The experience went very well overall.

Did good work. Offered to sell us a filter or install the ones we had sitting around.

I called Ben's and they put me on the schedule right away. The technician arrived when he said he would. He got right to work. He did find a part that needed replacing (condenser parts). He had to pick them up and come back to install. Even then, the whole thing only took 2 hours.

John arrived on time and was polite and professional. The first furnace checked out ok. On the second furnace, he said it needed a new gas valve. He quoted me a price of $428 to replace it. He said he'd return in the next day or so to install it. I never heard anything more from him. I called another company to look at the furnace (Appliance Guys, whom we have used before and trust). They said there was nothing wrong with the valve, and so far the furnace is working fine. I'm not sure if Ben's made an honest mistake, or if they were right and the valve will soon fail. Either way, I don't appreciate that they never got back to me.

The technician did a great job, especially when he explained about what he was doing and how it affected the furnace. He also made some suggestions on how to keep the furnace running more efficiently and what to look for to avoid problems. I will be watching for Angie's deals with this company for routine maintenance and use the company if I have a problem with the equipment.

Technician arrived promptly on time, very professional and courteous. Did an overview of furnace condition, retrieved tools from truck and proceeded to clean, test, replace filter and check machine parts for condition and longevity. Taught me about the differences in furnace filters so I can make better buying decisions in the future. He found one problem with this elderly furnace. A motor part nearing the end of it's life expectancy and - explained in ways I could understand - what is happening to the equipment. He provided me an idea of replacement expenses and what I could expect between now and next winter from the furnace. He re-tested furnace after finishing the tune-up, cleaned up his work area and even offered to take and throw away the old filter for me! I was given a complete written invoice of services provided, noting performance specs of furnace's heating and the problems with the aging parts needing replacement. I didn't feel technician was rushed to get tune-up done, but rather he took the time needed to be through. I was pleased with this experience and happy to recommend Ben's Heating & Air Conditioning.

Both technicians were extremely professional and courteous, taking the time to explain to us what they were planning to do, consulting us when plans changed, and following up when they were finished with maintenance tips.

The furnace technician, John Borgman, was wonderful to work with. He was polite, well-groomed, and professional, as well as punctual and genuinely enthusiastic about furnaces. He thoroughly cleaned our furnace and inspected all parts, then explained to us exactly how they worked and what kind of shape they were in. It turns out that we have an inducer that is beginning to go out-- Mr. Borgman gave it up to five years before it needs to be replaced-- and he told us that, if it needed to be replaced within the next two months, there would be no service charge for the visit. We were highly satisfied with his work and expertise.

He was knowledgable and detail. we are still waiting to see the paperwork so we can do a claim on the A/C under our home warranty insurance.

The technician totally explained everything he was doing, and showed why my motor should be cleaned out even though I wasnt expecting to spend more than the coupon value, it was pretty obvious it needed doing. I didn't feel like I was being scammed or anything which often in the past with heating companies I have felt overly expensive solutions were offered up and in checking later, sure enough, could have gone a better route. I didn't feel for a minute that this was one of those companies. I think they are trustworthy and worth a try if you haven't - they clean up when they are finished too!

We received an appointment within a few days after calling and Ben arrived on time. He performed a complete fall checkup of furnace; polished the corrosion off the igniter & sensor (not done by previous company we used); cleaned the filter, etc. He also found a piece of cedar shake that had fallen into the fan when the roof was replaced earlier, averting a potential and costly problem.

They have always been very fair and their prices are very comparable to other companies. They are very honest and do not try to push unnecessary services. My ac only needed one filter this time around and they gave me a great deal.

So efficient, no time wasted waiting for parts or scheduling more time off from work for a second trip..

Giving them make and model of the furnace (a Lennox) We were told they would send someone in two hours or less to do a diagnosis and if possible a repair. In about an hour and a half a repairman came up our slippery hill. came in, put on booties and was shown to the furnace downstairs. He discovered the problem was a worn out ignition unit, had the correct replacement in his truck and made the repair in about 30 minutes. He also cleaned the unit and filter.Everything works great now. He did caution us that the unit is about 18 years old (showed us the install date on the tag) and recommended we replace it within a year. He said the best time is usuall Spring, when business is the slowest. We will replace the unit, and will have Ben's do the job. We;re very happy with them. They were prompt, polite, business-like, and knew their stuff.

We received bids from 3 different companies. The other two companies were pushing us on expensive $12,000 systems and heat pumps, or 80% efficient furnaces. The never really listened to what we wanted. Clyde from Ben's Heating came out and spoke with me. They have been in the business locally so long and have serviced so many homes, he not only answered all of my questions, but suggested systems that he knew would be appropriate for the house. Clyde was the only person who told me NOT to get an 80% furnace. After 2013 they won't be able to install them anymore, so it would help the resale value of the home when it comes time to sell. He also said that heat pumps are great, but in our case it didn't make sense. Ben's uses Bryant, which is the exact equipment as Carrier, but considerably less expensive. We never had A/C, but always wanted it. Clyde was able to come up with a reasonable package with a 92% efficient gas furnace AND central air conditioning at half the price of the lowest bids from the competitors. Money wasn't the only factor why we chose Ben's. Ben's Heating has been a family-run and local business for over 20 years. The other companies I interviewed are all based in other states. I figured it made sense to get the best service at the best price and keep it local. On install day, they arrived on time and had everything installed within a couple of hours. One thing I learned through research is that it doesn't matter what furnace you buy - the quality and reliability of the installation is the most important. His crew has been with him for years, and includes his son. They were quick, professional, and courteous. I would definately work with Ben's Heating again!

The owner came and looked at the house. Explained very thoroughly what options we have. Work was done the following week.

I decided to have them install a new unit, and I had a great experience. Overall, I was happy customer. I’d certainly recommend them to others.

I made an appointment August 30 for someone to come out and give me an estimate on the repair of my heater. My appointment was for today between 0800 and 0900. I waited until 0940 when i called the company to see where they were. I left a message at the first number listed and then called the second where a lady answered and said that she didn't think I had called them. Apparently they didnt have me on file, I told them to forget it and I would call someone else. I went through my phone log on my cell phone and I indeed had called them on August 30 and made an appointment with the first number listed above. I find her response to be very unprofessional and I EXPECT people I am going to pay to show up on time. This was not a good experience and I will be employing a competitor to do the job.

My water heater quit working sometime during the wee hours of July 5. I called Ben's early morning, spoke with Clyde, told him I was a previous customer and explained my problem. He understood how uncomfortable it was without hot water and said he could come to my home between noon and 1:00 pm. He did show up when promised! Clyde determined and explained that my brand of heater carried a part that was exclusive to that brand and could not replace the faulty part with a "generic" part. He was able to at least give me a temporary fix, told me to call the manufacturer and order the part so that I would have it on hand. He told me the repair he did could last a short time or may last a while - it all depended on the faulty part. The heater died again within the hour - through no fault of Clyde's - but at least I had a tank of hot water to last a while. He did not charge the full service call rate and told me as soon as the part came in to calland he would come back and install. I was told by the manufacturer that the part would be here (via UPS delivery) on July 7, so I called Clyde to make an appointment to have it installed. As I am not sure of the delivery time, Clyde has made arrangements to be at my home at 4:00 pm with the hopes that the part will have arrived. In the event it does not arrive by 4:00 pm he has given me his cell number and has offered to come back at 8:00 pm that night (after his son's baseball game) to install the part!!!! Such service!!! This is not the first time Ben's has offered such incredible service. I highly recommend this company and if you can ask for Clyde -- do so!!! Very professional, helpful, friendly and knowledgable.

I called several Heating and Cooling companies and got 5 different bids. Clyde was responsive when I call and his bid was fair compared to the others. I decided to let him to the work because he was very willing to work with my schedule. The work was fine, but I discovered two deep gouges in my wood floor a few days after he left. The gouges looked like sharp piece of metal of tool was dropped on the floor. I called him and talked to him about it. He said that he don't remember dropping anything on the floor, unless he stepped on a tool which would have made the gouges in the floor. He said that he would call me that weekend to come back to take a look at it. He never attempted to call back. So, I am left with two deep dents in my brand new wood floor. To me, this is very unprofessional.

I don't remember how much we spent on that because my husband dealt with them. I thought they were great. I would definitely recommend them. They were responsive even on holidays and weekends. I don't have a way to compare their price, but it was fine.

failed inspection. had to redo some venting. living room still cold. called them back out. was very expensive. 3 yrs later living room still cold. would not use them or call them again.

There really isn't much of a story to tell. I called, Ben's responded and provided an estimate. We agreed on the job and price, and set an installation date. In every case, they completed the job on time at the quoted price. There was one installation that was rather more complicated than the others, and there were some delays getting the inspectons completed. However, that was mainly due to miscommunication between Ben's and the electrician, and to some temporary personnel issues that were quickly resolved. Long story short, Ben's has consistently been very responsive and done quality work for us at a very affordable price

Clyde from Ben's heating was basically late for everything promised. Late for the initial appointment to evaluate need for a new heat pump, late in providing the price for the proposed work, and when finally furnished (after follow-up phone calls by me), it was for a different product and size than discussed. The price was also not competitive with others obtained.
