Overall I thought he was very very nice. He was very helpful. He was very accommodating to my needs. After the work is done I think he is high for repairs. He did everything he said he would do. Overall it was a very good experience.

We used Baldwin Enterprises to replace our windows after looking at 4 other bids. They were just a little higher than the lowest bid. I was really impressed with the whole process. They were flexible in working with my schedule and everything was done when they said it would be. The installers were so fast...I couldn't believe it. Less than 6 hours to do the whole house. Everything was cleaned up and we love the windows. This is a great company!
Description of Work: Replaced all the old aluminum windows in our house with single-hung vinyl windows.

We were very pleased with the outcome of the siding job. Kevin was very professional, courteous and respectful, with a warm personality. A rare combination these days. We felt his price was fair and saw no need to get another estimate. The worker who installed the siding was also a professional, arriving when he said he would and completing the job as promised. The siding job looks great. He cleaned the site upon completion and we have received numerous compliments. We have already sent Kevin the names of 2 family members who may be interested in his service. We would definitely recommend Baldwin Enterprises to others and call Kevin again if we have siding needs.
Description of Work: Every 7 years or so we are in the habit of having parts of our nearly 40 year old ranch style home painted. This year I looked on Angie's list and called Kevin Baldwin to come and give us an estimate for siding. After assessing our home he let us know that some parts of our home did not need siding as yet. He priced the 4 gables, top half, roof section. That is the section his workman completed.

From the initial phone call through completion of the job everybody involved was polite, courteous and professional.They were even able to get us in ahead of the original scheduled date while still working with us on the billing date. Not only would we work with Kevin and his crew again but are looking forward to having the rest of the siding and trim replaced later this year.
Description of Work: One morning we woke up to what ended up being the sound of birds tearing through the old siding on the gable at the back of our house. It was definitely time to not just repair but update and replace the siding.While it was not in our budget to replace all the siding we knew that the back gable and trim definitely needed to be replaced quickly.After reading some reviews on Angie's list we decided to contact Baldwin Enterprises.

This process went well as stated above.
Description of Work: We found this company in the phone book and called for appt and estimate. They were prompt in their response and set up an appointment efficiently. The siding took approx one week, which is the time allowed by the company. The work was professional, as was the contractor. The gutter was installed in approximately 3-4 hours. The work was done on time and the contractors were courteous and professional. We were pleased with the results and would recommend this company and would use them again if needed.

We had to replace all our siding unexpectedly and Stephen Baldwin provided a quick, professional and reasonable bid. He blew our original siding company out of the water with his bid and presentation. We had to try and match a recent paint job and he did a great job of going through his distributers to find the best match not only for the color but one that would do well in our region. He also provided us with style and product options. He described the process and timeline and it happened just as he described. The installer was personable, timely, and did a great job. We are very happy with the results of what began as a very unhappy situation with our old siding. We would highly recommend Baldwin Enterprises.
Description of Work: All our 20 year old siding had to be removed from our 3600 square foot home. It already had the foam board insulation so they did not have to replace that. Then they had to put the new siding on. We chose an insulated siding so the installer had to make adjustments in cuts because the new siding was new. They replaced all the corners and edging and caulked everything necessary. They were very careful because this was a special order and we would have had to wait at least 2 weeks if we ran short. They called before they came, they cleaned up each day, they asked if and where they could store materials and we were very pleased with the process. They made sure that over the weekend that nothing or very little of the house was exposed, so they only tore down what they could replace in a day. We had one corner piece that did not make the original delivery and they quickly took care of that problem. There was a total clean up when the job was completed. Mr. Baldwin inspected the completed job, took care of a few details and when the job was completed we paid for it. I appreciated his style of business. Trust and integrity are still alive and well!

I hated everything about them. They are the worst company. They do not know what they are doing. They installed my storm door backwards. They destroyed all my windows when they were taking out the older ones and putting the new ones in. The owner, Patrick Fleming, refused to pay for it. I am not sure the windows that we got are what we paid for. It is winter time and the windows are supposed to be energy efficient windows and they are condensational on the inside and are very cold. The owner has no customer service care at all. The workers who came and installed the windows had their girlfriends sitting in their cars while they were doing the windows and left my yard completely messed. They left the old window frames everywhere. I would never use their service in the future and would not let anybody use their service.

Baldwin Enterprises completed the work in about a week with a two man crew. A supervisor came out every day to ensure work was being done properly. He is expensive, but the quality of the siding and work is well worth the price.

It took them 6 weeks to complete the work. There were three crews that were sent out and only the third crew got it right. They left several windowless openings in our house which let in heat and insects. It was a bad experience and inexperienced installers are the problem. I called the salesperson back out here and he did not know that they were not done. The last installers were great guys. I will not use them again in the future.

The man they sent out took 2 weeks to do the siding repair. He had a visual disability, so I was being patient with him. He was also from out of state. He cut the ledges off of the windows so he could do siding straight down. He cut into a ledge on the porch and broke some of the windows. He cut a ledge on the inside of the house as well and well as where the wall meets the ceiling. I had his boss, Mr. Lam, come out to look at it. He took pictures but didn't say anything about it. I called in about the broken windows, they just sent boards out to cover them up. The guy that did the siding kept denying that he did any of the damage, but it couldn't have been done by anyone else. I heard him breaking the windows as he was working. The company did not offer to fix any of the problems.
Description of Work: He repaired my siding on the north and west side of the house from damage done during a hail storm.

I am truly sorry that you feel the way you do. When we completed the work on your home you were satisfied. I know this because we did not receive any money until the work was complete and you were satisfied. All of the issues that you mentioned were discussed with you prior to you paying for the work that was done. So as to not mislead any current Angie’s List members who may be reading this I will explain about the broken window. There was a wall on a back porch that did not have any visible windows. As we later discovered, this wall had a window that had been covered by plywood on the outside and sheetrock on the inside. In other words it was not visible nor accessible to repair. While installing the vinyl siding on the room, my installer fastened the siding onto the wall. The nail that he used broke the glass in the middle of the wall. We explained that to the member and it was fine. When we repair someone else’s work, we try to match the original design or style unless it was completed improperly. The window sills that we cut off should have been cut off when the original siding was installed. They have leaked water behind the siding for years. We explained this to the member and proceeded to repair her home in the proper way. The installer that worked on the member's home had recently moved to Oklahoma from California. He was not visually impaired. He has a lazy eye. Mark was not a vagrant or inexperienced and the member never mentioned any displeasure with him. We also repaired some siding that was not on the insurance adjusters scope of work and we replaced some rotten wood that was not noted prior to beginning the repairs. We did not charge her for the additional work that was done. We were simply trying to do a good job and provide great customer service. Our records show that we had only worked on the house for 1 week. I have invoices that show that the material was picked up on 12-10-10 and the work was completed on 12-16-10. Anyone who reads any of the other letters that were sent in by Angie’s List members can see that we do not operate our business in the way that you have described in your letter. We have treated you and your house with the utmost respect. I do not feel that you graded us properly for the work that was done for you. I would hope that you would reconsider the grade that you have given us because it is not a true reflection of how we treated you , your home or the way that we do business. Kevin Baldwin

Rick and Nathan arrived promptly on the scheduled installation date. Kevin came by in the afternoon to see how things were going.The work went smoothly with little inconvenience to us. They cleaned up all the debris and we could not be more satisfied with their installation work and the great service.
Description of Work: My home is over 10 years old. The original windows and French Patio Doors (2) leaked cold air in the winter and allowed heat into our home in the summer. Last February, all the windows (aluminum) and doors had thick frost build-up on the metal surfaces on the inside of my home. Kevin, the owner, gave us the estimate for replacement windows and patio doors. We entertained 3 other bids and decided to go with the Don Young product. The quality and the price are an exceptional value. I have replaced windows in 2 previous homes and I can say that the Don Young window is a superior product. If you are in the market for new windows/doors, seriously consider vinyl over aluminum.

These folks were great from estimate to completion of installation. Everything was done when they said they would do it and done very well. We received a call when the windows came in to schedule installation, a call the day before scheduled installation as a reminder, and a call the day of to tell us they were on their way. Installation took only a day and a half. It would be difficult to tell that the sliding door hadn't always been a part of the house. Nothing looks patched or out of place. The craftmanship of the installers were exceptional. They were very professional. Couldn't ask for a better result. Will definately use them when we get ready to replace the rest of the windows in the house.
Description of Work: We had a double window replaced with an eight-foot sliding door and two replacement windows installed. The estimate was given in a very timely manner, they came out within just a few days of my initial call, looked at where the installation was to be and measured the windows to be replaced. It did take a long time (4-5 weeks) to get the windows made, but they told us that up front. It was worth the wait. Even though there was a lot of work to be done to install the sliding door, they still got it installed and the two windows replaced in a day and a half. They had to remove two windows, cut the hole for the sliding door, install a new header (etc) as well as remove and install the other two replacement windows. A lot of work, but all done very well, high quality work and other than dust, nothing to have to clean up. VERY GOOD WORK!! As for the quality of the actual door and the windows, EXCELLENT. Good quality craftsmanship and looks like they will last a very long time. The lifetime warranty from Window World is an added bonus. .

I used him because at the time he had a top rating with the Better Business Bureau. The owner is very personable and professional. You seemed to know what he was doing and he is a nice guy. They did what they said they would do when they said they would do it in the manner they said they would. There were no surprises and they did it in less time than was anticipated. It was just a good experience. I will use them again in the future.

Everything went fine. They sort of struck me as rag tag; they are subcontractors and don't strike confidence in you when they show up in their pickup truck for the job. The work was acceptable, however. I will not use them again in the future.

Overall the expereince was very good. They started earlier than promised which was very nice. The installers did have some struggles fighting the heat on the second story so I wish I would have waited until it was a little cooler because it was horrible hot on our black roof which slowed down progress. I will definitely call Baldwin Enterprises again when we are ready to have our eaves and soffets done - which will leave us with a no-paint exterior! Our house looks great.
Description of Work: They put siding on a newly built 12x16 shed and two existing dormers on the second story. One has a french door, the other just a window. They did an excellent job and the house and shed look great. We used the polar product which added additional insulation to the outside of the house and seems to be keeping those rooms a little cooler.

One started, project was done in a professional manner.
Description of Work: Product was very good. Missed start date by about two weeks. Only had facia and one gable sided. Took about 10 days to finish. Gutters and leaf screen were finished on time (after the siding was completed). Am little pricey but very good results (finally).

I apologize for the delay in the start time, We try to pinpoint a start time but it is a only n approximate time. We strive to give every customer our full attention once we have started the work. Sometimes additional work is needed that wasn't expected or the customer hadn't thought about doing when the project was in the planning stages. As to the price, I would rather explain my price once than to apologize for the quality for years to come. We have been in business for over 20 years and are not planning on going anywhere. With the storms and the high volume of work that we completed, the year finished up with great success. Although we like to get all A's, receiving a B for something that is out of our control and could have been much worse is ok

I called Baldwin for an estimate, because of the "A" rating angies gave them, and Stephen came out shortly after the call on March 3rd. We set up the appointment for march 30. I looked over the color selection and stephen told me of a house( with the same colors I had looked at), they were doing blocks away from my house, and that job looked great. I called later an asked about darker colors, stephen was out to my house within 45 min. with the colors I really wanted. Every time I called, stephen returned the call very quick. I also had them recap 2 window frames ( that were wood). one was on the south side corner the other east side corner. There was also have another window on the south side and they recapped it to match with the newer trim, without cost and said they wanted it to match. That was unexpected and nice. The two men who put the siding on were nice and cleaned up all the old siding, etc. I will use them again to reside the rest of my house, which I can do section by section which is GREAT. I can do what I can afford a bit at a time.
Description of Work: I needed one gable of my house resided. They removed and replaced the old siding, installing Mastic dutchlap colonial yellow with evergreen trim. I also had them install 2 window facings( what I would capping the wood trim around 2 windows), and one octagon gable vent. it did take1 1/2 days to complete, only because one of the workers house had caught fire.
