My house had been burlarized. The burglars didn't mess up anything. They didn't leave even a finger print. The police, on the other hand, tracked black crime scene dust up and down my white berber carpets. Needed cleaning right away and Stanley Steamer came out the next day. The black powder came out and the white carpets looked good again.

We were very pleased with Stanley Steemers! They were curtious on the phone when we made the appt and we even changed it a couple of times and they tried very hard to work within our time frame. The guys showed up on time and were friendly, knowledgable and even showed us a test on the tile floor which led us to doing those as well. We were dealing with a dog odor as we just moved into a house with previous pet owners. After they left we flet there was still a pet smell coming from the carpets so we called them and they sent another crew out to do it all over again for free. This crew was also friendly and got the job done efficiently and quickly. They even added extra deotorizer this time. After that the carpets smelled fine. We felt the price was fair and the service was excellent!

After the storms of Thursday-Friday, September 8-9, our basement flooded due to a backup water in our pipes going out to the storm drain. We had been using a shop vac, a dehumidifier, a small steam machine, floor fans, and about a thousand towels to try to mitigate the damages, but the water coming in was too much, and we ended up with a totally soaked carpet in the bedroom and the rec room. I called the company on Friday evening to see how soon they could get someone out to extract the water and use anti-mildew stuff, to see if we could save the carpeting, as it is not even two years old. The lady I spoke with was very nice, and explained that they were very backed up with appointments, but could get someone out to me on Wednesday. I said, "Well, that is o.k., if the carpet could still be treated then..." She assured me they had special chemicals they could use on the carpet for any mold or mildew, so I said I could wait until Wednesday. She said I would get a call from them before they came on Wednesday, so I'd have a timeframe. I arranged to work from home on Wednesday, since I didn't know what time they would be calling or coming. I just received a call from the technician, whose name I neglected to get. He advised me that the carpet could NOT be saved at this point, that there was nothing they could treat it with that would make it usable, even if we replaced the padding, they would not be able to get the mold/mildew out of the carpet after being wet for this long. I voiced my unhappiness, saying if that were the case, the lady I spoke with should have told me, so I could have had the option of trying to get someone else to come out. He was quite rude, and said that, at this point, it would cost about $300-$400 for them to REMOVE the carpet and padding, and diagnosing and determining if the drywall was ruined, and repairing that would be an additional cost, depending upon how much damage there was. I told him I thought we had gotten the worst of the water up before it could damage the drywall, but he said there is no way the drywall couldn't be ruined. He said he was taking appointments for people who know they want service rendered, not just for estimates, but they would give me the estimate before starting the work. I calculated our carpeting covers 725 sf of our basement. He said that cleaning would cost between $2.50 and $4.00 a square foot to clean, depending on the kind of carpet and how bad it was. Even at the lowest price of $2.50 per square foot, it would cost us over $1800 just for the carpet cleaning, not counting any other drywall services!! And, because he said they couldn't guarantee the cleaning, we could still end up having to replace the carpeting, which was Berber, and cost us over $3000 in 2009. I told him never mind. My husband suggested I call the office and tell them what happened. So I did, much to my chagrin. I reached Nathan in the office, who was totally dismissive of my conversation with the technician. He said, "I'm sorry you feel this way." I told him I thought, as a company, they should know that my perception was that I was being taken advantage of by a company that I used to have some respect for, but don't any longer, and that if this was what the rest of their customers were experiencing, they would certainly be losing a lot of customers. He seemed totally uncaring and unimpressed. As am I.

They never even came to my house or returned my call after they cancelled my appt

They are a little expensive. They do good work. Most of the time the work they do is good. I had a bad experience only once.

I scheduled the appointment online and they provided a 4 hour window for when they would come. They came within the first hour of the window, we walked around the house together and discussed the stains that were present. The lead cleaner was clear about which stains he thought would come up without a problem and which ones might be an issue. When I made the appointment, I requested extra protection for the stairs. Before they started the job, they recommended that I do the protection for the whole house and gave me a lump rate for the whole house after calling their supervisor. I decided to do the protection and paid less for the protection than was advertised online. There were 2 guys and they got right to work, taking about 2.5 hours to do the job. There were 2 stains they were unable to get out, but they provided some recommendations for how to treat the stain and see if it would come out over time using laquer thinner, which they said they couldn't carry on the truck. Otherwise they got all the other stains out and the carpets look MUCH better. Still some evidence of wear and tear, but I was happy with the result and liked the ease of setting up the appointment.

This was my first time having the carpets in the house cleaned so I wasnt sure what to expect. I do wish I could have gotten a timeframe for what to expect since the noise is very loud and the hoses running through the house means limited door closings. The work itself was fabulous, the carpets look the best they ever have (we had two puppies that made it quite dirty). The upholstery work was good, although I am not sure the abysmal chairs we had cleaned can give us fair perspective (as they did not turn out as good). The only complaint I have was that I was not expecting it to be like a car dealership experience where they pushed other services on you. I would have preferred and in and out no haggle experience. The work was great and they were very professional. Update: They constantly call with annoying offers and do not take me off their call list despite requests.

I called this company to get an estimate for drying my basement apartment after the refrigerator hose sprang a leak. The lady who answered the phone took my contact information and said someone would call back in 15 minutes. I did not get a call back so after an hour and half, I went to a meeting. My phone was off during the meeting so I missed four calls from them. Essentially the calls were that they were at my house and no one was there. I called back, and they said they would have someone to my house within 30 minutes. They arrived as scheduled, but the technician proceeded to berate me for not being at home and the appointment went downhill from there. He said that the carpet was ruined and that the padding and carpet would have to replaced. He went into the bedroom which had not received any water and said the carpet there would have to be replaced also. He said he would charge $1800 for removing the carpet and padding and for drying out my apartment. I told him I thought this was overpriced especially since I would have to contract with another company to pad and carpet the apartment. He said he could not negotiate on the price. I told him there was not water in the bedroom so there was no need to take up the carpet there. He said I was wrong. I told him I was going to go with another company, and I did. The other company was able to save my carpet and they only charged $800.

The service was done quickly and professionally. The guys told me the other services offered by the company and other helpfully information on maintaining the carpet after the cleanig. I wish I had known that landings and a few addional steps would cost more. I also realized after the carpet was dry, that some spots or heavily used areas should have be pre-treated, that as not suggested. Overall the experience was fine and I will use them again, next time I will know what to request.

I arranged the appointment via internet and got a confirmation e-mail right away. They called before they came and arrived on time. They were very polite and did a very good job. I think the price was a bit high but I was in a hurry and not able to check for cupons or any other offers. I would still hire them again.

The gentlemen were on time, clean and very professional. They accomplished the work quickly and were very courteous. I would use this company again and tell friends. Just watchout for the add-ons they can get you but I asked them and they explained them before they started the work but it did increase my estimated price.

They did a good job, and I was pleased with what they did. They were very professional and careful to move furniture and other such things. They put little things underneath our furniture to protect against stains on the rug. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

They did a very good job. They were excellent. When they found out they could not complete one job, they did not charge me for their time.

They are punctual and quick. They were available when I needed them to be. I would recommend them to other members also. I would use their service in the future too.

Frankly, I wasn't expecting much. About 10 years ago I had them clean my carpet in a townhouse I owned and all they did was bring in a steamer like the ones you rent at the grocery store. However, my carpet had many stains and high traffic areas that needed something done, so I thought I would have them come and see if they could do better than I had with my junior size scrubber. They gave me a 4 hour window for arrival. Since I had scheduled only the day before, I figured I would be near the end of the window, and I was correct, they came at about the 3 hour mark. The company did call about 1/2 hour before to let me know they were on their way. They sent a two person team, both of whom were polite and knowledgeable. The team leader was quite unassuming, and worked well with his partner, which I greatly appreciated. They brought a huge cleaning system that was hooked up by hose to their truck. They did a great job on some disgusting carpet. The team leader showed me how he was unable to get the high traffic areas completely clean and why. The stairs turned out beautifully. I did sit through a short sales presentation for their spot cleaner and door mat. However, after finishing and I said I wasn't interested, that was that. No pressure whatsoever. These were people to which I could relate and was comfortable having in my home. I will gladly call them again and request the same team if I need cleaning again.

They are very courteous, they made sure they didn't track dirt through the house and put things on their shoes. They did it quickly, I called them 2 days before and they came out right away. I had some pet stains on the carpet and they did inform me that they come up more when they did the steaming and it did look better before they did the steam. I felt like they could have done a little bit more on the pre-treating.

Standley Steemer scheduled my job on short notice. Employees arrived promptly. On-site employee indicated I had the option of a Scotchguard application, and I elected to do so. The results of the cleaning were good.

The person who came was nice though. Their price was high. They were responsive I would say as they offered to come back, and they did come. The quality of work was poor as the odor did not go and the rugs became wet as well. They were very nice to me though.

They wanted to put money in their pocket for additional things. It was shady and they were just trying to make an extra buck. I will never use them again.

I ordered the service online the website was easy to navigate. I was able to pick a date and time frame. My time from was 9 to 1:00. The crew called around 10:30 to let me know that they would be at my home at about 11:00. They pulled up at about 11:00. There we two men (Emanuel and Harrison) they were polite and friendly. They came in to see what needed to be done. They then hooked up a hose to the outside faucet that feed into their truck. Two hose systems (one for each man) were then brought into the house along with a hose that drained into our toilet. One worked upstairs while the other worked downstairs. The man upstairs (Emanuel) seemed more experienced. He cleaned the carpet in areas and backed out of the rooms and down the stairs. Meanwhile a supervisor arrived (George). He ended up helping (Harrison) with cleaning the sofa and chair. He also seemed to make suggestions to Harrison as he was cleaning the carpet. The one suggestion I waited for George to make, but he didn?t; was ?Instead of pushing that thing around, bend over and pick it up?. I found the fact that this man pushed this little thing (turned out to be a piece from a Lego set ) around and then pushed it out of his way, leaving it there on the carpet; to be unprofessional, maybe even childish. What if it was a piece of candy of something that could have melted into the wet carpet. The men were almost finished with the job. The carpets were clean. The nap of the carpet on the stairs was fluffed up and looking good. George left. All that needed to be done was to spray on the protector in the high traffic areas: The Stairway, Hall, Office and Living room. Harrison then proceeded to spray this protector solution onto the stairs as he walked up them, mashing back down the carpets nap. Aaugh ~! Was nice while it lasted. Also I have to say that I was disappointed in that the cleaning solution that they used doesn?t have a scent therefore the house smelled like wet rug, not like freshly shampooed carpet. They offered (for a charge) a deodorizer which I didn?t opt for. In the end I was delighted that all the carpet in the house, the sofa and chair were all cleaned in the span of about two hours and my back wasn?t aching. The carpets and furniture were clean. Not looking like new, but clean. I will most likely hire them again but, I don?t think that I will have the protection product applied.

Guys that showed up were super friendly. They cleaned the carpet in 20 minutes which seemed a little too fast. They did a follow up call in the afternoon and we told them that the carpet basically looked the same, just very wet. They immediately set us up with an appointment 2 days after the original cleaning to resolve the issue. After second trip out, the carpet came out good, but not as good as expected.

I've had the same crew several times; they do a good job, but nothing spectacular. I had to call them back for several spots. The carpet is 20 years old and the spots may not come out, but I didn't think they took the time to try. They are foreign and it was hard to get them to understand. I might use them again.

They have this new service where the clean the ceramic tiles. They did an awesome job in the kitchen. They try to sell you the add-ons. Sometimes they will give a discount on their add-ons when the come to your house. Overall I think that their rates are good and their workers are good. However I still watch them when they work. They are consistent and I would continue to use them. They are punctual and professional. They call me and keep me informed. Their price is competitive.

I did a lot of research before I actually chose Stanley Steemer. I?ve never used anybody else because I switched right from doing it myself to having them do it. When I used to clean the carpets myself, they never got cleaned, and that was because the machine couldn?t get everything out and you couldn?t always get all the dirt out. Stanley Steemer did a great job. They got a lot of stains out that I hadn?t been able to get out myself. They were also very helpful with my couch - I had a few kittens that were peeing on it, and they told me that even though they could come and clean my couch, it wouldn?t actually do me any good unless I replaced all the foam. I went ahead and replaced all the foam in my couch before they came out, and I now have a non-pee-smelling couch. I liked it that they told me what the problem actually was, instead of coming out and just doing it, and it not working. I think that they gave me a little insider information. The price was expensive but I think that any kind of carpet cleaning is expensive. There is still room for improvement in terms of their quality of products and services.

After my daughter threw-up grape juice all over our couch and beige carpet in our family room on Thursday evening, I went online to the Stanley web site. I was able to get a quote and schedule an appointment for Saturday morning (less than 36 hours later). I received and email confirming my appointment, a phone call 30 minutes before the cleaning crew was to arrive at our house, as well as a follow up quality-check call after they left. They were very thorough, professional and most importantly, did a GREAT job! Even more amazing... when everything dried and we moved our furniture back into place, we noticed they missed a small square (which was covered by the moved furniture). They sent someone back out to clean that one spot... no questions asked. I've had our carpets and furniture cleaned before, and Dave and his co-worker did a better job then any of the other companies.
