Pro Cut Landscape Development

They did an ok job. One of the trees was not the tree that I ordered. It was a replacement. It turned out to be ok, but I really wanted what I ordered. It was unfortunate that I chose to put in a lawn during the driest summer in history - so that turned out rather poor. They did actually come back to re-seed and were very quick to respond on things, however.

Initially, three men showed up for work. We were under the impression that the soil was coming with the workers from the Pro-Cut's own site, but when the workers arrived we were informed that one of the workers had to go pick up the soil. We were limited to 10 yards of soil based on the rated load of that quantity in their truck, but the truck that came could only carry 6 yards maximum on each trip, at the cost of 2-3 lost man-hours. Additionally, the edging machine proved a challenge to keep operational and occupied two of the workers for at least a half hour. The lost man-hours for these two activities adversely impacted the ability of the workers to finish the planned work in the allotted man-hours as these activities were not anticipated. Discussions with the saleman regarding the lost man-hours resulted in the direction to the workers to stay for what the customer considered a fair amount of time. The saleman indicated that this was a learning activity for them as well because they usually quote on a job based on prior planning at the site. This did not occur on my work plan, though all activities were reviewed prior to the work being performed. In the end I was very satisified with the work performed by Pro-Cut. I would suggest that when a quantity of man-hours of labor is purchased a review of the specific scope of the activities planned to be performed and a specific understanding of how the man-hours are to be expended be agreed upon. In other words, if equipment does not operate properly or material needs to be delivered, are the man-hours expected to be covered by those purchased by the customer or absorbed by the contractor. If you were to receive a quote on the cost to have work performed you would not expect to have to pay more if the contractor had machine malfunctions or failed to plan for the efficient delivery of material.

We had a large wooded area and shrub beds around the house that required about 20 yards of mulch. This company used a blower system to spread the mulch which made the job go very quickly. We thought the price was very reasonable for the area involved and they actually did a good job. Only negatives were that they took some time to respond to our initial inquiry, they did not show up on the day they scheduled, and their initial estimate of the amount of mulch needed was way off. We had had the area mulched before and knew approximately how much it would take so we knew their estimate was incorrect. They sent out another person to do a second estimate that then was closer to what we knew we needed. We were happy with how quickly the job was done and would use them again

They used a blower system to disperse the mulch. It saved many hours and looked great. They were able to reach over 170 feet from the truck to avoid driving on the driveway. It was the easiest way to have mulch placed. The price was reasonable, especially since I didn't have to spread it.

I had trouble getting a hold of them. The first message was not returned, and they cancelled the first scheduled day, but came the next day. They did quality work and were professional. The price was very reasonable.

The company sent two landscapers for two days to perform the job. They took apart the existing retaining wall, cut the slope back, re-stacked existing sandstone rocks, and backfilled with gravel. They did a very nice job, and the end product looks great. They also cleaned up after the work was done and left the work area neat. I would use them again.

We are very satisfied customers. This is our second time using Pro-Cut and just like the previous service, everything went very well and exceeded our expectations. We certainly won't hesitate to hire Pro-Cut again for our landscaping needs.

It was completed in a fast and efficient manor

Great experience, purchase was part of an Angie's Big deal promotion; will use again

We contracted with them for the 8 hours for $249 to primarily to move stones around our pond. This was two workers for a total of 8 hours. They convinced me to spend an additional $125 to have a loader here to get the job done. They did a good job with the stones and were done in about an hour. At the end of the first hour, one of the workers came up to announce that they were done and were leaving. I asked if they were supposed to fill the 4 hours and he reluctantly agreed. We asked them to bury some flagstone steps in the landscape, but they barely put them under the bark. They were unable to finish cleaning up as their blower ran out of gas. At one hour and 20 minutes, they announced they were again done. I couldn't fight with any anymore, so I gave up. Also interesting, is that we spoke to them about another job to install a retaining wall. A man came separately and spoke to us about our requirements. Three weeks later I called and left a message to ask if they would be providing a quote and to talk about the other incomplete effort. I have never heard from them again. If they didn't want the job, a return call would have been a professional response. While I think the concept of the 8 hours for a fixed price is a good one, I will not do it again and would be suspicious of their intent. We paid our bill, and our extra bill for the loader, and never got a call back. I suppose that I could have tried to keep calling or find someone else to complain to, but my time was already wasted enough.

They were cheerful and compliant. They worked from the moment they arrived until they left. The man who pruned the crabapple was very good at it. The guys who did the hedges did fine but I felt they were doing it more as a task than from an understanding of the plant growth pattern, in other words, hard workers but not experienced gardeners. They did great on preparing the two beds however.

Service was very good. Crew was professional, cleaned up afterwards. Mulching has held up, was done to a good depth, and done with quality materials. During the busy part of the season they can be sometimes difficult to get a hold of, especially if they have to adjust their schedules because of weather. That's a very minor comment however. Would hire them again.

I was a first time user to Angie's List when I purchased this deal - $165 for 750 ft of mulch. I knew I needed much more mulch than that, so I purchased 2 coupons (different deals) for $165 each, not realizing the deal was only good for 1 purchase. When I called Pro-Cut to schedule delivery, I was informed that only 1 deal would be valid. However, after explaining my ignorance and being a first time user of Angies List, they indicated they'd work with me, depending on how many yards of mulch I really needed. I agreed I'd pay a little extra considering I had such a large area. We were short on time to get the service done because we had a trip to Texas scheduled to greet my son and his wife back from Afghanistan. Pro-Cut was heavily scheduled at that time due to their great deal, so Rich, the company owner came out himself on the Saturday before we were scheduled to leave, and did the job. It looked (and still looks) wonderful. He also honored both of my coupons with no extra cost. I clearly felt, he sincerely cares about meeting the needs of his customers (not all that common now-a-days). I will definitely use Pro-Cut Landscape in the future and would recommend them to anyone. .

They did an excellent job of weeding, plant transplanting, and planting of new plants that I had purchased. They also removed about 5 day lily plants. They were probably the most excellent landscapers I've had over the years. They did a great deal of work in a short amount of time. The young workers were very polite and courteous. I will continue to use them for various projects as needed. I would highly recommend them. They were prompt in returning my call for the service and came out within two days to do the work. They cleaned up after themselves and took the trash with them.

They did really well. They sent three guys who did an excellent job and worked quickly.

Our landscaping was recently destroyed due to a basement waterproofing job. I researched and purchases the trees, shrubs and plants that I wanted to have planted. I had Pro Cut come out to install trees, shrubs, plants, bulbs, level the beds and mulch. They followed my design plan as requested and did a wonderful job. They hauled away old damaged shrubs and cleaned up so we have a great new landscape. I will use Pro Cut for future landscaping jobs.

The job went great...a few delays for rain (go figure, we had a drought all summer) but it was done on time and on budget. They made sure nothing was left behind and it looked picture perfect. The owner, Rich Bing, came out to check on the progress as well. I will have them come out again this spring to do more landscaping. I couldn't ask for a better or more thoughtful company to hire!

I was so impressed! They mulched my whole front and side yard in less than an hour! I am a big gardener and they were very careful to work around my existing plants. I would love to use them again!

Poorly, the workers had only picks and shovels, no other yard equipment.

I used them as part of the big deals on Angie’s List. They were very good and very efficient. They got the work done quickly, were personable, and had some good suggestions about the other things that I could do or that they could do for me in the garden. Overall, it was a great experience.

The crew works very fast & knows exactly what to do without supervision by the homeowner. For all they accomplished, this was an excellent value. I used two coupons for 16 man hours of work & added another coupon for mulching. They came at the appointed time & did a superb job of cleaning up when they finished. Never before have we been so pleased with a service company!

The company came and used a hose to install the mulch. The completed the job quickly and efficiently and cleaned up afterwards.

The team was very courteous and professional, and cleaned up the hardscape after mulch installation. The reason they received a C for quality is because the mulch lost its color within a few months--the quality of service was an A.
