Arrived to tear out concrete and frame in both area's, came back on Friday and poured that morning, around 12:00 pm a torrential down pour with hail hit, no way to cover and protect, did not have any tarp's or plastic. Came home at lunch and they were trying to remove the water, the guy working the front step's was trying to salvage it. Due to the amount of water. Came home at the end of the day and steps did not look like a pro did it, walked around to our back yard and found a poorly laid patio, did not look any thing like the neighbor's driveway which he said it would, including the circular swirls which were not there, the edges were not finished, the only thing they tried was to pull a broom across to finish. I asked him to redo his work due to how poorly the finished product was, he asked me to give it till tomorrow morning and see what I thought. Next morning went out to look at patio found concrete flaking at edge and about 24 " in off the edges, a very large flat spot with no finish ( 4'x5) area. Asked him to take it out and redo the work again, front step's looked amateur at best but would be functional. 1 week has past since original pour, came back and broke up the patio and left. Had to call and ask when they were coming back and he told me that they would be there on Friday ,1 week later and would pour on the following Monday. No show on Fri. called him 9:00 am Sat. morning and he said they were coming out today, they arrived about 1:00 pm and removed all the broken up concrete. Monday came and they were a no show, he told me he was coming on Wed. Called him mid morning on Wed. and he exploded on the phone when I asked him why he does not show up when he tells me he will be there on several different occasions. He began to tell me that I had no idea how much concrete was there and how much he has invested, but he failed to mention the $900.00 that I gave him up front when he asked for it and didn't question him on that. After that phone call I received a phone call from his father apologizing for his son's action's, he said they would be out tomorrow and reframe. They showed up early the next morning and framed it and the father called me and said they are going to go ahead and pour right now, 20 mins. later the concrete truck was there. Instead of having the half circle we asked to pour straight across and square it up, no estimate, cost and I asked for any additional cost, no response on cost. Came home around 3:30 that afternoon to see them finishing up and the guy was holding the sprayer with sealer in it. They packed up and left within 30 mins. The father came back about 5:30 that evening and asked if I liked it and it was completely different, looked good wet. He asked if he could pick up the check and I asked him how much and he added $700.00 more to the cost than what the original estimate was written for, he said he had an additional $700.00 in concrete. So I guess we paid twice for the concrete after he choose to pour on a rainy day. Next morning went out to look at patio and only 30% of patio was sealed, very poor job sealing and also have 2 low spots on each side of our doors that hold water due to not draining off. Would not recommend due to poor quality workmanship.
Description of Work: Tear out our front door steps and tear out our back yard patio. Pour and finish and seal our front door steps. Pour our new back yard patio ( 17' x 21') larger patio than our original. At the end of the 21' would add a half round for our bar-b-que grill. Raise up patio so you can step out on to patio instead of stepping down while going out on patio.

Response from BASS CONCRETE CONTRACTORS
Damage was caused by downpour. Took a few days to get back to redo job. Got back and re-paved patio. $700 was used to add an extension on patio. Finished job and customer paid me, and said he was satisfied. Customer did not pay for sealing of concrete we gave that to him.
