the building process was horrible. Example: stairs built and then torn out, rebuilt, walls in the wrong place, shoddy workmanship. Uneven tile floors. Some of these things were fixed after a fight. Poor communication by supervisor. Leaking in roof, several areas including kitchen & bedrooms. After close: major leak in 1 bedroom that was "fixed" under warranty - it is leaking in the same area again into the BR wall. Calls to Shaw-someone came out a month ago-we've heard nothing since. Other problems in the last 5 years- leaks in kitchen plumbing, cracks in master fiberglass shower floor-not supported correctly-had to be replaced, we chose marble this time-our expense 2000+. Last spring our under mount sink FELL OUT! We replaced it , the man who did it said he'd never seen anything so poorly done. This is a short list of the problems we have encountered. There have been others as well. Most aggravating is the attitude of pretty much everyone has - in other words(these people are a pain) if we ignore them long enough they'll go away. The only person that seemed to care & be responsive was the man sent to try to fix the messes. I could never recommend Shaw Homes to anyone.
