+ 0 moreThe install when very well. The installers were very careful and considerate. They made sure they didn't track in mud or dirt or scratch any furniture or wood work. The install took two solid days for both the furnace and air conditioner. Before they left on the second day they made sure the furmance was working and that we knew how to run the digital thermostat. After the install they came back a week later and did a complete air duct cleaning which was part of the install service.

air duct cleaning
+ -1 morethe guy was super nice and even fixed our back door, however we aren't convinced the job was done to the standard it should be. we have old registers in our home and when we take the cover off and reach in the ducts are still "crusty" and have loose dust on them. not large particles of anything or hair, but we were expecting them to be completely cleaned out. we were also told there would be "open heart surgery" on our furnace to efficiently clean it, however I don't see the massive cut and stitch work that was explained would be done. the fellow who came to perform the work said he was covering for his uncle, he seemed to know what he was doing and was very nice but i wish i had been present for more of the work to make sure it was done appropriately. for the cost of the work, we will shop around more next time

( I ask a lot of question) Show up on time, called the week of and day before and left everything cleaner then they found it. followed up too, didn't see that coming. They have absolutely earned my business
Description of Work: AAA put in a A/C unit for us this sumer. What i love about them is everyone who works for them is experienced. It took me a a bit to figure out that cheaper is not he way to go on a 10 year plus investment. In the end i was will willing to pay a good price for veteran guys. They really went to extra mile for us. cleaned out part of our ducts for free. They also walked us through options and looked up a number of questions for us. I must of talked 4-5 times on the phone with them most of it them wanting to make sure the A/C unit was right. We had a small area to fit the unit in. They were also concerned about our overall system. They actually talked me out of spending more to zone... I came in ready to do it. They ran the numbers and thought it would be a a waste of money for my current system, suggested some simpler fixes at no charge. They also stock "upper" brands so the quotes from AAA on their "low end" unit was like the middle or premium unit with a few other quotes. (seer rating and warrantee wise) That's when the cost made them very attractive. we are at the end of the summer. The unit is very quiet something they foresaw with placement and very efficient from units we have had in past plus it really looks good. I had two ugly units in our midwest house that we loud and they were new when we bought the house. I was expecting the worse... I guess I was impressed with how much follow through they showed, professionalism in the install, quality of products. We really wanted a veteran to do the job once! I felt like I got 3-4 of them on this job. They stand behind their work... I almost went with another guy, seemed really nice, good, a bit cheaper but unit was "off brand", lower seer and who knows if he will be around 5 years from now. I couldn't be more impressed with AAA.

+ -1 moreI had this company come do my furnace vents and ducts twice before and was very happy with them, that is why I called them this time. I had just had a complete kitchen remodel and so knew that my vents and cold air return needed to be cleaned. They showed up on time, went to work, there were two people, a man and a woman. The woman kept calling me "darlin" which was annoying and very unprofessional. The prior times this work had been done, they ran the air hose through the air returns and vents to blow out the dust as it vacuumed, this was not done. When they finished, I asked if they had cleaned the electronic air filters and they said that they had "air washed" them. So after they left, knowing that I also needed to water wash them, I went down and pulled them out, the first one had streaks in the dust, the 2nd one hadn't been touched. I went ahead and washed them with detergent and water. I received a call that the workmen had left his drill at my home, told the man of the problem with the electronic air filters, he said they would be coming right back and pick up the drill and open the furnace so I could inspect to see if it was clean. Which they did and apologized, saying they had gotten distracted. I couldn't tell much looking in the inspection holes, that didn't tell me how the cold air returns etc were. I was not offered any refund for their not cleaning the electronic air filters.

+ -1 moreThe night before, I was called to let me know the service man would be there "first thing in the morning," which when I asked for clarification, was between 8 and 8:30 am. At 9am I called to find out why no one had come and was told he had left at 8:15 and must have been delayed by "heavy traffic." He showed up at 9:25, did not identify himself or explain why he was late. He did volunteer that he was "tired" and speculated that it was because of recent hot weather. I showed him the furnace in the garage and he walked though a dirty oil pan (I had moved the car out of the garage) without seeming to notice it and even though it would have been very easy to avoid it. He quickly got to work but did conduct a 5 minute phone conversation while he was working which seemed to center on his dog's problems with fleas. When he left the furnace to go outside to look at the AC, I asked him how it was going and he said "it's going" and nothing else. When he was finished he presented me with the bill, saying "Have you considered replacing your furnace and air conditioner?" I was surprised and asked him what problems he had found. He admitted there were none, but tried to convince me replacement was needed because they were old and new ones would be more energy efficient and have a warranty. I declined and paid him. About an hour after he left, I received a phone call from a representative of AAA Heating and Cooling letting me know they could install a new furnace and air conditioner for me. I declined this also.
Description of Work: There were no known problems with the furnace or air conditioner. The service was to yearly maintenance evaluation.

+ -1 moreBuck came on a Saturday to give an estimate on replacing my dead furnace, air-conditioning system. He was thorough, measuring for himself instead of depending on my estimate. He checked outside and in for venting possibilities. He went on a search for additional returns because of the set up. He explained the process involved clearly. In all, his experience and expertise were valued and appreciated. I ultimately chose another company for a variety of reasons and will write a report for them later, but Mr. Sheppard should be commended.

+ -1 moreThey, along with three other duct cleaning companies, came out for an estimate. The costs were all very close. I picked this company versus the others by the toss of a coin. It is important to note that all three are part of NADCA. I would never have anyone not part of this group clean the ducts as they are held to a higher standard with specially trained technicians. We recently had new floors installed throughout the house and the technician knew of this and wore booties the entire time and made sure to put down a towel/cardboard prior to using a ladder. He was very professional and seemingly thorough and answered all of my questions. I am unsure whether duct cleaning really makes such a big difference (especially at this price) but, we should be able to tell in the next week or so by the level of dust in the house. Just three days past the cleaning and it "seems" better but, too soon to tell. It is important that consumers really research this before hiring a company.
Description of Work: They cleaned each of the twelve register vents, cleaned out the duct work, cleaned the electronic air filter and the dryer vent.

+ -1 moreOn the matter of cost, I did not comparison shop, so I don't know if the overall cost is fair or not. Nick spent numerous hours at our house talking over options and preparing the bid. I didn't want to go through the process with another company. Since our house is old and there were only two output vents upstairs, creative thinking was necessary to determine how to send heating and cooling upstairs. Simon figured it out beautifully. Ducting goes into the attic, from whence it enters the bedrooms through ceiling vents. The city's electrical inspector approved the electric work, and the overall quality inspector will be here in a couple of weeks. AAA also suggested we install an attic fan ourselves, which we did (saving about $200). One negative: a decrepit duct near the furnace was not repaired and it poured hot or cold air into the basement. Super-nice Joe from AAA taped it thoroughly after I complained; we'll see what the city inspector says about it.
Description of Work: AAA supplied and installed a new high-efficiency furnace, air conditioner. and ductwork. The installation took three full days.

+ -1 moreSteve Jones came out to do an estimate. He looked at the duct, and advised that we fix it ourselves since it is an easy job, and the cost to repair it would be $150 minimum. He told us how to fix it. He also checked the dampers and some of the other ducts, and found that one was very loose. He fiddled around with it, and must have done something right because the airflow is now much better. He also showed us how to change the filter on an electronic filter that we bought from them a few years ago. We have used AAA on several other occasions - to do duct cleaning, install the filtration system, and fix our furnace when it when on the fritz right at the beginning of winter. When our furnce went out, we were scheduled to leave on a month-long vacation in a few days. They went out of their way to get the necessary parts in time so that we wouldn't have to worry about leaving our house unheated the whole time we were gone. I can't say enough good things about AAA!
Description of Work: We recently found out that we had an open duct and had AAA come out to do an estimate for fixing that, and also look at our other ductwork and give us an opinion on whether anything else needed to be done to fix problems we've been having with inadequate airflow to some of the rooms in our house.

All-around great customer service: they showed up on time, got right down to business and worked HARD the entire time they were at my house, plus cleaned up the mess. As an added bonus, there was so much lint in my yard after they blew out my dryer vents, they vacuumed my yard with a shop vac! Now, that's service!

+ -1 moreFirst of all, Steve Jones came on 9/15 and provided us with an estimate on a furnace tune-up and complete duct work cleaning. In the end, we decided against having the duct work cleaned at this time because Steve, very honestly, said that he didn't think it was warranted. We phoned on 10/18 to make an appointment for a routine tune-up and, miracle of miracles, they were able to come that very same day. Deven and Adam did a thorough job and even invited me to look inside the furnace before they replaced the panels. I can heartily recommend this company.
Description of Work: Two technicians from AAA Heating performed a routine "Gas Burner Service" on our furnace. We made the appointment for a routine fall tune-up - there was no need for repairs.

+ 0 moreGood experience. These people are pleasant to deal with. The ductwork is really clean, and they did not leave a mess. When examining the very old air conditioner, a leak occurred. Some person in the past had soldered a coil to the removable panel. They immediately dispatched a repair person and fixed it, even flushing the coolant, free of charge, even thought the leak was waiting to happen. I thought they were a little expensive at first, but the work is great, and the way they dealt with this problem impressed me.

+ -1 moreAAA was recommended by an abatement company owner. He said that he even uses them for his own home. Steve Jones the indoor specialist was my contact person from AAA. He came out for the estimate and is pleasant and knowledgeable. Due to conflicts that came up, I had to reschedule cleaning a few times, but they were understanding and helpful in getting me new appointments. On the day of the cleaning, the team of two (didn't get their names) were punctual, courteous and worked on our home non-stop for at least 5 hours. They were also extremely informative and explained the steps and procedures during the process. Needless to say, they pulled out a ton of "stuff" from years of accumulation. They also replaced the broken combs in my filter as Steve had promised on his first visit. All in all, it was the most positive experience, and I will definitely recommend them, and also use them again.

+ -1 moreSteve, the technician, was accompanied by a trainee, Devan. Both were very pleasant, friendly but to the point with the information they gave me. They did give me maintenance recomendations. I didn't compare prices, so can't comment. And, I really can't comment on the ''quality'' of their work since I don't know what to check for. They were originally scheduled for some time in a 3-hour block. The office called me to see if they could come earlier as they had finished their other jobs. This worked out perfectly for me. I saw from Angie's List that others had not particularly positive things to say about this company. However, I had used them before and saw no reason not to use them again. Perhaps routine ''servicing'' and major heating repair or installation should be separate categories?
Description of Work: They did an inspection and serviced my gas heater. It's listed on the invoice as ''Gas Burner Service.'' The invoice lists what they did and what they found. They checked the blower, venting, wiring, heat exchanger, gas presure, removed and cleaned burners and flame sensor and did safety testing. They responded clearly and conservatively (good in this case) to my questions regarding maintenence (i.e. I asked about cleaning ducts, and although this is a service of the company, they indicated that things looked pretty good right now but gave me their recommendation for how often to have it done).
