Very good. It took a couple of calls to get everything set up but once we did, everything went great. The repairman knew what he was doing and finished in about an hour or so. We had been told the work would be under warranty and it was! Will certainly use them again.

There were two guys that came out. It took about two hours. They are friendly. They listen well and responded to requests. Picked up everything when done. I didn't even know they were there. Used a rubber tipped wond/whip to clean ducts to risk less damage then standard brushes that other companies might use.

Could have been horrible! Friday, late, last call of day, very hot day, beginning of a "heat wave"... I expected the worst. However, the repair technician was very nice, right on time, and easy to talk to. He diagnosed the problem quickly, made some recommendations, fixed the problem, cleaned the system. I could not have been more satisfied. Problem fixed and I am now going to get an estimate on a replacement (current unit is very old). UPDATE: Heat pump finally died. Called AAA first for a proposal. Rep came to my home but I never heard from them again. Unfortunately, even though I had a good past experience, this was a very major oversight in my evaluation for a contractor for an expensive project. Got two other proposals and took one of them. All seems fine now. Sorry AAA.

Everyone I dealt with was very nice—from the people who answer the phone to the two techs who provided the services. I scheduled the services, then we saw a deal for the same service offered by another company. I called AAA and explained the conundrum. They were willing to match the price. I will use them again when necessary. The person who performed the AC and furnace service was honest and fair. We bought the house a year ago, and were told it was a newer furnace. The tech showed me that it's NOT new; it's 13 years old. Not much to be done about it, but we know now to plan for an upgrade at some point. He showed me how dirty the filter was so I would feel better about buying a new one. :o) He gave our AC unit a thumbs up (it's only a few years old). The duct cleaner was thorough and efficient. It was 90 degrees + the day he came out, and all the air vents were sealed while he did the service, so no AC. I give him credit for not passing out from heat stroke. They were very good about confirming my appointments and giving me updates about arrival times. All in all, not a glamorous service, but necessary. AAA made it easy.

AAA came out and removed it and made sure the furnace filters were clean and all was working properly. We will continue to work with them for all of our heating and cooling needs.
Description of Work: We have used AAA Heating & Cooling for many years. They replaced the furnace in our old house and sealed up the ductwork in the upstairs crawlspace. They came out to inspect all the work after it was done and made sure it was all up to code. We recently moved to a new home and this house had a humidifier attached to the furnace. We had no need for this and besides, the filter was filthy.

We called NW Natural Gas for their free inspection which was done on 3/21/2014. The inspector found some scratch marks in the heat exchanger he opined were caused by someone inspecting with a mirror. He found no cracks. Off the record, he also told my mother that he would not replace the hot water heater if she was having no problems with it. I believe that the second employee from the service provider was trying to take advantage of an elderly customer, and sell her a furnace though hers did not have a cracked heat exchanger. The hot water heater replacement advice simply adds to our dissatisfaction with this service provider. NWNG also gave my mother a list of their approved service providers, and the list did not include this service provider.
Description of Work: Service was provided to my 87 year old mother who lives alone. Initial service was on 2/19/2014 for annual servicing of her gas furnace and Carrier heat pump. The technician did a full inspection including the heat exchanger, and his written report indicated "no visible damage". He recommended that the filters be replaced in the electric air filter unit. He did not have the filters, so another employee installed the filters on 3/20/2014, a month later. That employee told my mother he had concerns because of the 24 year age of the furnace, and he re-inspected the heat exchanger and told her it was cracked. He shut off power to the furnace and told her it needed to be replaced. He also recommended that she replace her gas hot water heater due to age though she was having no problems with the water heater that is in the garage. He gave my mother a written report indicating the heat exchanger had cracks.

I have used at least three different companies in the past. It was very difficult to diagnose the problem with my furnace. Travis was the technician who I worked with. He was prompt, professional, and clearly explained everything to me. It took him about three visits and he did only charge me for one. He thought one of the problems with my furnace was my thermostat. He installed a thermostat, but that never fixed the problem. Travis was very nice, professional, and friendly. He spent his time checking everything that was possible. He finally was able to find that a small part inside the furnace itself that needed to replaced and he completed the repair.

The only snafu was a miscommunication where I had asked if I could call and cancel before the appt. and they said yes, but somehow the message that got through to the rep was that I would call to CONFIRM, so they failed to show the next day because I didn't call. I can see how this would be an easy mis-communication. The bottom line is that they went out of their way to move things around and still get there on the same day for what was a very urgent project from my end. The sales rep was very kind and helpful, as were the two individuals who performed the service. In the end, duct repair and vacuum were done effectively and well, and they kept my house clean in the process.

John Rodarte submitted walked through the installation with me. He detailed the codes for the City of Beaverton and explained the the new A/C must be put in a new location. (The existing A/C was too close to the dryer vent and the natural gas meter.) John explained the differences between the units in his proposal and also described the importance of filtration and included a separate quote for duct work to install an April Air filter. I requested a fresh set of quotes for the Amana AC units and John provided them that night. We had an Amana installed that had a lifetime warrantee on the compressor of the outside unit. Chris the installer and his partner did a number of things to improve the duct work : they streamlined the ducting to improve the airflow and the first time the AC turned on we noticed that it was quieter. I am very happy with the installation and with the comfort in our house. They utilized the variable fan that we had and now works much more quietly than it used to and the air feels more comfortable. I have only good things to say about AAA, their staff and their work.
Description of Work: (1) Provide and install a new 3 ½ ton coil to existing furnace. (2) Provide and install sheet metal transitions to reconnect to existing ductwork. Sheet metal installation for the new April Air filter also. Also they re-did sheet metal that previously had many leaks and slowed down the airflow. (3) Provide and install a new 3 ton outdoor unit at designated location with pad. (4) Provide and install new refrigerant lines from coil to outdoor unit. (They used the netting to suspend the coil that the City of Beaverton inspector said was a superior material.) (5) Provide and install a new condensate pump, that included a new float safety switch for heating and cooling. They also provided a pipe cleaner to clean the condensate pump filter. They also re-routed the drain line for the condensate pump. (6) Subcontract included in price to redo the breaker to a lower amp and re-route the electrical in the crawlspace. The electrician's work was very clean and included multiple braces. (7) Clean-up of all work areas upon completion of install. (8) Provide mechanical permits and coordinate inspections. (9) Provide a tune-up, safety check and filter change after one year

Rocky arrived at our house at 3:30pm to service our furnace and air conditioner. He identified a water leak with our Coleman furnace the first 5 minutes that he was there. He called a co-worker who told him that the part had been on recall for some Coleman models. He went through his findings in person and left many notes on the service form about our air conditioner which is in need or replacement. He measured the difference between the air temperature in the house and the air temperature coming through the vent when our air conditioner was turned on. I asked him about the natural gas shutoff to our house. He showed me where the shutoff was and how to shutoff the gas to the furnace and water heater in the event of an earthquake.

The service and sales appeared to us to be honest and very competent. The duct cleaning and furnace installation took place on different days and went without any hitches. Everyone showed up on time as scheduled and carried out their respective tasks in a professional and friendly manner with a minimum of disruption. We didn't do any pricing comparisons, but the prices seemed reasonable and the providers knowledgeable and capable. We would certainly recommend AAA to anyone who asked about such services in this area. The equipment is quiet, operates efficiently, and he filter will be replaced free at an annual inspection. We are happy to have replaced our old electronic filter which required monthly washings. The current filter requires only an annual replacement. We're happy campers.
Description of Work: Former furnace serviced and inspected. Since that unit was over 20 years old and showed wear in the fan and ignition system, an upgrade was recommended by the very competent service agent. A sales agent came in a few days later, inspected our equipment and gave us various options. We chose a Lenox Model EL195 E for $3,683 minus a rebate of $110 for the previous service call. We also opted for a $295 duct cleaning and inclusion of an Aprilaire filter system ($250) to be included with the furnace installation.A new thermostat came with the furnace installation.

I really love this company. They have been providing service to me and my parents for a number of years now. Regardless of who is sent out to do the work, the professionalism and commitment to service is always the same, FANTASTIC! For this job, I had to have my parents' furnace replaced. In an earlier review, I mentioned that Todd, the furnace technician had found a crack in one of the ceramic heating elements. This work on 7/16/2012 was to replace the furnace. Sean was the lead installer with David as additional hands. Come to find out, this was David's first day with the company. He explained to me that he searched out furnace/AC companies through Angie's List that had the type of commitment to the customer that he had. His previous employer, he never told me the name, which is extremely thoughtful and professional, no longer met his expectations. Sean and David did a very thorough and professional job. They kept the new venting very neat and tidy, I switched from chimney venting to direct venting. They made sure that the job site was kept clean while they were working and at the end of the job. Absolutely would recommend this company to everyone!

I love this company! I have been using them for about five years now. I even convinced my parents to switch because of the company's commitment to service and quality. My parents love the company too! I called yesterday, Monday 7/9/2012. Eric, in the dispatch area and I have spoken before. I have also worked with other members of the company, accounting, shipping, etc. Everyone that I have ever dealt with has always, always been professional. I called not expecting an appointment for at least a week. Busy time for air conditioners. Eric asked if he could call me back, he was going to check with a technician to see if he was available. Eric called me back within 10 minutes. Todd, a technician that has been to my house doing routine maintenance and at my parents', was available to come out on Tuesday, 7/10/2012. Incredible. Less than 24 hours later for a routine call. That was customer service! I know that can't happen all the time, but was nice when it did! Todd was right on time for the appointment. He remembered me from the maintenance he did on my furnace. We talked about what the inspector found. I showed Todd the rust. Todd had just purchased a video camera diagnostic tool and was eager to try it out. After about 30 minutes, Todd brought me down to the basement to show me the pictures from the tool and explained what he found. He confirmed that the gas furnace was about 12 years old. George Morlan Plumbing installed it when they were in the furnace installing business. Very basic model. Todd showed me a crack on one of the ceramic heating cylinders. He had checked a heat vent when he had turned the heat on with a sensor. I didn't realize at the time what he was doing, figured he was checking BTU's. He was checking BTU's and also for carbon dioxide. The cracked cylinder, five in all in the furnace, was on the verge of cracking completely. Right now, without carbon dioxide emissions in the heat vent, he was pretty sure that it hadn't fully cracked yet. The picture he showed me clearly showed the crack. Very cool tool. Because of the age of the furnace, to replace the entire heating coil with cylinders was going to cost around $900.00, if they could find the part. I asked him to price out replacing the furnace and finding out when it could be installed. Todd did some research and after about 20 minutes presented the options and the different price ranges. I chose the option and he scheduled the installation for next Monday, 7/16; they day I had asked him to try and find a time. I will write a new review on the installation of the new furnace once it is completed.
Description of Work: I didn't spend anything, yet. The original call was to come out and inspect moisture causing rust around the furnace exhaust. I am selling my parents' house and had a house inspection. The rust was found by the home inspector.

My experience with AAA Heating and Cooling was very positive, and I am very satisfied with the work that was completed. I needed to replace my previous gas furnace (about 22 years old) and wanted a high-efficiency model that would qualify for state and federal tax credits and be of high enough quality to reasonably last 20 to 25 years. I contacted three companies, two of which sent sales representatives to my house to meet with me and discuss my needs in a new furnace. AAA Heating and Cooling sent out Randy Beers, who took a very thoughtful approach in asking me several questions about what I was looking for in a new home heating system. I walked him through the house to show him where the vents were and how the previous system did and did not work well, and he provided me with some helpful information about Lennox's high-efficiency models and ways to finance the purchase. Randy's information, and some further research on my part about Lennox and its competitors, led me to conclude that Lennox, particularly with its stainless steel secondary heat exchangers that won't rust, was the best choice, even though it was a more expensive model than a Carrier model that another company wanted to sell me. Once I made the decision to hire AAA and go with the Lennox product, everything went smoothly from there. Victoria Allen was on top of all of the paperwork issues (financing, tax credits, rebates, permits, inspection, etc.). Jorge and Nick did a great job with the installation, and when they could not finish all of the work on a Friday, they came back on Saturday and got the job done. Later, when a small problem came up with the installation of the condensate pump, Jorge came back out to my house--again on a Saturday morning--and fixed the problem quickly. This was not an inexpensive purchase, but as I plan to stay in my house for several more years, I felt the investment was worth it, and the customer service from AAA was exceptional. I have already recommended AAA Heating and Cooling to friends and neighbors and will likely hire the company for a tankless water heater installation in the years ahead.

AAA has serviced our furnaces (we have 2) several times. The main furnace developed a new noise AFTER they serviced it, which they explained as a part that was starting to wear out. OK, fine. However, they also identified an issue with our condensation pump, which they appeared to fix, but failed to properly reset the tubing, leading to a small leak onto our basement floor which persisted for several weeks (until I noticed, and simply place the tubing where it need to go). The bigger problem occurred when we asked them to look at a problem with our smaller, upstairs furnace. They determined that all we needed was new batteries for our thermostat, which they replaced, and noted that they would not charge us for the service call. The new batteries did nothing for the problem, so we called again, at which time they informed us that we owed them $89 for the service call to change the batteries (they later billed us $99), and another service call would cost us yet more. We declined and contacted another company to replace both thermostats, figuring that might be the issue. The other Co. came out, replaced the thermostats, and promptly determined that a) the furnace wasn't grounded, and b) in their opinion the vent was too small and was causing the furnace to overheat and prematurely shut down. All new info, and something that AAA never offered. We are happy that we have found a service provider that actually seeks to diagnose problems rather than simply charge for changing batteries.

AAA Heating and Cooling has serviced my furnace and AC for years, so I had them do my air duct cleaning and they did not disappoint. Their service and professionalism was exactly what I've come to expect. The technician arrived a few minutes early, explained to me the process before he began and then kept me updated as he went along. He finished right on time. It took a couple of hours for the dust smell to go away but now I feel that my home is cleaner than ever, and I feel that my allergies are improved as well.

I called AAA Heating and Cooling to have someone figure out why my furnace wasn't working. I was told the diagnostic fee would be $89 and they would send someone to my house on Friday between 10am and 2pm. Since I was not going to be home during that time, I was told the tech would call before entering the garage (where the furnace is) and call again when the diagnostic was completed. I never received a call before the diagnostic and finally got the post diagnostic call at 5:35pm. I didn't have time to call them back before they closed. Called back on Monday and was told the control board was bad and would have to be replaced for $397. I had also called the furnace manufacturer and was told in order to warranty the part, it would need to be removed and exchanged. I told AAA about this and they said they would find out if this could be done and call me right back. I waited for a week and didn't hear anything back from them. Finally, got a call back, but instead of them telling me the warranty situation of the control board, they wanted to know where the $89 fee for the diagnostic was (I was called about the fee long before I received a bill in the mail. That came days after this call). I responded by asking about the warranty part situation. The person seemed shocked that no one contacted me about it. She pulled up the file and said they found two parts distributers and quot;one would warranty the part and the other wouldn't, so we won't and the fee to fix your furnace will we $397. When would you like us to come do that?and quot; I told them I wanted to have the part replaced under warranty and since they couldn't do it I would need to find someone who could. They were a bit shocked by this response and said and quot;Well that leaves the $89 fee.and quot; I said I would put the check in the mail the next day (which I did). About 5 days later I received a bill in the mail for the $89 diagnostic fee.
