We have had so many problems with the home after Walker's "1 year warranty" ran out, and which he refused to stand behind, that I felt compelled to write this review. Starting with the largest, our home has an exterior of stone and stucco 360 degrees around the house. Last spring, I noticed that the water table, (separates stone from stucco), was crumbling around the house. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the stone work around the window well was also crumbling. I then noticed that there were a number of horizontal and vertical cracks along the exterior wall of the stone. It took three times trying to call Walker to get him to come out and look at the problem before he responded. When he did call me back and I explained the problem, he stated that I had a one year warranty and there was nothing he would do. I then had an attorney send him a letter threatening legal action before he and his sub-contractor finally came out and inspected the problem. He said that the sub-contractor they used for the water tables had so many of these problems that they went out of business. Therefore, there was nothing that he or his insurance would be responsible for. I went ahead and made all the necessary repairs for a total cost of $13,000. In discussing with my attorney, we thought we had a strong case, but attorney's fees to pursue it would exceed recovery value. I guess if your roof fell in after 5 years and defective material was the cause and his sub went out of business, good luck! We have had many other problems with the house that we did not even bother to ask him to cover. Some but not all are listed for the purposes of this post to give readers an idea what they are dealing with. We have had to put two new motors in the furnace, two repairs to hot water heater, filled cracks in basement wall, new sump pump ( cheap according to plumber). air conditioning unit Freon leak, plumbing coming out of house for irrigation system was not to code and had to be replaced, roof not vented properly over mast bath, sliding glass door to patio found to be defective, inferior interior painting, plumbing leak under sink, and numerous appliance problems. I guess my point to potential buyers of Olympus Homes is to get a thorough inspection and make sure your attorney writes your warranty contract. Warren Martin - Homeowner
Description of Work: My name is Warren Martin and I felt compelled to write this review of Olympus Homes in hope of helping someone else avoid the troubles we went through with Olympus Homes. We purchased our new home from Scott Walker (owner Olympus Homes) in August of 2008, and moved in on September of 2008. The home was a beautiful 3800 sq.ft. home in the Keller Pines subdivision and was expensive, but reasonably priced for the market at the time.
