A gentleman came out promptly as promised. I showed him the part that I could order online for $24 and asking if you could replace it. He informed me they did not have the part in stock and they would have to order it and my water would be off for a few days but he could go back to the office and get a replacement part. I told him that would be the best possible choice. He was very nice and courteous, professional and I was very happy with his attitude as I felt he was honest and trying to give me the best choice which I agree to. He went and got the part come back and installed it. I had a very slow leak in another faucet and I asked him if he could put the part in to stop the leak. He said he would have to shop and get the low part and it would cost about $90 worth of time which I said leave it as is. He had discussed with me earlier that in order to put the new part in he would have he would have to cut part of the lumber that went around the tub and it wouldn't hurt anything even though it had a middle support in part of the wood which I agreed to as I did not want to go a couple or three days without water while they ordered the original parts. In a few days a lady called and asked me if I was happy with the work I told her the gentleman was nice and the only thing I wished would've been different was he wouldn't of had to cut the lumber in the wall. A few days later a gentleman called me advising me he was a manager and heard I was complaining and asked me what was my problem. I told him the story and he very rudely told me that he was a housebuilder and that he put lumber and support beams in houses all the time that didn't need to be there. I told him I wasn't wanting to argue with him and he told me I was the one calling and complaining. I advised him I did not call the lady called me and and I didn't want to argue with him as I was just giving what I thought would have been better, like not cutting the wood in my wall to make the work easier to get to.

I was very upset to come home on a Sunday evening to find water on my hardwood floor. We called the company that plumbed our house, but that guy was not interested in coming out on a Sunday night. On Angie's List, I discovered that Mullin Plumbing has 24-hour emergency service. A technician was at our house within about an hour of our call. He spoke with my husband and checked several faucets, and found that we had a slab leak. He said he didn't have the equipment necessary to locate it, but that someone could be at our house the next morning to find it. Israel appeared at my door step promptly at the hour we agreed. He came at the same time the disaster restoration crew was there, but was able to locate the leak within a 4ft sq. span. After the construction crew removed cabinets and appliances, and the restoration crew removed all the wood flooring, Israel came back to fix the leak. He constructed a small, plastic tent to contain the dust from drilling the concrete. Within a few hours, the pipe with the leak was found, replaced, and the concrete patched. The patched area was no more than about 2ft x 1ft. After the job was finished, Israel rechecked the house for any other leaks, and found none. He was polite, punctual, quick and did an excellent job.
Description of Work: Came out on a Sunday night after we found water under the kitchen island counter. The technician discovered that we had a slab leak. We scheduled an full search for the location of the leak the very next day. Mullin fixed the leak.

Response from Mullin Plumbing Inc
Dear Ms. [member name removed], Please let me start out by apologizing for any inconvenience that you have encountered when calling into our office. I have spoken with both our dispatch and service manager and the criteria for any diagnostic/discovery work is $97.00 an hour. I am not sure where or how the "up front" charge came up but charges are due upon completion of the diagnositc/discovery service; however our sevice reps are required by our current program to acknowledge how the customer will be paying at time of service before they can complete the service call. Then once we have found the problem we will relay to the customer and if the customer chooses to go with our service then we take the charges for diagnostic off of that price. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience and will make sure to address this again with our dispatch so that they are not requiring any "up front" fees and making sure the customer understands our process. Sincerely, The Mullin Team

Description of Work: Replaced the hot and cold water faucets in our utility room for the washer. He came in looked at the set up, realized he needed additional parts, tole me this and said he needed to go get the correct parts. He was gone about 20 minutes. When he returned, he got right to work and the total job took about an hour and a half. Very professional, cleaned up and did a great job. I would use them again. A good local business.

Very pleased. Having plumbing issues in your home is never fun, but getting the solution fast and in under $100 is amazing. Especially when you are staring at sewage coming up from your bathtub drain and trying to figure out how to get you and your kids clean/ready for work/school.
Description of Work: We had a backup in our main sewer line. Obviously, toilets were not draining, but we have 3 kids and they had to use facilities. We tried basic drain remedies that would work for a few hours, but then we'd find the "stuff" coming up through the downstairs bathtub drain. SO, that's not good... Called Mullin the next morning at 8, they were there by 11 and had it fixed before noon! Excellent work! Very professional and personable and respectful of the our family space.

Damien Zapata from Mullins Plumbing came out and found a slab leak for us. Super nice and professional. We actually did some of the jackhammer and digging work our-self to reduce the cost, and he was fine with that. Work was done over a couple weeks. I am very satisfied with the work done and I felt very comfortable having the Mullin employees in my house that came.
Description of Work: We initially called to have a static pressure test done before getting foundation repair done. A leak was found with just a camera though and we had the work done. They dug up the leak in our bathroom and fixed it. Had it inspected. raised our cleanout. Then came back and did a static pressure test. Where we found out we had another leak under the sink in the other bathroom. They jackhammered and dug that leak out and fixed it. Had it inspected. Then the pipes passed a static test. Then filled and concreted the holes.

We called them to make sure it was full and so it was done correctly. When he arrived the only thing he did was light the pilot light. I didn't think they would charge me for the full hour when he was only there for five minutes. I wasn't happy that they wouldn't honor the Angie's List coupon because I didn't have it printed off. I couldn't print it off because I got the information about the coupon while I was on the phone with Angie's List. They could have asked more questions while they were on the phone with me to avoid this.
Description of Work: There was a sign on my water heater that said "Do not light pilot until water heater is full". We didn't want to light it until someone made sure it was correct. He came and had to only light the pilot light.

The static test went well. They determined there was a leak and suggested they use their camera right there on the spot to find the leak. I figured we might as well since they were already there and it was going to have to be done eventually. It took him some time but he determined to the best of his knowledge the source of the leaks. I was not home when he completed the job, so my wife spoke with him. He verbally indicated and wrote a few sentence determination on our invoice. They said they would follow up with a quote for full repair but i never received it. I called and reminded them and they promptly sent my a one page work order / release basically saying that it would cost at least $1400 to fix. There were no specifics. I called again and asked for a detailed report for the location of the leaks and they informed me they would rerun the camera when i approved the job. I said why rerun the camera if i already paid them $600 to do that in the first place. i received no good explanation. They provided no pictures or diagrams of suspected leaks. Why? So basically, if i decide to get the leak fixed, I have to use them. otherewise i'll have to pay another company to run a camera. Also, to do the static test, the plumber had to take remove two of my toilet bowls. when he put them back on he just plopped them right back without changing the seal. sure enough, they leaked like crazy. at least mullin came back and repaired at no charge.
Description of Work: I called mulling plumbing to do a static pressure test on the drain side of my plumbing at the recommendation of a foundation company. They did that test and follow up camera work to detect the location of the leak.

I was in full crisis mode and very worried. I felt a lot better when I realized that he was confident about his ability to do the job. That always gives the customer a sense of security, knowing that the professional knows what he's doing. As a side note, the only problem I have is that after completion of the job, I needed to get the hole in the floor of my laundry room repaird. I heard that Mullin also does remodeling so I contacted them to inquire about an estimate to repair the floor and install new tile. Someone came out to look at it, but I never heard from him with an estimate. Maybe my job was too small for them to take? I'll definitely use them again for plumbing issues, not so much for remodeling work.
Description of Work: I awakened at 2 a.m. to the sound of rushing water under my house. I called Mullin and someone came right out. He assessed the situation and found that the pipes underneath the house were corroded and that the entire house would need to re-piped. A different guy came out the following day to begin repairs and apparently determined the job was out of his scope of ability. He said he would be back shortly after getting some parts but never came back. I finally had a call at the end of the day from a manager who said he was going to send a more qualified person out the following day. No problem but it would have been nice to know that earlier. I did not stay frustrated about that because the quality of work for throughout the next couple of days was outstanding. The plumber who ultimately completed the work was apparently very experienced with old houses and plumbing. He was very polite and reassuring and worked fast. He answered questions and was very professional. I know I paid a lot but I don't mind because I feel like I got my money's worth and that the job was done right.

Not good was told I would have to pay another visit charge to have thier problem fixed. Called company and they said oh well Robby. I guess once you get elected to office you know longer care about your customers, typical politician. No warranty service. Will never use again.
Description of Work: Had company come out and redo my drains under my sink. The plumber who came out did not have the parts and could not hook up my disposal. So I went to buy new disposal. Came back and then he needed a part so I went to get him a part all this trying to save him time and me money. So he puts the drains back in and I install the faucet which wasn't hard. Then last night I ran the dishwasher and had a leak in the disposal and from the dishwasher line. I called this morning to see if they would come back out and the Tech. said he would for a 1/2 hour charge. He said it was not his fault that he could not check for leaks and that had he been able to hook up faucet ( for another 100$) he would have known if it leaked? On the bill of sale it says to call within 48 hours if there is a problem. So basically I went and got the supplies the plumber needed plus he could not hook up existing disposal and it leaked. After he was done I pulled my faucet out and he said "oh you should have done that first" hello just trying to save a little money.

Mark provided the initial estimate, scheduled line locators, city inspectors, concrete guys, and did all of the actual work by himself. I was expecting it to take several days with just one guy on the job but was very happy that Mark completed the work in one day and had inspectors followed by the concrete guys out on the second day. Mark is a one-man-show! Mark was very professional and answered all of my questions before, during and after the job was completed. I felt confident I had made the right choice to go with Mullins and I was not disappointed. This very big (and expensive) project is behind me now and I can rest easy knowing the job was done right.
Description of Work: Called Mullins out to give an estimate on replacing about 15 feet of a substandard material called Orangeburg that was collapsing with age and being invaded by tree roots causing frequent backups and line clean outs for the clothes washer area in my garage. Without the removal of this Orangeburg, I would eventually have back up issues happening in my dishwasher & kitchen sink. Mark with Mullins ran a camera thru the line and determined where the 2" cast iron ended and the Orangeburg began. The Orangeburg angled under a section of the house that had been added on about 30 years ago so it was determined that the section under the add on would have to be abandoned and beginning at the cast iron, new PVC piping would have to be laid to run under the concrete patio and make a 90 degree turn out in the yard to connect to an existing 4" line. After agreeing to the estimate, Mark arranged line locators to arrive and mark lines on Oct 15th and Mark arrived, as promised, on the 17th to begin work. He used a concrete saw to cut a 12-16" wide path from the back steps to the end of the patio (about 6 feet) and then used a small track hoe to dig for the line. After locating the end of the cast iron pipe coming from the house, Mark finished digging the trench for the new PVC piping. He installed the new PVC and a clean out trap and arranged for an inspector to come out the next day. With the work inspected & approved, Mark back filled and had concrete replaced by that afternoon (day 2).

whole house draining got slower and slower and finally wouldn't drain. Mullin came out and snaked all main lines, but no relief. They couldn't find the actually connection to sewer line. Main clean out was nowhere to be found. Had to have second guy come with fiber optic camera thing. they found the clean out, it was buried a foot under the ground. they rooted from there toward sewer line and hauled out a pile of tree roots - woosh - the whole house worked again. unfortunate it was the weekend. extra charge. unfortunately the fiber optic camera thing costs another $300 to use on a weekend. I will still have issues with a neighbors tree, but will try some root stopper stuff. the connect is 7ft under ground - not like I can go dig it up myself. After all of this, I still have one toilet and a shower that is being stupid.

We had a major leak in the front yard at the meter which turned out to be downstream of the meter and our responsibility. Since we had a home and appliance warranty, we called the insurance company who sent out their plumbing contractor. Since it was outside of the house, we were told that it wasn't covered so we told them to proceed. He had to return the next morning with a trencher so we had no water that night. The following morning, a man shows up at the house and starts to dig a trench from the meter to the house. Everything was fine until he knocks at the door and said that he had to go to the emergency room because he had internal bleeding from a stab wound he got two months ago. No more wok done that day until the following morning when another man shows up and introduces himself as the replacement and also tells us he has his 12 year old son as a helper. After going outside to check on progress, I noticed that the boy was burying the water line a few inches below the ground. After telling him it had to be at least two feet below the ground because of the frost line, the man tells me "it's ok' I'll take care of it". That night I discovered most of the faucets and toilets didn't,t work because of mud in the line. The first plumber came out the next day and fixed that but I also told him that there was water in the meter and valve cans and I suspected it was leaking. He said he would come back and check the next day which he never did. After bailing out the water several times with no success and after discovering that the water line was mostly buried just a couple of inches below ground, I decided to call Mullins to redo the whole thing again.
Description of Work: Mullins replaced a main water line that was previously installed by another plumbing company. I found the plumber to be very professional and responsive. He provided a high quality, end product in much less time than it took for the first plumber to install a water line that wasn't checked and subsequently leaked. I would definitely choose Mullins again for future work.

We contacted Mullin Plumbing and told them we had a leak in the master bedroom cealing. They called and said a tech would be at our house between 1 and 5 o'clock that day. They said they would call us a half hour before they would be there which they did. He arrived and looked at the situation and had to cut part of the ceiling away to see where the leak was coming from. He then told us what he would have to do to fix the leak and why the leak occured. He then left to get parts he needed and returned and proceeded to fix the problem. It did not take long at all. He was very helpful, friendly, informative and professional. We were very satisfied with the experience and would gladly use them again and recommend them to others.
