"Please note, Union Floor has not changed hands! The owner's daughter, Heather, joined her dad in running Union Floor in 1994 and took over the day to day operations in 2001 with her dad staying on (as he does today) as a consultant. Her husband, Gordon, who has an extensive construction and building background, joined the team in 2005. The management and ownership team has been constant and remains in the family. Our technicians are full-time, year round Union Floor employees (we do not sub out any of our work) who have made wood floors their trade and passion. Union Floor has been in business since 1922 and we are committed to doing great work and making sure our customers are happy. Our business relies on repeat and referral customers so we would not have been in business for nearly 90 years if we did not take care of our clients. The situation with the member is very unfortunate and we are doing everything in our power to resolve it. The most difficult piece of this situation is that the member did not tell us she was unhappy in any way until 6 months after her kitchen project occurred. In fact, she did just the opposite – she told us in writing how “nice and new” her kitchen floors looked and then hired us again to install new wood floors in her great room (which we did in November). During our emails, phone conversations and personal meetings from June 4 (when her kitchen was completed) until December 1, she made absolutely no mention of any complaints or even hint at the slightest dissatisfaction with our work. This is not a case of issues developing with the floor over time. We are trying to discern what the issues really are and why we were not given the opportunity earlier to take care of them. We are doing everything we can to figure out why she is suddenly unhappy and what we can do about it. The member was an extremely nice and satisfied customer until December 1st and it's extremely disheartening that she's suddenly unhappy. As with all our customers, we are committed to continuing our efforts to resolve this issue with her. MEETING WITH THE CCB FOUND IN UNION FLOOR'S FAVOR AND MEMBER PAID THE MAJORITY OF THEIR OUTSTANDING BILL. ALL OF THE MEMBER’S ALLEGATIONS WERE CONFIRMED TO BE FAR FROM THE TRUTH."
