I have used Sal's before for Whole house humidifier installed and had a good experience. This time however, they left things to be desired. I got an angie's list deal for inspection on the sump pump and the technician arrived promptly, checked the sump pumps ( backup included) and plugged off the main pump to see if the back up worked well However he did forget to plug the main pump back in!!!. It was close to that time of the year when the snow was thawing off and there was a LOT of water that needed to be pumped out. I went into my basement after 3 days to check on how the sump pump was doing and to my utter surprise the BACKUP was the ONLY pump running and main pump was unplugged!! The well had almost overflowed buti thanks to my backup pump, my basement did not get flooded I wonder if the person was just rushed but i did feel kind of let down by their service I hope they rectify this in future Thankfully no harm was done but this was a very close call...

Great experience. On time. Efficient, Clean. They were very professional.

Initially inspected AC for a tune-up. That's when they found motherboard wasn't working and only furnace would start but not the AC unit. They said they'd check if the part was covered under warranty which they did and it was. They came back a few days later and installed the new part. Overall very impressed with their service and we've used them twice now. We initially couldn't get a hold of the service person who came to our place the first time for the tune-up. They finally called back and told us they were waiting to get the new part from the manufacturer. All in all though great experience and we'd continue to use Sal's for our HVAC needs.

Called in the morning when we realized our A/C unit was not functioning. Spoke with Joe. Joe initially said he would not have anyone available for about a week for a service call. When I explained that the unit was not functioning at all, he changed the priority of the call and said he could have someone out later the same day! Within a few hours, the technician, Max, arrived at our home. He introduced himself, wore shoe covers and explained all of the work as he did the diagnosis. He left for about an hour to get a part, came directly back, finished the job and cleaned the outside unit before buttoning everything back up. I could not have asked for a better experience! Thanks Sal's! Will definitely call again for routine maintenance and eventual replacement.

Purchased the $69 special and very satisfied with the purchase. Service was excellent and I feel like I received great value for the price. I would definitely recommend.

The water heater was installed as planned. 13 months later another plumber was doing another repair and noticed excessive corrosion on the hot water line leading out of the water heater. Since i'm a remote owner of the property this was the first time it was discovered. Thinking Sal Would Stand Behind His Work even though i was thirty days outside the warranty period, I sent pictures of the damage to sal. His response was to call me ridiculous for not have noticing the damage in 13 months (even after I explained to him that I'm a remote landlord). I've put in water heaters myself and to set this straight might take 30 minutes. It's 100% certain that the damage was poor workmanship by sals .. so much so that the plumber who discovered the issue didn't try to quote me the repair as he thought sal would obviously take care of it. The moral of the story is I tried to save a few bucks with an Angie list special.. I'll wind up paying more to get someone else to fix the issue.

So, I am pretty sure that this is my first bad review on Angie's List. I am usually very happy with my contractors. :( There was a deal on Angie's list for a hot water tank, installed. I called Sal's Heating & Cooling PRIOR to purchasing to ask in there were any additional charges and was told that that was the complete installed price. I purchased the Deal on Angie's List, and Sal's employees came out to install- fairly quickly, within a day or two. The installers were nice and professional, and did a good job with the install. After the work was complete, I was asked to sign a document stating price and that the work was complete. That document had an additional $100 added to what I had already paid for the deal. When I asked, they called the office, and confirmed that I order no upgrade and that the additional charge was incorrect. They removed that charge, I signed, and the crew left. Up until this point, I was extremely please with the transaction. Then, 2 months later, I receive a bill in the mail for an additional $49 permit fee. I call and explained that I specifically asked about any additional fees prior to the purchase, and was assured that there was not one. Then the installers said nothing about any additional fees when doing the work, and that the bill I signed said nothing about that. The woman was rude on the phone, and declared that "Sal says it's in the terms and conditions in the Angie's List, so she has to pay it". I replied "It says fees MAY Apply" which is the reason I called to clarify prior to purchasing. Long story short, Sal's has been unwilling to discuss, or admit that they should have disclosed this fee when I called and asked or when I signed the agreement after the install. If they had disclosed this info, I still would have purchased and paid the additional fee, but now I feel like they just want to bump up my bill after the fact. I am a business owner, and at times, we have to eat some costs due to an employees mistake. Their unwillingness to even discuss this will ensure that I will never use them again or recommend them.

Installers were prompt and courteous. The work was done neatly. Installed a new connection pipe for the back up pump. The alarm goes off and pump on if electrical failure, float monitor indicates pump failure, low battery, low water in battery. Nice setup. Puts my mind at ease. Installer was knowledgeable of other options including a second primary pump.

May 6, 2015 ordered Sal's big deal from Angie's list I scheduled appt with Sal's for May 29, 2015 Tech Matt B called approx 1/2 hour prior to let me know he was on his way. He was polite, pleasant, courteous, respectful, knowledgeable, hard working and an asset to the company, as has been the case each time with every tech who has come to the house. Sal's has done the furnace and a/c checks for the last year or two, and every visit has been outstanding. I recommend Sal's to anyone looking for honesty and integrity in a provider.

They were very prompt and courteous. They did their work with minimal dirt and dust. They said our system needed freon or CO2 whichever is currently used and that it would cost about $70 per poumd. This could mean another $250 on our bill. As it turned the final bill was only $105 total, which we considered fair. Our system had not been checked for a couple of years, so the extra expense was really not a surprise.

Excellent service. Arrived on time, cleaned up afterwards. Unit looks professionally installed at a reasonable cost. Took abut half a day. Would highly recommend this service.

I purchased the special $89 drain cleaning/or mainline sewer cleaning, and I was not dissappointed with the service provided. Both Sean and Robert of Sals Heating and cooling were very courteous and efficient in cleaning out the mainline sewer . I appreciated the clear explanation of service(s) provided and got very useful information on future plumbing needs. I personally spoke with Sean and he is very knowledgible and patient. I would deifinately recommend this service and use Sals Heating and cooling again based on my experience.

Our A/C went out last September so I bought this coupon on Angie's List. I ended up calling them on 5/6 to schedule a check up and repair. They came out the very next day and diagnosed our problem. Our condenser motor had died and our thermostat was not working correctly. He gave me the option to have them replace it or let me go purchase one and replace it on my own to save money. He came back the very next day and replaced our motor and double checked the thermostat to make sure I had installed it properly. He ensured the furnace was working with the a/c and the thermostat and didn't charge me a penny over my estimate from the prior day. He was very prompt, professional, cleaned up after his mess, and was very thorough. He even noticed the vents in the basement were closed off which is why my upstairs wasn't getting good air flow. The service call was under an hour and we were cooled down in no time! I will call them first with any additional a/c, heating, or plumbing needs we encounter in the future. Great company!

Donald (our service tech) was punctual, courteous of our home, and took the time to explain what he found in the course of the a/c unit tuneup, some simple maintenance we could perform ourselves to keep our air conditioner running longer, and warning signs to be on the lookout for because of the age of our air conditioner. We've used Sa'ls several times for a variety of hvac services, and continue to be impressed at just how much better the experience has been with them than with other service providers we have used in the past. We're thankful that a friend recommended Sal's to us, and will continue to use them for any heating and a/c needs we have in the future.

Politely explained what he was doing and answered questions regarding the frequency of tuneups and filter cleaning. Nice guy. haveused them in the past and will continue to do so.

I purchased a outdoor faucet replacement. Sal's came out and looked at the faucet. They determined that I actually needed a frost proof faucet. They performed the work quickly, cleaned up and were very professional. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again.
