Pro Cut Landscape Development

It started out as having mulch installed. When the crew arrived to install the mulch they pointed out the weeds in my flower beds and recomended having the weeds removed before installing the mulch, which I did. I then decided to have my other yard work done and asked for estimates. The price was a little higher for the pruning, but they then matched the price of my other estimate. When the 2 workers showed up they took their time and did a really good job. They were at my house for almost 8 hours. I would highly recomend this company, They were very professional and did the work as stated in our contract.

We hired Pro Cut on two occassions this year. First to put in mulch in the spring and the second to do fall yard clean up. We also added on the removal of some shrubs. At every interaction this company has been excellent. In their scheduling, the actual performance of the work and in their billing. We cannot give them a higher recommendation.

The workers did a nice, neat job. The mulch was spread evenly around our front bushes. They cleaned up after they were done. I was very pleased with their work.

They were very responsive and professional. All the leaves were removed as requested and they did a great job mowing/trimming. They also removed and trimmed back some plants for the winter (which I hadn't asked them to do but much appreciated.) They also treated the beds for weeds so we won't have as much of a weed problem next year but were not able to actually remove very many weeds. Overall we were happy with the service and would use them again. Considering it was the week of Thanksgiving and I contacted them on Monday I was really happy how quickly they were able to get to us. Very pleased with the job. Only issue is they did not come out as early in the season as I woudl have liked because they were so busy. They compensated me by adding weed killer to the mulch which I felt was fair.

They were on time and very professional. I was concerned that with blowing in the mulch they would bury many of my perennials, but there were only a few that I had to rake away or dust off mulch and i have a lot of perennials and shrubs. They were careful not to get the mulch right up against the trees, since that creates a source of excess heat and moisture to build up around the tree. So the crew was clearly trained well and experienced. It was especially convenient to have them blow it in the back as they have a huge hose that comes from their truck which was no problem reaching the very back of my property which the truck was parked in the front of the house. As we have no access in the back yard to a truck, this was extremely efficient and worth the cost. I had pretreated the area mulched with a pre-emergent before the mulch went down. They were very flexible in arranging the time around my schedule. My only complaint was that I thought some of the double-shredded mulch seemed a bit chunky and would've preferred it to be more finely shredded. In past years we have done much of the front yard work ourselves and hired a crew to do the back. Though the cost was more expensive this way, the work went so quickly with the blower, that I don't think I can go back to the old way. Next year I'll have them do the dyed mulch which doesn't get so gray and washed out, but this was a particularly dry, hot summer, so though the mulch was discolored by the end of July, I was glad I did it as it helped keep the soil moist and helped minimize the need for manual watering.

I was very happy and would definitely call Pro-Cut Landscaping the next time we need mulch or any other lawn service. The men that came were very professional and courteous. The only part I wasn't happy about was that I had spent many hours edging my beds to keep the mulch out of the grass and they laid the mulch in the edges right up to the grass line. I wish I had specifically instructed them them to keep the mulch out of the edged grooves I had dug. That being said I was very happy with the whole experience.

We have a large yard with a lot of trees. We also have flower/shrub beds all around the house and deck that fill with leaves in the fall. The crew arrived as scheduled, worked the entire time they were here, and did a very nice job. We were very happy and will most certainly be calling this company again.

Arranging the appointment was a little difficult. To ensure i scheduled enough time and bought an adequate amount of Big Deals, I emailed a detailed list with photos after my initial phone call. I did not hear a response and had to follow-up myself. I was told that it was 'so much' he didn't have time to look at it. I was told they could try to get a crew out on a certain day, but to get an absolute confirmation was like pulling teeth (i have to schedule vacation well in advance, and all i wanted was absolute confirmation). I was told I would receive a phone call closer to the date, but I had be the one to initiate contact again. When communicating, I primarily spoke with Paul. I would leave a detailed message, receive a call back, and it was like he didn't listen to anything and I had to repeat everything. It's not a huge deal, but it's representation of mediocre employees and is far from a good customer service experience. So, instead of having to repeat myself, I emailed my questions and specifically requested an email response, NO phone calls because it was during working hours and I couldn't talk at work. Instead of responding via email, Paul would call. THEN, he just say, I saw you emailed.....and nothing else. He didn't read the emails just like he didn't listen to the voice mails. It's not a huge deal, but very frustrating and irritating. Day of the job, the guys got there around the time Paul had said. One was smoking, which i didn't appreciate anyone smoking on my property. It's also not professional to be walking around with a cigarette hanging out of your mouth. Paul had told me I was going to be in charge of the job and direct the guys to complete the project how I requested. In a polite and 'non-bossy' manner, I requested the guys to complete an area a certain way, the smoker seemed irritated because I didn't let him do it the way he wanted to. Mark was one of the guys on the job, he was extremely nice and also very knowledgeable. He was very enthusiastic about how it was all turning out and shared my 'vision'. As the day was winding down, I was out of time and the guys weren't finished. I requested to buy more time, and the company was gracious enough to allow me to buy some more time at the 'big deal' rate...but the job still wasn't finished even after the extra time. I'm not a subject matter expert in landscaping so i relied on Paul to survey my list of items to be completed and let me know if it could be done in the time I bought. I was told it would, but I still had to buy more time, and still in the end, there were items not completed. The overall work was very nice and the guys worked very hard. I just wished it had gone smoother on the business end.

They were very prompt, and came from a job in Hudson. At first we were very pleased overall. In a short time, we were slightly disappointed that the 'dark' mulch faded quickly. Then, we were billed for additional mileage, but when I reminded them that they came here from Hudson, they cancelled that additional cost. When the weather warmed up, after a very cold April, we found that some of our plants were completely buried under the mulch. Even after removing this extra mulch, some did not come back. I called to tell them of the situation. They were very prompt in bringing some 'magic' drops, and they came back beautifully. Overall, we were very pleased with their service.

Called to put on schedule, crew was here within a week. Mark and crew were polite, quick and thorough. Fair price. Will call them again.

They called promptly to schedule an appointment for me, we had a time arranged, then I needed to cancel due to another company performing this service without notifying me. Pro Cut was very responsive, eager to see if they could do other work for me, and then provided information for me on how to cancel the service.

Clarified where the mulch was to be applied and how thick. Very efficient and tidy with the job. Mulch quality was delivered per ad promises. Workers were very poilte and appeared to take pride in delivering good service. I will use them again next year. Asked for cards and passed on the information to several neighbors.

Bought the 8 hr spring clean up special on Angies List for $249. Also purchased mulch and mulch installation at the time. They did a ton of work and got everything I wanted cleaned up and trimmed up for the summer. While this service was top notch, the mulching service was even better. I usually buy mulch from a local garden center and install it myself but didn't have time this spring. The cost to purchase and install the mulch from Pro Cut was the same as purchasing it from the garden center.

They came in and did a great job. They got to all the places I wasn't sure they would be able to reach and then cleaned up after themselves. Great job!

Pro-Cut is a real Gem. They are truly a cut above the rest!! They are professional, friendly, accommodating, and willing to work with us to meet our satisfaction. They did such a good job on our front landscaping, the neighbor had them do his yard, too!! Paul Schwinn is a real find. He is the most knowledable person I have ever dealt with in regards to plants, landscape design, and nature in general. He had some great ideas and recommendations. He has a special appreciation for nature. The butterflies, humming birds, and insects that are attractted to our plants are a real pleasure to watch. He also helped prune the plants and trees this fall so that they do not become too over grown. We have also used Pro-Cut for lawn mowing, leaf removal and pruning. If you have any landscaping/yard needs, I highly recommend this company. They also frequently have coupons on Angie's list.
