Overall satisfied. Did exactly what the special offered. Did not try to sell me things I did not need. He was so nice and I asked him to write down what he did for me. The air in the house is definitely colder.

The first gentleman came out and gave me a quote and was very professional and quick. I had already gotten four quotes so I was pretty confident about paying them to do the work. The initial installation was fine and the installers were very nice and cleaned up after themselves. It was approximately a week and a half later when this fiasco began: Beware of Sal?s Heating & Cooling. They have really great customer service until more work is required on their time and dollar. They deserve a big fat F! Sal's Heating & Cooling installed a ductless air conditioner at my family-owned beauty salon two weeks ago Monday, August 3. It began to leak last Thursday (August 13th,) not even two weeks after installation. After having a repairman show up after hours taking up three hours of my time, he thought he fixed a kinked line. Originally said he'd have to charge me because "they don't do warranty work after hours." What kind of crap is that?! What reputable company charges you for warranty work after hours and on the weekends on an air conditioning unit or furnace they installed not even two weeks prior? They never informed me of that rule nor did I sign anything on the contract signifying that I was aware of that condition. The repairman ended up not charging me because he thought it was faulty installation at first. So the air conditioning unit worked fine the next day until 3:30pm when it started leaking again. Thankfully, I was able to call them during business hours and they sent the guy who originally installed the unit to assess the situation. The installer was really nice but said my hair salon had an unusual configuration and they needed to install a bigger pump. In short, they want me to pay an additional $685. I said ?NO WAY!? I talked to at least four people from the company. All of them were really nice and polite. And most of them secretly thought I was right when I said there was no way in h*** I was going to pay for their mistake. The last guy I talked to tried to gently explain why I had to pay additional money because the repair required more electrical work. I told him that wasn't my problem and that whether he admitted it or not, he understood where I was coming from. I also asked would he would appreciate it if a business did that to him. I told this ?courtesy call man? if the problem wasn't resolved by 4pm yesterday, I wanted them to come take out the unit and give me my money back. In the interim, I wanted the owner, Sal, to call me directly. He promised Sal would call me. He never did. I would like for them to fix the unit free of charge. If they are not able to do that, they can come remove the unit and give me my money back. But it's hard for me to fathom that they would forfeit almost $5,700 for $685. They are NUTS.

I am very hesitant in responding to reviews like these as I am restricted by many things I cannot say with risk of confusion. This review has been written prior to me speaking to this Member and during a time when my assistants where doing all we could to explain that additional pumps and electrical needed to make this additional pump work and should cost additional. I have learned that if a customer simply don’t understand this type of business then you will never get your point across and it is just never going to be resolved. I have trouble with the secretly thinking she is right, reference, I ask opinions of all of my staff and value them. We always want a fair resolution and nobody thought we should do this at no cost and thought it was a bit over the top for the client to expect this. 99.9 percent of the time the ductless mini splits drain without an issue. For us to know this additional work above and over the quoted amount was needed the unit needed to be installed and working for this to be determined. Even though this Member and I didn’t hit it off and the constant suggestions I needed customer service skills training I gave up and to keep the peace offered the $700 in additional items needed. This Member also went back and read the contract again and admitted our warranty policy is spelled out clearly. Going to her salon at 9pm was another $300 or so of courtesy labor as this Member was persistent for us to come when her Salon was closed. This is a service that could have easily been handled the next day. The example I gave is if I received a bad haircut would you open for me to fix it? We all know that answer. Also if I installed a toilet and flushed it and it did not drain would fixing the drain be additional? Of course it would. This is not a mistake, this is additional things needed because of the application she has caused this issue and there is NO WAY to tell until the unit was operational. Change orders, warranty and any electrical needed are outlined in the contract if this comes up during the installation. I think the great price took the focus off the contract and agreement as it was signed and not read beforehand, even if she paid this $1000 she was far lower than any quote she got. Remember everyone, we all pay more in the future to cover the $1000 extra we spent to please this Member and in the future we will quote the unexpected like the other 3 quotes she received. It is acceptable for a quote to be exceeded in some cases but we try not to stick to the proposal. I am sorry for all the confusion but everyone has a different opinion and mine has not changed but we want happy customers and if you can do that with working for no cost and giving products away than hopefully you earn the business in the future to cover your investment. Contacted Sal's on Sunday morning regarding a leaking hot water tank. Spoke with someone at the 24hr hotline and she gathered all of my information and informed me that someone would contact me first thing Monday morning & that it shouldn't be a problem getting a brand new hot water heater installed that next day. It is now Tuesday morning and the company has yet to return my phone calls. Very poor professionalism. You shouldn't post promotions if you aren't going to return customers calls. A leaking hot water heater is something that needs addressed pretty quickly and this company can't even take a few moments to return your call. I would recommend NEVER using this company, especially if you need something done fast. They don't call you back!!! Update: Sal's did call me back about 3 days later. Informed me that they would be sending me a coupon for a free a/c inspection. 3 weeks later and that coupon has yet to arrive. Also asked me to change my review on Angie's List to give a better grade. Can't trust this company for any kind of follow through! Will not ever use, nor speak to this company in the future!

I had a tile floor put into my bathroom. The tile man took my sink out to put the tile down. When he put the sink back in he broke a pipe. He fixed the pipe but the sink no longer worked. I bought the coupon on Angie's list for $99 for 2 hours. I called on Saturday 8/15/15 to schedule. The lady who took my call said that in order to use the coupon work must be done during normal business hours. I said OK ans scheduled for Monday. I didn't receive a call so I called them at 10am on Monday 8/17/15. A man answered and said they would have to look through their records to see who took the call and when they could come out. That no way could the work be done today Monday 8/17/15. I was placed on eternal hold. After 30min I hung up and called back. A woman answered and while I was explaining to her what had taken placed; I received another call and it was a man calling from Sal's. He said," I understand you called on Saturday wanting to use the Angie's list coupon." I said, "Yes." He said, " OK but no way can we fit you in today." I said, OK" He asked me why I was calling a plumber. I told he what happened with the tile guy and my bathroom sink. After, hearing my story he said that they could come out today. About 30min later I received a call from another man who said he would be here in 30 to 45 min. I said OK. He arrived with another man. He troubleshoot the sink and found that the faucet was broken. They replaced the faucet and now everything works. Not the most personable guys but they did the work for the quoted price. Can't argue with that.

Member, From what I understand this has been taken care of. Unfortunately, this Member purchased a new home and an armature installed the AC unit. When this person installed the unit he did not open the service valves, fried the compressor and we replaced it under warranty at a very deep discount. She still had problems and we found the handyman forgot the piston in the coil. We charged her for this service and with the lack of understanding, Gave us another low grade. I have found this is usually the case when you try to help those that tried to save a buck in the first place. Do it right the first time, pay for a A rated company to do the job not fix the job of an armature did it and save a lot of aggravation. Sorry you did not feel we helped you. Hope you can find it in you to update your grade since you dropped your claim once you understood the problem. Thanks! Sal

The technician was very thorough and he told us of some problems we may have with the A/C unit going forward. Fast forward two weeks and he was exactly right. We are going to get a price from Sal's to replace our unit with one that fits our furnace and home better. Sal's was excellent!

It went great, the two man crew called at 8:30 am telling me they were 30 mins away. They arrive at 9:00 am two very professional plumbers, each plumber introduced themselves. I showed them the work that needed to be done and left them to do the job. Approximately 60 mins. later they were done. They showed me and explained the work that was completed. The completed work was neat and clean and working properly. I was extremely satisfied, great job all the way round. I will definitely use Sal's Heating & Cooling again.

I bought a coupon for 2 hours of labor for $90. Two workers showed up. The work was varied, as I needed a lot of broken pipes fixed in a rental property where multiple pipes had burst in the winter. They didn't have a necessary part, so left to retrieve it. They returned about an hour later than initially stated. At that point, they worked for about an hour and 40 minutes (so with 2 laborers in the end I got about 3 hours of labor). They fixed several leaks, which required replacing some copper piping and fittings. They were able to provide the necessary parts, and charged me what I believe was a reasonable price for the parts. In the end, it cost me about $200 total. They definitely made good progress on getting my rental property back up to working condition. I would feel comfortable hiring them again.
