Description of Work: Furnace had intermittent issues where it was going into error state periodically. I had found some common issues through online research to get it going multiple times, but eventually the problems were too often. Wilfert came out to the house twice - the first time he showed me the typical cause of the problem being a dirty flame sensor. And after that work, the furnace worked more reliably for 3-4 weeks. But then we had a major cold streak and the furnace would not come back on despite all previous band-aid solutions. The Wilfert tech had mentioned that he thought the gas valve was suspect as well, and on the second visit that was replaced. The furnace has worked flawlessly since then. The first call was about $80 for the visit, the second visit was $213 for the gas valve and labor.

+ -1 moreReplaced the duct work in a timely manner and also pointed out that the fan that had been recently installed was broken and would need to be replaced. Also tips on future moisture problems. I called them because I had been having trouble with the service people who had been taking care of our furnace/air contioning for several years. Wilfert was recommended to us by our contractor. Shannon came and performed the service, giving me helpful info regarding care and maintenance, etc. He also pointed out some things that were not being taken care of by our previous service providers, i.e., installation of a high-end expensive dc motor on a 15-year old furnace, when a less expensive fan would have been more appropriate given the age of the furnace which will probabley have to be replaced in the near future. I also asked him to tell me where I could get a replacement for metal flasing on Jenn-aire outside vent. He took a look and actually fabricated a replacement piece in his truck, without charge! Said he had the materials already and it wouldn't be a problem.
Description of Work: 2 Separate occasions: 1. Replaced attic crawlspace duct work for installation of new bathroom fan. 2. Furnace and airconditioning checkup.

+ -1 moreWe had three different estimates from different companies who carry different manufacturers. Wilfert gave us the most complete information, the most options and the lowest price. He seemed honest, hard working and concerned about value for the money.
Description of Work: The external portion of our heat pump failed in mid-December. Wilfert inspected it, then gave us estimates on costs to repair as well as costs to replace. He gave us several options and we decided to replace the outside unit. Wilfert ordered the unit, installed it and took away the old one.
