When they first came out they put in a unit that was too small so they upgraded to the top of the line for no additional charge. I would recommend them.

I got three names off Angie’s list, and I called all three of them, and they came out looked at everything, and gave an estimate, and I thought they were a better office. They made a better presentation, and their price was little bit lower. They just seemed better for the job. Their quality of work was excellent. I would absolutely use them in the future

Well well so he replaced a little module about the size of a soda can and guess what it worked yeah. I was a little overwhelmed by the cost and the hard sale on service plan but it saved me close to 8000.00-12000.00 for a whole new unit. Also this house is only 5 years old. So overall a very good outcome. They will be out tomorrow to provide service under the service plan.
Description of Work: Called this air conditioning company as a second opinion to a differant provider. The tech came out as promised and looked over system. I was expecting to be told I need to replace whole system as I was told this by previous company. When he got done he rang my door bell and took me outside. He showed me a wire that had been burnt out on a syllanoid?? He said he would replace it and then seee if that fixed my problems.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you, and thank you for speaking of your experience here. I would like to clarify for others reading this, the total ticket was $242. This included a $79 service diagnostic charge. The part with labor cost $163. The additional money paid was for the semi annual service agreement which allowed for a 15% discount on this ticket as well as any repairs, parts, or labor in the future along with priority service, no overtime charges, and two seasonal performance cleaning and tuneups. By having this service agreement, it also gives a lifetime replacement warranty on the part replaced. Again, thank you so much, we look forward to serving you in the future!

They did an excellent job, they get five stars. They were on time, took great care and made sure they didn't dirty up the carpets, explained the service pretty well, they went through the house and gave me a form where I qualified for some rebate. They were very professional and specialize in heating and air. They knew what they were doing and got it done correctly the first time.

According to actual dispatching software, the call took a total of 2.81 hours. The Total Ticket was $541. This includes a $79 Service Call Diagnostic Charge, therefore the Motor cost was actually $223 and the labor was $239 Which was detailed and quoted to the customer before the work was done and then approved for repair. The ticket also included the technician cleaning the blower wheel itself and a new run capacitor required to match the new blower, Prices are built from a national 3rd party company that averages pricing with average completion times, etc and is very fair in order to provide the knowledge, as well as additional overhead such as the van, insurance, benefits, support staff and other necessary costs associated with doing business as well as providing some profit in order to continue to be in business later if you experience another problem. This price also included all costs associated with this repair including having to drive to Trane and pick up the part, etc. Air Assurance only uses OEM parts. You might find General Replacement parts online for cheaper, of course with shipping and other charges along with not having the part when you need it most and waiting for it to arrive along with the additional work and materials needed to perform the work. . Our OEM parts are the highest quality made in the USA and come with a lifetime warranty. I'm sure the online would have no warranty and most likely made in another country.

They come out twice a year. They put a new AC unit in at the office recently and we've always been pleased with them. We have a contract with them so they come once in the spring and fall at the home an office. They maintain or repair our heater and air. They do preventative care twice a year when they come out. The good thing about being on the plan is that if you have an issue they will come out on the weekend or evening immediately even if it's not business hours. They're very reliable, they've done a good job for us.

I have been very pleased with them. They are very professional. Now since it's going to be winter, they will be coming in to check the furnace. If something needs to be repaired, that's not covered, and if contract, that's going to be an additional cost, but at least there is somebody watching it out for us. They never come in your house and they never put on plastic cover over their shoes. I always kid with them and ask them if they do that in their house. And they say no they don’t. They are always gentlemen and I feel safe around them. They changed the filters for me and it is of big help to me. They always come when they say they are going to come. It’s good so far and everything still works. They are very professional and know what they are doing. In terms of price, I really haven't shopped around. The quality of work is excellent. The only thing negative is that, every time they come, they have something to sell to you. I understand this is what they have to do and everytime they come they have a new gadget. They tell me I need a new thermostat and stuff like that. I would use them in the future.
Description of Work: I used Air Assurance Co for heating and A/C. I have signed a contract with them for every year. They come and check out our A/C and furnace. They change the filters and make sure everything’s running fine before the season. I have been with them for four to five years now. They were here last spring to check the A/C and will be here next week to check the furnace. They are responsible for coming and checking the units. I have used them for several years now.

Was disappointed from the beginning as the gentleman was late and didn't call although claimed he did twice. the estimate was nearly double that of another I had come out. He recommended i get someone closer to me as they were in Broken Arrow and I Live out near Prue but have a Sand Springs address.
Description of Work: Called for an estimate . was over 15 minutes late and did not call. said he did but my cell did not show any. estimate was nearly 3000 more than the estimate I got from competitor. He did try to get reduced but said could not match, it was the same unit from both.

Response from Air Assurance
The member lives in an area we typically do not service. However, to accomodate him, we did schedule an appointment. Because of the location of the home, out of city limits, our comfort advisor could not locate the home. He did call for directions and to let him know he was struggling finding the property, but the cell service was in and out. The member even admitted this to the comfort advisor upon arriving. As for the proposal, because the competitor was a small shop located in the town surrounding him, costs would be incurred for the extra travel time, etc, as well as even though it was the same unit, many other considerations were being proposed as part of the installation including ductwork, warranties, financing, and other cost considerations for a superior quality installation than that of the competitor who only considers replacing the "box". Many things go into a quality standard we hold high at Air Assurance in which we look at the entire system, not just the replacement of the "box". We have a policy of matching price apples to apples, but in this situation we were comparing apples to oranges. We appreciate the opportunity, and apologize we could not convince the potential customer of those differences.

I took a very careful approach to the planning of this system. I had estimates from 2 companies using 2 different A.C. systems and installation approaches. I was convinced that Air Assurance was the top quality installer in town based upon recommendations from a friend who is in the HVAC business, and based upon my interactions with Jay, the salesman who met with me and did the estimates. Air Assurance had a bid that was several thousand dollars higher than their competitor, for exactly the same AC unit and type of installation, with the exception that Air Assurance wanted to put in more delivery registers (15) in comparison to their competitor who was thinking about 10 to 12 registers. I negotiated the price downward quite a bit, but Air Assurance's bid was still over $2000 higher. I decided to go with the air assurance bid based upon my perception that I was paying more for a higher quality product. Jay was a very good salesman. On thing he said was: "You don't want to go with (that other company), they have a reputation for not following through as promised." I later learned that this would also be true of Air Assurance. I signed a proposal to pay $17,345 (before a $1200 Lennox rebate) for a 4 ton heat pump system with a high end "pure air" filtration system. Soon after, a professional named Mike was introduced to me as the man in charge of my installation. He toured house, making measurements and taking notes - I assumed to make a heat gain calculation (Jay had already done this, but I thought that Mike was just being thorough). I was told that we could start the installation the following week. In a day or so, Jay called back and told me that they did not make a factory curb for the unit that we had agreed to on the proposal, and that they wanted to substitute a different unit. I had obtained the engineering specs on the system that was to be installed (did I say I was careful in my approach?), and when I reviewed this information, it was clear to me that one could order a factory curb. I called Jay back and told him this. He said he would look into it, and when he called back he said, that sorry, he was wrong, a factory curb was available, just not by the next week when we had planned to start. I really wasn't in any hurry, but we decided to use a locally manufactured curb anyway, and went with the originally planned unit. I had asked for two things in the plan. One was to place the return grill in a less conspicuous place in the library ceiling "right here", I said. The second was to aviod placing ductwork in front of cut off valves for the hot water system for the apartment building ( the homeowners association had requested this for ease of maintenence). I futher asked to see the duct layout plan prior to starting any work. I received a plan worked out by Mike which had 11 delivery registers (not the 15 which Jay had convinced me that I needed for excellent comfort). I called Mike and talked with him about this. He said that he wasn't told about the 15 register requirement, and that he would work out a new plan, but by now I wasn't so sure that this was what I wanted - If Jay was wrong about the factory curb, could he be wrong about the optimal duct plan too? I had now had 2 different pro's work out plans with the 10-12 range of delivery registers, and adding registers definitely jacks up the price of the system. I told him to just let me study the plan he had already done, and not work out a new one. I called my friend, the HVAC professional, and asked him to go over the duct plan with me. Well, he came up with a 12 delivery register plan too, but I could tell that he was shooting from the hip, without doing a heat gain calculation or referring to any engineering specs or anything. I really wanted an excellent system installation, so I decided to take things into my own hands. I went to the internet, downloaded a heat gain calculation program, took my own measurements and made my own calculations (I am an engineering-type). I worked out the CFM requirements of each room, and decided to go with Mike's plan with only a couple of modifications. I went over this plan with the lead installer James, I called Jay and he agreed to adjust the price of the installation downward based on using fewer delivery registers. Finally we were ready to start. My HVAC pro friend suggested that I watch the installation process closely: "Anything can go wrong, even starting with placing the unit on the roof backwards.", he said. So, I was there when the crane came to place the unit on the roof, and I asked James if this was the proper orientation for the unit before it was placed - and he said yes, this is how we want it. Later, after the crane was gone, I saw that the unit was oriented 180 degrees off that specified in Mike's drawn-out plan. I asked James if he could still put the return register in the place that I wanted in the ceiling, and his reply was something like : it may be hard, but I think so, or I will do my best. I was disappointed with this first day's work, and ultimately the return had to be placed exactly where I didn't want it to go because of Jame's on the spot decision to ignore the plan. Later we discussed it, and he did have a reason (condensate drainage), but I was not part of the decision to change the plan, and I didn't like it. At first I thought that he just made a mistake. I vowed to myself to watch more closely over the next week or so of installation. Over the next few installation days I had to stop James multiple times to make sure that he didn't deviate from the plan that we had so carefully worked out. It was obvious that he was used to just flying by the seat of his pants on the installations and that he rarely came across anyone as exacting (you are probably thinking anal retentive) as me. He was going to route ductwork right in front of those cut-off valves that we had made clear were to be avoided and I made him change that. He was going to install inadequately sized delivery registers (too small) that were based on the 15 register plan because that was what was ordered instead of what was on Mike's plan (with my modifications). I stopped him from doing that too - it would have resulted in either inadequate airflow or unacceptible noise due to higher than optimal air velocity rates at the registers. There was never a day that I wasn't upset about something James and crew did during the installation. It got to the point that I didn't believe a word that he told me, and I felt it necessary to check everything that he did. I told him this to his face, in no uncertain terms, and yet he still performed shoddy work. I found leaks around the plenum and around the delivery boots. I found a 2 inch gap over the filter assembly that he fabricated, allowing dirty air to pass around the filter an onto the coils. I made him replace register covers that were warped by over-tightening. I had his supervisor come and see all of the things that I wasn't happy with (see list below), and made them come back for a day of remedial work, and they still did things I didn't like. An example of this was a long run of duct that was inadequately supported by strapping from the roof deck, which they were to fix. I went up in the attic to check this repair, and it wasn't fasted well enough to support the weight. They repaired it when I pointed it out to them (for the second time). The installation supervisor asked me to make a list of things that I wasn't satisfied about. This is what I gave him: 1) I do not have all metal ductwork. I allowed myself to be talked into flex for the returns. (James had a reason for this, but I'm not sure that I believe him - I think that it was just failure to plan) 2) The main return in the center of the house comes off the plenum at a sharp angle, and doen't have a rigid elbow to insure good airflow. 3) I have R6 insulation on all delivery ducts instead of R8 as written in the proposal. 4) There are significant air leaks at the delivery plenum. 5) The delivery run to the living room is not properly supported. 6) There are 2 delivery boots with air leaks at the point where they contact the ceiling on the attic side. 7) The pure air system was not installed. The substitue system may be adequate, but no one told me about the substitution - I found out by observing the installation and inquiring. (This system is not equivalent - there was no carbon filter component) 8) The return register in the library was not where I originally requested it to be. 9) A balancing procedure was not followed at the end of the installation. To Air Assurance's credit, they did fix items 4, 5, 6 & 9. They offered to fix item 3, but by then I didn't want James in the attic any more than absolutely necessary, and instead they agreed to adjust the price another $1500 downwards to make up for the discreprancies in what was done and what was promised. James had "painted himself into a corner" on items 1, 2, and 8 and I just had to agree to let these slide. Apparently the pure air system couldn't be put into the system unless it was mounted in a different way (sideflow instead of downflow) but this wasn't explained to me beforehand. Later I noticed that the fan never cycled off, so I had to have a service call to replace a bad circuit board. The service man did not have any record that I had paid for the extended service protection plan, and he was going to charge me for labor, but he let me off when I showed him my receipt. Now everything works great. I feel like I had to drive a stubborn mule over 50 miles of bad road to get the great installation that I ended up with. I am ultimately very disappointed with the workmanship, planning and execution of the project by Air Assurance. I am still waiting for my Lennox rebate, by the way. It has been just under 3 months, so I guess it is still coming.
Description of Work: Complete installation of new central air (heat pump) system new including ductwork. I origially contracted for all metal ductwork, but only the supply ducts ended up being rigid sheet metal, the return system was all in flexible duct. This was a roof mounted "package" unit. I live in an apartment buildiing (condo) on the top floor. All of the ductwork is located in the attic space.

Response from Air Assurance
We can admit to some miscommunication with this customer. This was a very complex job, outside the realm of a typical installation. One thing that the member could not ever understand that on a retrofit application, many modifications are made throughout a job on many determining factors. We would have thought the member understoood this, as we were asked many times throughout the job to make modifications to the original plan that were not part of the original job. It would be easy for a company to say no to these modifications, etc but we always gave the customer what he wanted. These changes were made by the request of the member along with his "in the business" friend, of which we always accomodated. Many of the things noted were noted before completion of the job and would have been addressed by our thorough quality inspection before the full completion. We wish this friend would have wrote this response, as he has told us what an amazing job, and craftsmanship we performed in this application. In fact he noted it was one of the best installations he had ever seen, and admitted that nothing in a job like this goes as planned. Not only that, but since then we have been referred by him and the member to two other homeowners within the same building in which we have installed new systems for since the members completion to complete satisfaction. Flexible ductwork was used because of the application in which noise was an issue, but the member is correct in this being a miscommunication in the beginning between the sales staff and the project coordinator. EVERY single request made by the member within our professional expertise was given consideration and done per his request if it was possible, and after all was done, we offered to do it the way originally proposed, or (as was decided by the member) accomodated the pricing to make up for it if what was originally proposed was not done, even though due to the modifications asked of us, exceeded the original bid anyway with no consequence to the member. Once the job was completed, per the member request, the CFM was tested thoroughly and the results were exactly as planned according to the original plan needing no further adjustment or balancing, which is extremely rare with most projects. Which speaks to our design to begin with. To answer specific points the member brings up: 1. As for vents being different in a proposal vs what was planned: When giving an estimate, so as not to waste too much time, a load calc is not performed by the consultant until the go ahead is given. Therefore a consultant gives an "estimate" for what he believes may be appropriate. After the go ahead, all calculations were performed, hence the difference in what that calculation called for and what the consultant "estimated". 2. As for "shoddy" work, I believe much of this can be attributed to an 80 year old building with plaster and concrete cielings and walls, etc. Extra care was taken, but can not be perfect due to these conditions. Again, his friend in the business thought everything was extraordinary. 3. A factory curb could not be used due to the slope of the roof. Therefore a custom built curb was required. 4. The members ductwork is all metal except for the returns which was done with flex for noise considerations because of fire dampers that would have had to be used not allowing insulation, and due to the incredibly difficult space to work with. The metal ductwork has R-6 sleeve so it's little decieving, not giving a true R value of R6 taking into effect the R value of the metal as well. The return ductwork (flex) is all R-8. 5. As for the comment per the comfort consultant regarding the other company, we believe this was taken out of context. We noted that noone would give the follow-up and would be willing to stick with the requests, etc that were made until fully satisfied like Air Assurance would which we believe we fully honored. In no way would we ever bad mouth a competitor. 6. As for not using the air cleaner that was proposed, in order to do so and cover the holes in the roof requested by the building and the member, that unit would not have been able to work. The consultant would not have known this at time of proposal and any other company would have found themself in the same situation. 7. The return was not placed where drawn due to the feasability of that placement once the installation occured and to the location of the ductwork necessary placement. 8, As for the comments made about the things not done or otherwise, again, everything was considered based on circumstances and proper design considerations and again the system performed exactly as designed whether certain things were not done at the request of someone not in the business. Things noted as not done were layout to valve clearances and such. Clearance, etc was considered and followed, however the actual difference in clearance was not specified, therefore differences resulted in the actual space, etc.(3 foot done by installers, 10 foot requested after the fact by the homeowner. 9. As the member stated, the unit was switched in position due to the condensate drainage required, not because of "fly by the seat of his pants". 10. Grills were barely bowed, which is normal in ensuring tight adherance to the cieling of the grills. They were replaced, and as requested, even painted the screw tips from where the paint had rubbed off by being torqued by the drill. Again, anything at the request of the customer was done to his satisfaction or concessions were made to appease him in every way possible. This response is not written to be a he said she said, but an informative way of gaining both perspectives. Bottom line is that we did everything possible to make the member Happy, within the possibilities and circumstances of a retrofit application on a complex project, some unforseen until you actually get into the installation, while accomodating many different people involved outside a normal scope, even while exceeding the original proposal of time, materials, and labor within this project while still conceeding price and other accomodations to satisfy a customer. We fully admit that communication could have been better, while also noting that we stood behind everything we did to completion.

I am on a service plan with them so you get a discount. They spent a lot of time and effort cleaning my air conditioner; I could not believe it. They were thorough, professional and courteous and had a female tech that came out so I thought that was pretty cool. They made sure the job was done right and I will use them again in the future. I had one emergency situation come up and there was some confusion between their office staff and the tech that finally came out.
Description of Work: I use Air Assurance Company to check my heating and air once a year.

We have a yearly contract with them. They do a really good job. In fact, we had the capacitor go out about a week ago. However, it was like totally free because we had a service plan with them. Otherwise, it would have cost us about $400. So, paying the extra $40 wasn’t hard for us. They have been excellent. They are very nice, quick and prompt. We plan to continue working with them.
Description of Work: We have been using the services of Air Assurance Co for about two and a half years now for our heating and AC needs. Our last interaction with them was on the 1st of September.

I was so impressed with the knowledge of the company representative. He educated me. By the time I talked to Air Assurance, I had already interviewed two other companies so i knew that i was getting better, more accurate information. The technicians who installed the units were very professional and wiling to go that "extra mile". They cleaned up after themselves so well, I hardly knew they had been here. except that now my house is too cold !!!
Description of Work: Installed two new Lennox heat and air units. Caulked air returns. Identified and fixed existing trouble spots like the wall in upstairs heater closet which was open to the attic. Brought downstairs heater closet up to code.

Very nice and professional. Did not explain to me beforehand that air filters would cost $12.50 each before they were installed. I might have purchased filters from Lowe's if I had known beforehand. Not a big deal, but I like knowing costs up front so I can make a decision.

Response from Air Assurance
Our technicians should have given the cost for filters. Of course, they could have taken them out if you did not want the better filters at time of purchasing. The filters we use are built by our specifications and tested for the highest efficiency and airflow. Filters at Lowes, while can be cheaper for lesser quality, typically cost over $25 for like filters to the ones we provide. The difference is the rate of airflow ours allows, which is much higher than those at the Big Box stores. We only sell these filters because we know it will keep the system cleaner and allow for better airflow to prevent problems such as coil icing, low airflow, noise, and motor problems.

Replacement worked great and saved us about $40 electricity per month during the summer. The second year it stopped working. A line fitting from the old unit leaked. Air Assurance replaced the fitting and recharged the unit at no charge even though the faulty part was not installed by them.
Description of Work: They replaced the outside compressor and inside cooling coil of our AC unit.

My airconditioner is the original for my 35 year old house. I noticed over the week-end that it was not keeping up with the heat outside. So, I suspected it was low on freon. I called at about 10:00am to schedule a service appt... they scheduled for 4:00 same afternoon. Zack was there before 4:00. Sure enough the air conditioner was low on freon. I was concerned about where the freon was going, I had the same problem last year. Zack said they had a kind of "stop leak" he could put in the system that would work for small leaks. Since the system had worked all of last summer without issue, I assumed the leak was a small one somewhere. That little shot of stuff was just under $200.00. Then Zack put in 2lbs of freon on top of that. The system is working great! Zach had offfered 2 ways to do this... just pay for the service call, and supplies or buy a protection plan that would include a 20% discount and 2 semi-annual system checks for free. This plan had me pay a net difference of about $30.00 more. I bought the plan.
Description of Work: Diagnosed issue to be low freon. So, injected a "stop leak" substance into the system and then added 2 lbs of freon. I also purchased a protection plan.

A/C went out about 5 pm Memorial Day. Called at 8 am the next morning to see when someone could get out. They said they had a cancellation and scheduled someone to come out first thing. Zack was totally professional. Did not try to sell me anything I didn't need. Was totally pleased with the experience. I am looking forward to them coming back in the fall to do a check of my heating.
Description of Work: Checked system and found compressor and condenser fan motor not running. Found bad capacitor. Replaced and retested all. Everything tested ok.

I had checked companies on Angie's List and decided to go with Air Assurance. I called and set up an appointment to get an estimate on the work I wanted done. After getting estimate from Jay, I contracted an electrician to have the necessary electrical moved to the new location. I then contacted Air Assurance to schedule the move. Jody and Patrick arrived to move the unit. They looked over the area where unit was to be moved, checked attic access and the inside unit before starting to work. Work went quickly and smoothly, Jody and Patrick always put booties over their shoes when they needed to come in my home. The guys did a good job. I like the new location and the work Air Assurance did for me looks professional.
Description of Work: Moved existing outside a/c unit to a new location. Ran new freon lines including armaflex and linehide outside. Charged condenser to proper charge pressures.

I do want to note, all 4 of the employees with Air Assurance that I interacted with were very nice, polite, and professional people that I would welcome into my home at any time. They were kind of the phone, didn't take advantage of the fact that wanted same day service, and responded politely to my complaints. My issue is. I paid $70 for a diagnostic fee ($95 - the $25 coupon on here). They got the diagnosis wrong, dead wrong. Had I not been able to afford a new unit and decided that I had to pay the $1600 instead to have it repaired, it still would not have worked despite the large amount of money with the company being able to say, I told you so, it's an old unit and a lot of things go wrong on these (I don't know that they would actually do that, and the senior technician that came out claimed they wouldn't have made me pay the $1600 had the unit not worked, but that is what I was left feeling like as the customer). Another big issue I had was, with it being presented as $1600 to repair vs $4300 to replace, I would have replaced. However, had it been properly presented (with a proper diagnosis of what was wrong with the unit) as $400 to repair vs $4300 to replace, I would have repaired. Overall, they seem to be a good company easy to interact with. My caution is just to say, if it seems like an extreme jump, always get a second opinion. I was just fortunate that the weather was nice enough I could go for 2 days without heating or air. As for the "Would I use the again" response being "Yes". That is not to service my unit, but to replace it when my unit does reach the end of its lifespan as dubbed by my new go-to HVAC guy who only repairs. **UPDATE** I was again contacted by the supervisor today (4/5/11). They are going to refund me the $, not because I asked for it, not because of my review (I talked with them before I did this review) but because they felt that was the right thing to do. As for their response, I am satisfied with the way they handled this, and am "wowed" by the way their desire to satisfy the customer. Again, the only reason I did this review was because I used this service as my reference for them. Everyone with the company that I had any contact with was great.
Description of Work: My HVAC unit stopped working on the night of March 21st. I called both Air Assurance and Airco Services the next morning around 8:30am. Both were friendly, but Air Assurance was more willing to come out and Airco was going to charge "over time" on any service done on the call that day, so I went with Air Assurance. They came out the same day, around 2pm. The technician arrived on time, I took him to my unit, explained what happened. He looked at the unit for about 10 sec, took off a panel, looked at the date it was made and said "It was made in 1996, it is 15 years old, it's at the end of its life.". He went on to say that it would probably be more appropriate to just buy a new unit instead of getting this one repaired because of its age and things will likely continue to fail on this unit. He went on to take a quick look over the unit, noting my air filters are poor quality (ones that came with the unit that you clean and re-use) and it caused my coils to get dirty (he didn't even get a look at them) causing my motor in my fan to fail. I asked him to both give me a quote to get it repaired, and get me a replacement quote. His repair quote was $1600 because it would require pulling out the coils (it really would, you can't clean them in the unit) and the replacement of the motor. The quote for the replacement couldn't be done until the next day, so I also set up another unit inspection from After Hours Heat and Air owned by a friends dad. The next morning, the guy came out from Air Assurance and gave me the quote for the replacement ($4300-$5000 depending on the model). Later that day the other AC repair guy came out and inspected our system. It took him 1 min of looking at the system to figure out the problem, it was the circuit board, not the fan or the coils being dirty. He connected 2 wires, the fan came right on confirming the the motor was not an issue. He went on to replace the circuit board and my unit has been working as normal with me only being out ~$400. The guy from After Hours Air (the one in BA, not Glenpool, long story there) is a great guy, and had nothing bad to say about Air Assurance. He noted he knew the owner who was a very good/bright guy and I should just call up and explain what happened to the company, so I did. I talked with the supervisor that day, explained the issue and he wanted to come out and look at the system. They sent out a "senior technician" 3/25 to "re-evaluate the unit". He actually took a lot more thorough look at the unit, using a camera to look at the coils (they were a little dirty, not dirty enough to justify the $800 to remove them and clean them as the technician agreed) and verified that the unit was working well. I haven't heard anything back from them yet.

Response from Air Assurance
We have visited with Member. We have refunded his $70 as well as given him a full year service agreement and a dinner on us for our mistake. I believe Member is satisfied in the way we have handled this mishap. Bottom line, we are human, and our technician made a misdiagnosis. We have used this opportunity for training and appreciate Member for letting us know so that we could do this. There's not a lot more I can say in response to this post because we did in fact make a mistake and there is no excuse. Our goal is to "wow" the customer, and we certainly did it in the wrong way on this particular call.
