The guy that came was really nice, very polite, explained what he was doing, gave recommendations, etc. The faucet was in the garage. It had a hot and cold that came into one faucet. He had to get supplies from down the street as it was an odd one, and had to leave one capped as the store didn't have two. He couldn't replace it with a like-model because it was not a normal thing to have at a home. Well, in replacing he must have twisted or bent the pipes, because the leaking started. The wall became soaked, it is also directly over the sump pump, 2 battery back ups, the radon mitigation system, etc. in the basement. I called the company and they had me turn off the water. There was no leaking into the basement, thank goodness. When all was said and done, the wall had to be ripped out, the pipes fixed or replaced, new drywall put up and made to match the garage, and new faucets put in. They were here a full day repairing the damage. I was concerned the owner wasn't more concerned with the issue, he didn't display a sense of urgency, but he knew best and they stood behind the accident and fixed it. It was an accident and I would use them again. It was just too bad, a $59 deal turned in to so much more and I am sure they agree. They did the right thing and handled the issue. The C rating is for the faucet and the leak - I would give an A to the subsequent repairs.

They're terrible. I really don't like them at all. We had to reschedule the appointment several times. Basically I was getting a different person every time on the phone, a different technician telling me something different, oh you need to wait two weeks, oh you need to wait 3 weeks, oh you need to wait 6 months, I mean it was like all across the board, you know, it was really bad. There wasn't any sort of standard, I didn't feel like there was consistency in the service message. Then they came back and finished the test, gave us diagnosis and didn't give us a price to fix it until I had to call again and I had to keep calling and calling and calling. It was like we had to rise to the top of like the service department in order to even get the price, which was really surprising because the price was really healthy, it was a large expense to fix or repair. So it was really strange that they couldn't come back to me with the details right away. Needless to say we haven't have it fixed yet and we're definitely not going to them to get it fixed so it's kind of like, thanks for the estimate but we're not going to use you. It was very dissatisfying. It took a long time, a lo of phone calls, and a lot of inconsistent messages coming from them.

Member, let's give the Members a clear understanding of why it took so long after the repair. The unit was older, parts were hard to find. Once we charged it with coolant it began to leak water because of an existing crack in the drain pan which can not be repaired. It took a look time to find a solution. We could not replace the drain pan as it was discontinued and a difficult repair if it was not. We offered a new coil and was the best solution. What was said to us was they will live with it. Sometimes and even reading this review it is best and no need to be sorry you wont be using us, it is just best for both parties and we have moved on. Thanks, Sal

The tenant at my rental property called in the morning and told me that the furnace was out. After establishing that it was blowing but not hot, and that she had gas to the stove, I called Sal's. The last time I called them, it had been after waiting four days for another company to find a part for a furnace at another rental property. Dimitri from Sal's had found the part right away, and had the furnace fixed within a couple of hours, so I remembered the experience and called Sal's first this time. Again, Dimitri came out that same day, and had the furnace running in no time. He checked everything: looked for blockages in the exhaust, found the heat exchanger and igniter to be working properly, noted that the blower sounded like it was in need of replacement but that it was still working, and finally located a blocked valve that he cleaned with a pin. Meanwhile, he called to get a price for a new blower motor, and quoted me a price for same day installation, or next day to save me a few dollars. I opted to have him return the next day and also asked about doing a routine winter check up on the other furnace for the upstairs unit. I also mentioned that I wanted to replace the toilet and snake the basement drain, and he got me quotes and scheduled service for the next day for those items as well. The next day, both Dimitri and Shawn the plumber called in the morning as promised. Through no fault of his own, I missed Shawn's call, and he went on to his next job, but he he was very accommodating in working around my availability and rescheduling for later in the day. Shawn installed the new toilet, shimmed to level, and removed some lint and root balls from the basement drain which fixed the slow drain problem that my tenant had been experiencing. Both Shawn and Dimitri were experienced professionals and communicated well throughout, and I would highly recommend them and hire them again.

We've had to have all three of them replaced. I've been very pleased with their service. They've always been here when they said they would be. They've been very courteous and professional. Obviously, I would like their prices to be better but it wouldn't. They are excellent and I would have them back here at a moment's notice.

Description of Work: I was suppose to have my sewer line and downspout lines replaced from my house to the city sewer line. It was explained to me but not put in writing exactly what they did. But I know it was not exactly what I asked for. I was very specific when Matt came out to do the estimate, but he obviously does not estimate this type of work( estimate $3500) usually and I felt like they did a mega Bait and switch. I don't know if you want to publish this because I am so annoyed/confused about the situation I haven't brought myself to talk to the owner. I just feel cheated

Smooth sailing. They came out when scheduled, were professional, and installed the new unit in a reasonable amount of time. Sal's also accommodated us with the installation of a new water heater in the same unit which failed the day before the A/C installation was scheduled!

Furnace kept stalling , so I called Sal's concerned the unit needed major repair. Turned out- it was a very simple fix- I knew what to do, I could have done this myself. The service call was at the regular rate- so not cheap, bu the technician did show me this was a common problem and how I could " fix it" myself in future. Have used Sal's for years. They are honest and reliable.

Sal.s replaced the spigot in no time, did a quick inspection of the rest of our plumbing and found no other issues. They didn't try to sell us something we didn't need.
Description of Work: Sal's replaced the spigot on the front of our house. It had been leaking and then the handle broke off. It was not the screw on kind so it had to be re-plumbed.

Angie's List forces us and you to purchase her services through Angie's List so she can bank her 50 percent before writing us a check. In order to do this, we must log on to her website where she claims you can schedule the service through the site. All these promises are tough to keep and of course Angie's List looks like a hero but when you understand the tactics of the BIG DEAL It is clear Angie's List wants control of you my customer. We don't even get a phone number to contact you. This is why we are NO LONGER a part of this NON-SENSE. I am not even sure if my responses are scene any longer but your review is clear you have been mislead and believe Sal's is the unprofessional company but the truth should be know what the real problem is! They were really good. I was totally happy with them. They were nice. They took care of my toilet. They changed it out. They were very professional. I had ordered a special child seat. So, instead of installing the standard seat that would come with it, they installed the child seat. The only bad thing I would say was the lack of communication between me and the installers. They didn't leave the old toilet seat, the one that came with the toilet. But then, the salesperson or someone brought it back. So, they were good. I was happy. It seemed like a good price. The installers were on time.

I took advantage of the Angie's List deal of $99 for 2 hours of labor. We had purchased the replacement kitchen faucet prior to the work being done so the cost was only for labor. Two workers arrived at the scheduled time. The plumbing work was done efficiently and professionally. The leak from the shower could not be repaired as it was a more involved project. I did get an estimate for the additional work which seemed a little high, but based on my experience I would be confident in the work that would be performed by this company.

The service man accidently broke the piece the to which the faucet was to attach. He had to travel to the nearest Home Depot to buy the replacement part, but he came back and finished the job, even though it was after 6pm, without any additional charge.

I purchased a coupon on Angie's List that gave me $200 credit toward services. I called to schedule service and explained that I wanted four items repaired/installed. The employee explained on the phone that it would cost more than the $200 credit I had purchased, which I expected. I said that I would pay the additional cost, but that I wanted all four items done. When the two-man crew came, they were surprised that I wanted those four things done and they said that they would not have time today and that I would have to pay another expense to have a team come out a second time, but that they would do two of the four items. They said that they would replace the outdoor spigot and repair the toilet. As they finished up, they handed me a bill for $162 which they required me to pay right then. Clearly, it had not been communicated to them that I had wanted other work done, or this was just a ploy to get more money out of me. After the left, I tested the spigot outside. It's too bad that I can't post a video to this review. When you turn the spigot on, water shoots out from the seam and sprays all over the house. Let me be clear, the water does not spray out from where you connect the hose to the spigot, it actually shoots out from the top of the spigot itself! A few days later, I also realized that they had turned on two water lines in my basement that had intentionally been turned off. One of them lead up to my barn and I had a spigot open at the barn to drain the line. This means that the water was running for A FEW DAYS before I happened to be up at the barn and saw it. The other valve that they had opened was the BYPASS to go around my softener and iron filter system. That means that some or all of the water that was fed to my house had not gone through the iron filter. As you can imagine, I am as dissatisfied as I could possibly be with Sal's. I will certainly not use them in the future. In fact, I won't even allow them to come back and repair the spigot (again) which I have already paid for them to repair...twice, actually if you count the credit purchased through Angie's list and the $162 check that I wrote while they were here.
Description of Work: I had hired the plumber to repair a toilet and an outdoor spigot. I also wanted them to install a disposal and a water line to a refrigerator but this work was not completed.

Member, I went and pulled your invoice and I remember you as I spoke to you personally, you flat out said you're not willing to pay for what you signed for and were explained and agreed to upfront before ANY work was done. The invoice clearly showed the $200 credit and that the plumber was there from 12:40pm to 2:00pm and you are right it is too bad we can’t show pictures on this response to this flat out lie of your experience. Anyone who would sign F - OFF in the signature line can’t and won’t be taken seriously. We honor all warranties, and we check for leaks over and over. Who would install a spigot and not turn it on before leaving? NOBODY! Give me a break here. You even noted we explained the service before coming out to your home. I think this review is rubbish and a fallacy. I would be happy to speak to you if you feel there is something that needs to be addressed but I believe we both know you received exactly what you wanted us to do in the time frame allowed. Trying to get 4 projects done for next to NO cost on a coupon is not a fair expectation when it was explained not once but twice. Good luck to you. Sal

I had three big issues: a leaky toilet, a broken shut-off valve, and a leaky tub. The leaky tub "had an old Delta" faucet, and he could try to replace the cartridge, but that might not work. He'd then have extra work, and regardless the outcome, he would not guarantee the condition of the flange. Regarding the shut-off valve, it is "buried in the floor," so they were going to have to cut away part of the floor and part of the ceiling below in order to fix it. Now, that's a fine, proper solution, but I could not get a straight answer as to whether or not they could just put a new shut-off valve higher up, as the current one still functions and is not leaking. The toilet couldn't be fixed because whatever happened with the shut-off valve might affect the toilet re-seating. No repairs were completed, and I still have the same problems. Luckily I have gotten two other estimates--both have come in lower, and both offered the Occam's Razor approach of simply swapping out/installing a new faucet in the leaky tub. This evidently represents the largest cost savings. I have someone scheduled to come in next week to complete the repairs for roughly half of the cost that I was quoted from Sal's. Angie's List continues to be a fantastic way for me to find business that hate to do work.
Description of Work: Uh, absolutely nothing. The tech came in and essentially had excuses for why they couldn't do everything. He then provided an estimate for what the repairs would be, but no, nothing was fixed.

Member, We can easily replace any plumbing item. It sounds to me you were looking to use your coupon to fix old plumbing and there is NO straight answer what will happen with old plumbing and your right, installing new is always the way to go. You may not have understood this as it appears we were your 1st estimate. We also use high end parts and not Cheapo Depot replacement downgraded items to appear like it is the same quality. Customers continue to make this mistake and end up paying for a real Plumber like us to fix the 1/2 the price plumbers workmanship. Angie's List continues to give us leads for some Member's that have these high expectations and is one of many reasons why we are no longer part of being a service provider. The results are NO complaints and higher quality of customer. Feel free to call us if you need these items replaced if the project is not the high quality you may be expecting. We discovered the drains under our house are not laid out in a way that made sense. There was one drain that ran under the middle of the floor. They worked until they found the issue and the drain cleared. We have problems with roots in the drains and I will have them out again, probably once a year.

i wanted to use them to replace the shower trim and faucet. I did tell them upfront that i bought the facets and to have a look before starting if they would be fit. They did not observe the very first one and said it would be a fit. Second one, they did see and told me that it would not fit. By this time, the time was 30 mins past which they counted. Then they went to the first bathroom to fix that and then at that time i was told that it would not fit. So i ended up paying them 95 dollars for nothing as they charged me service call and 30 mins. i wish there was a way where we would know if the fittings would be a fit even before they come here.
