either. There was nothing about them that I disliked. We are going to have them do some more work for us.

Granted, it was dumb of us to ignore a malfunctioning furnace (and by malfunctioning I mean not working at all) until the beginning of December. But we were having remodeling done and not living at home so it was just another thing to deal with and easy to put on the back burner. However, Anctil said that the earliest they would be able to get a furnace in would be in January. The better part of a month without heat is ridiculous, when I found other large HVAC companies that prioritize cases where people are living without heat. I went with another company that got it in within 4 days.

Anctil did a high-quality job on our furnace replacement project. They met our objectives of installing a high-efficiency furnace, moving it to another location to give us more room in our basement, and redoing all the duct work so that we could get more headroom in the basement as well. We selected Anctil because they seemed the most knowledgeable or all three contractors we had bid on our furnace replacement. We were also interested in supporting a woman-owned local business. While we felt their price estimate was fair (though the highest of our three bids), the crew did the job in 2/3 of the time they estimated. Since the price we agreed to was a fixed flat fee, our job would have cost less if they had estimated the time to do the job more accurately.

Eric was on time and did a great job of explaining everything to me, without talking down to me as a woman. Although we did not choose Anctil to do this job, we will consider them another time for our HVAC needs.

Communication is impossible with both the receptionists as well as the advisors, as well as billing. The people who come out to do the work are still really good people. Communication in that business has really gone down hill in all areas. They overcharged me and I had to get back to them 2 or 3 times to prove that they had. The workers were very nice, but the office staff was awful. If I do ever use them again there is going to be a certain understanding before I ever employ them.

I had Anctil out first to do a consult on my furnace. I had some concerns and they were able to point me in the right direction. While the consultant was out I mentioned that when the furnace hasn't been on for a while I get a faint gas smell when opening the furnace room door. He arranged for one of their service techs to come out and fix it. The service guy was prompt and extremely proffesional and fixed my issue. I will definetly used them again for any of my furnace needs.

Work went well, although adjustments required a return visit, which they did. We had worked with this company for many years for furnace/heat pump maintenance and repairs.
