The technician from Air Assurance was outstanding. I think his name was Mike. He was extremely professional. He was new to the Tulsa area and he was very well credentialed when the company hired him. He was probably the best HVAC technician I have ever met.

They are pretty good about getting the maintenance visits scheduled, calling when they are on their way, and showing up on time. No complaints.
Description of Work: We are on the ESP Agreement which costs us $248 per year (we have one furnace and two A/C units). The cost covers 2 visits each year to perform maintenance.

It went very well. I called them for a maintenance agreement. The cost was very good. They were there on time and they were very clean in what they do. They did a good job. The guy was very efficient, on time and very professional. They did an excellent job.

Stephen Taylor was my customer service representative. He was excellent. His response times were fantastic. He would even return email after hours, sometimes as late as 11 PM. Their quote was up front, with no real hidden fees. The job was done on time. I've lived in house for about a week now, and so far I love the system. There were some tweaks that needed to be done after I moved in, and they were very responsive and fixed the issues that I was having quickly. Their price was fair, certainly not the lowest bid I got, but I've learned in the construction business you pretty much get what you pay for. We will see if my investment in geothermal pays off...

The man on the phone, Jimmy, told me that no work would be done or parts provided without first consulting me - the only mandatory charge was the diagnostic fee. When the workers arrived (quite punctually) they started to look at my heater and presented me with a charge for more than $120 more than the diagnostic fee. When I asked how that could be when I was promised a chance to say yes/no before work was done, the worker became stubborn and disrespectful. I paid what they asked but I would not use this service again. Jan 28 Update - The phone rep said no work would be done without my prior consent - the technician chose to perform work without my consent. The owner Mike Rampey(sp?) told me he would refund me 48 - which has yet to be received by me after 4 weeks. Also, last weekend I opened up the heating area to do some other work and found that one of our air filters had not been reinstalled. I therefore stil believe air assurance did 2 major things wrong: 1) perform work without prior consent 2) performed the work unprofessionally I thought a 48 refund was fair considering but even that has not been paid. Do not use air assurance. I find it interesting that their rebuttal makes this an issue of a failure to understand the valuable work Air Assurance did for me. If they had asked me in advance to do work that costs money beyond the service call fee, I might or might not have been able to decide for myself how much additional work I needed. In order to even get the unit to respond to testing, our technician needed to repair wiring that had been disconnected and not installed correctly originally when another company, or he had installed a part before. Due to the placement of the furnace, our technician had to take apart the flue pipe and other restrictions to even access the unit. Once repairing the wiring, our technician did find the blower wheel out of balance, at which time the technician gave him the choice and a price to fix it, of which he declined. Apparently, he wanted us to just tell him what was wrong so he could fix it himself. Which normally would be fine, however, in order to even find out what was wrong, we had to fix the wiring to even diagnose it. The member got his heater fixed for $100 total. There aren't many places he could have gone to fix his furnace for that cost. I'm truly sorry, he did not find the value in that, and I am very sorry we could not explain it better so that he could understand the situation better in order to satisfy him further.

We purchased a home and had to replace the AC unit. We have used Air Assurance at our current home and trust the quality and integrity of their work. They are thorough in the installations and follow up on each job as a quality control measure. We would use them in the future and currently have them do our annual service.

The service man showed up ontime, however, he hung around for hours and I really never saw him take anything apart or clean anything.
Description of Work: Very expensive for work done. Air filter charge was $149 and that was with 15% off. Found same air filter online for $92. Service man kept telling me I needed freon, however I never saw him with the equipment or tank for freon and was charged $135.

I'm very sorry you didn't see the level of service we provided as being a value. We obviously should have done a better job of showing you that value. I can explain a few things to you however. According to GPS, our Technician was there just a little over 2 hours. The service that he provided was two heating tuneups on BOTH of your heating systems. Your heating systems are Heat Pumps. These type of systems take extra time because they use both the "heater" and the "air conditioner" to heat. Therefore, we were actually servicing 4 units. As for the filter, yes, you can buy it online for around $99. I do believe you will also pay for shipping, then you will need to install it yourself. That is perfectly fine. We must sell it for more, because, unlike companies online, we have to inventory the item, pay for it's delivery, house it at the warehouse and on our trucks and install it for the customer for the sake of convenience, and pay for damages that happen within the process, and pay everyone involved within.. You can buy a steak at reasors for $10, but if you go to the restaraunt it will cost you more than $20. I encourage you that if we have the opportunity to serve you again, please feel free to follow the technician wherever he goes throughout the entire call and see what he does the entire time. I believe you will see the value firsthand.

The service in general was good, efficient and professional, nothing to say negatively about the professionalism and courtesy of the person doing the service.The only issue that came out was that the cost was more than expected, but since it was being brought up to code nothing to do about it.
Description of Work: The company was asked to do a check up of the existing installed HVAC system and perform any repairs needed to have an up to date system.They performed the service and found some items were the system was not up to code, which they then proceeded to repair

They called to confirm the appt, and showed up on time for the appointment. Checked the A/C and then were on their way.
Description of Work: Air Assurance always checks my heat and AC each year. This was for an AC check up. They always check things out completely. He mentioned that there was a part that looked like it was wearing, but since it was still working, I didn't have that repaired.

Our heater quit working. The technician came out quickly and showed us the problem. We were sad that it couldn't be repaired economically but the system was almost 30 years old. The salesman came out and gave us estimates for many different types of systems. They offered a deal for a replacement heater and AC unit. The salesman was very good at explaining every detail. The heater was done quickly since it was the middle of winter and was very cold. The AC was done shortly after. The workmanship was of very high quality. I also notice that my energy bill is a lot lower.
Description of Work: They replaced my ailing heater and gave me a deal for both the heater and air conditioner.

i was pleasantly surprised to learn about Air Assurance free 2nd opinion service call, to let me know if they thought my air conditioning had a problem. Bill called ahead of arriving, as I had requested, to meet me at the home so I didn't have to leave work any longer than needed. Bill gave me his opinion and also showed me what wasn't working right, which I appreciated as I like to try to understand how things work. He also suggested other things I could have done to optimize the efficiency of my home, which I appreciate knowing that Air Assurance does when I am ready to tackle those projects (more attic insulation, soffits to help with attic air flow).

Our a/c unit wasn't cooling so the company came and recharged the coolant. They had been out three weeks before to do routine maintenance and another repair so they suspected it may have been related to that and there was a leak in the system. The technician that performed the original work was coming to check the next day. The leak turned out to be a corroded evaporator coil and was well away from their previous work so we had to replace it at our expense. They came had the new coil in place that afternoon and the a/c is working great now. The whole system had been quoted as one lump price but since we had recent work I asked for an itemized bill, I noticed some items that were done that had also been done in the previous repair and when I pointed it out they deducted it from the bill. I rated professionalism down to a B because of this as I think it should have been caught before hand by the technician or the service manager but as repair and installation are handled by two different parts of the the company and it is large and high volume, I can see how things like that get lost in the shuffle. It was minor and if there had been an -A, I'd have used that instead of a B

We purchased a maintenance contract and during the inspection the technician confirmed what we had found, that the builder of the home had reversed the connection of our two a/c units and our 4 ton compressor was connected to our 3 ton chiller coil and our 2.5 ton compressor was connected to 5 ton chiller coil and was why we couldn't regulate the upstairs temperature very well and why the downstairs had trouble getting cool. They serviced the system and swapped the compressors and everything worked great. We liked that the technicians took care to use shoe covers when walking through our house and that they took them off going into the attic and outside.

Air Assurance was contacted to diagnose the problem. They came out and found the evaporator coil had a hole. Air Assurance added freon and quoted $1656 to replace the coil with no mention it might be under warranty or even bothering to check. We contacted Airco for a second opinion and quote. Within 10 minutes of their visit, they had contacted Lennox and found out the coil was covered by warranty. Airco's quote was $800 less than Air Assurance for the same job since it included labor only. Airco has completed the work at the price quoted in a very professional manner. We will not be recommending Air Assurance to anyone. June 2, 2012 Owner of Air Assurance did call and apologize as stated below. They even returned the $402 that was charged for their service call, adding freon to the system prior to repairs, and cleaning both units. Handled very professionally after the initial visit and my comments on Angie's List.

I wish we could turn the clock back on this one. Our technician obviously made a mistake here. One call to management and this would have been solved quickly. I have personally called this client to apologize. This simply is not how we do business. In fact, we are usually quite the opposite, extending warrranties for people who's equipment, (especially when purchased from us) has failed even after the end of warranty date. We have done this for years and won so many loyal customers becuase of it, and we simply dropped the ball on this one. I wish we could have made this right on the front end. Please accept my sincere apologies, but thank you for at least letting us know through this venue so that we can train better to our technicians in the field on taking their time in looking for potential warranty solutions!

So far I am very happy with the quality of their work, they are very prompt to come out when I call, they will clean up very thoroughly when they come out to do work on the units, they provided us the documentation for our rebates in a timely fashion, so we have been very pleased with their service.

Air Assurance has been delightful to deal with. I have been very happy with them. They sent me information about all the rebates available. I put in a new furnace with them, and they also corrected a few problems that needed fixing. I have been extremely happy with them. I think their prices are reasonable, and I have no complaints. I will continue my maintenance contract with them.

Their tech showed up 2 hours late and was not very professional. He walked in without knocking on the door each time he had to come into the house. It is okay if you tell them to do this but if you don't, it's common courtesy to knock. Every other service company I have dealt with always knocks on the door before entering at any time. Before he gives me the quote he asks me what the competition quoted. Um, excuse me that is why I have you over here, to provide a competitive bid. Of course I don't tell him, but then he gives me a quote $1000 OVER what the competition quotes. He tells me it is a two man job, yada, yada, yada and that he doesn't even know if he can claim the part under warranty because he is not able to provide a service history for the unit.
Description of Work: A competitive bid. I will say that I did mention I needed competitive bid and second opinion on the phone when I called. I explained exactly what the other company had said and wanted to know the cost. I was told that they could not rely on what the other company said and would give a free estimate/service call. So I did try to save everyone time and money. I was told the exact same problem by your service tech that the other company's tech told me as far as the problem goes. I am going to raise the rating since a rep did try to contact me. In the end, though, I was the last one to call and attempt contact and I did not hear a word back. I think as a company, you should accept criticism and welcome it - it lets you see how your company is functioning from your customers' point of view.

I am very sorry you found no value in our service. I hope we can explain a little further. Our dispatchers give a 2 hour window and also offer to call you before the technician is in route. This allows you to go about your normal daily activities without having to wait and wonder when or if someone will show up. According to our records this happened according to policy. We didn't realize we were there for a competitive bid. However, we were there performing a FREE, no cost, Second Opinion for you. This is so that we can do you a favor by making sure what another company told you was correct without incurring any additional expenses. After confirming the diagnosis, it is policy that should you have a repair quote already, that you would provide us with the information and scope of work that would be perfomed. This way we can compare apples to apples. There is always a cheaper price, but what work is entailed gives us better direction on what you are looking to get for the price quoted. This also would hopefully allow us to give you a "price match" on the work quoted, therefore minimizing the amount of inconvenience you have endured. We do this so as to try and help you in making your decision. I appreciate your comments about not knocking everytime we come in. We will certainly take that into account for additional training. Typically, most customers find this annoying, but rather allow the technicians in and out as necessary to complete the work. It is in fact true that manufacturers require a service history for warranty. Especially for major components such as compressors. It would be unfair to you if we told you it did include the warrantied part (which is the difference in cost of your comparable quotes), only to find out that the manufacturer would deny the warranty. Hence costing you more than quoted to begin with and upsetting the you even further. Auto manufacturers would not warranty an engine if the oil had never been changed. We hold to strict ethical practices required by the manufacturers for warranty. This ensures a great relationship with those vendors for future customers, etc. We appreciate the opportunity you gave us by giving you the free second opinion. We are very sorry we didn't explain all of this in more detail to you to make it more understandable. We have tried to reach you multiple times without a response to detail this in person, but understand your dissatisfaction.
