I needed a structural certification on a house I was trying to purchase because there was evidence of termite activity. I found Tracy trough homeadvisor.com and was immediately put in contact with him. He quoted me $300, and we scheduled an inspection for that week on a Friday. He showed up promptly and conducted a quick, but thorough, inspection. He charged me $300 and completed a written report over the weekend, providing it to me that Sunday evening. The report was exactly what my lenders/VA needed, and I closed on time.

Tracy did a tremendous job. As a mechanical engineer myself, I learned so much from Tracy. I bought a 100 year old house and I expected some bad things and the inspector brought up quite a few "potentially" large issues. Tracy gave a detailed explanation of everything we saw and gave straight forward suggestions on how to fix it. What I thought could be costly and difficult fixes were very straightforward and I did them all myself within two weeks. I also explained my renovations and Tracy did a great job making me feel comfortable with all the walls I was planning on removing. I will call Tracy out to any property I purchase in the future. I like that he is not a contractor so he has it in your best interest to tell you the truth and not exaggerate issues that have simple fixes. Highly recommend.

Tracy was very professional, arrived early. He was willing to answer any and all questions, and did so in a very easy to understand fashion. His demeanor was very friendly and pleasant. I was impressed with his quality of work. Tracy's written report quality was excellent and delivered in a timely fashion. I would recommend Tracy and will contact him again in the future if the need arises.

Tracy was on time and very professional. He looked over our foundation, went into the crawl space, explained everything he found and discussed what needed to be done regarding small cracks.

Tracy arrived on time and was very professional. It did not take him long to determine that one wall was not load bearing and one wall was. He climbed in the attic looking at the structure in order to determine this. He followed up the next day to let us know what size beam that we would need in order to remove a 7 foot portion of the load bearing wall. As it turned out, we will need less of a support replacement than expected. We feel relieved knowing that a professional structural engineer has given us such great news on our project. Would definitely recommend him to others.

Mr Mitchell provided structural answers on several issues that were brought up. He then followed up with a full report of what was discussed as well as pictures of each issue. Very clear and professional.

My husband and I had put in a bid to purchase a home. Our first inspectors suggested we get a structural engineer to look at the basement walls and a few other foundation areas. We were in a short time due to getting our inspection report back to the sellers. I called Tracy and he was able to meet us the next day. He inspected the house from top to bottom, walked us through all the areas he was inspecting and described in full detail what the proper tolerances were. He gave the house a clean bill of health and we were so happy to have that type of validation going into the purchase of this home. Tracy was professional, timely, and very easy to work with. I will call him again.

Tracy was very responsive and professional. We spoke over the phone a couple times and he was kind enough to give me advice which saved me hundreds (maybe thousands) of dollars!

Tracy was very prompt at returning our calls and it was easy to setup an appointment with him to come out and look at the house. He was very professional and very detailed in his work. He explained his findings to us in a way that was easy to understand and provided us with a written structural report and a written list of recommendations for waterproofing the exterior walls. We would definitely call on him again!

It was difficult at first to get in touch with Mr. Mitchell because he's so busy. He did a beautiful job on the glass and reinstalling it in the front door. Will absolutely use him again in the future.

Mr Mitchell was able to support my request for a structural assessment of my home on short notice. He was willing to work during off hours to meet my needs. He provided the service within a couple of days of my request. He assessed the aspects of the home that I asked him to and wrote a professional report with his findings which I received within a timeframe that I requested. He was a complete professional who worked hard to accommodate my needs and did so a very reasonable cost. I recommend him highly.

We had several cracks in our basement walls, and we wanted an objective opinion from a structural engineer on how they should be fixed. Many of the cracks ran vertically from floor to ceiling, and a few ran diagonally. Some of the cracks seeped water after storms, including one diagonal crack which was also developing some fine horizontal cracks from it. We wanted all the issues fixed, as we are planning to finish the basement. Tracy was prompt in getting back to us after we contacted him, and he was flexible in setting up an appointment time. He was on time for the appointment, and got right to work inspecting the outside of our house first. After noting any cracks that were above grade, he then performed a full inspection of the house. He was very conscientious to take his shoes off at the door and not track snow and mud in from the outside! Tracy looked in each room, looking for major structural clues, and fortunately did not find any issues. He answered all of our questions about minor issues (drywall cracks, etc) along the way, patiently discussing each issue so we understood. He ended the house inspection in our basement, inspecting each crack. He assessed that the vertical cracks, which had not seeped water, were not an issue. He did not see any structural issues with any of the cracks, thankfully, and recommended an injection crack repair for all of the remaining diagonal cracks. He stayed to answer all of our questions verbally and, at the end of the appointment, even trekked through the snow with us to look at a small bridge we have across a creek. As it was dark and snowy, he did not completely evaluate the bridge at that time, but asked us to take pictures and send them for a better evaluation. About a week later, Tracy reiterated his verbal report by sending us a written report of his evaluation of the cracks and recommendation for repair. He also went above and beyond to review the pictures we took of our footbridge and suggested some actions to take. Overall, Tracy provided timely, professional, and quality service for us. If we need a structural engineer in the future, we will definitely give Tracy Mitchell a call.

Tracy was once again such a great help. I had him come out for an inspection in 2011. He provide a complete report with pictures and details. Today I had him come out to have another look at one of the cracks in my basement from the first inspection. He was more than helpful and put me at ease. I always feel like he is honest and straightforward.

I was disappointed with the services that were provided. I expected more in-depth knowledge and assessment as well as a higher level of professionalism.

Our home experienced foundation movement over the years due to clay soil expansion/contraction. I contacted Mr. Mitchell to do a general assessment of the structural integrity of the home. Mr. Mitchell did a walk-though of the home, where I pointed out known issues (esp. foundation cracks). He provided a verbal assessment of the likely cause of each issue, the severity (all were minor) and possible repairs. Took about two hours. Followed up with a 5 page written report of his assessment. Professional, polite and knowledgeable. Gave us the information we needed to know.

I think it went very well overall. There were some difficulties because I don't yet live in Ohio, so all of this had to be coordinated from a distance since we could never meet in person. He took the time to try to be extra detailed in the report because I didn't have the advantage of being there during the assessment for him to point things out and me to take notes as would usually happen. He gave us enough information for us to move forward with planning for our renovation.

We were removing a wall in our home for our remodel, and came to an area that was framed differently than the others, and were concerned that it was a bearing wall. We called Mr. Mitchell to examine the wall and to determine if it was, in fact, load bearing. Mr. Mitchell was able to schedule our appointment quickly, he was on time for our appointment, and did a thorough job of inspecting the wall and surrounding areas. The wall was not bearing, but the header needed some reinforcement. He very clearly explained how this was to be done. Within a day or two, he sent a stamped copy of his assessment, and instructions for the reinforcement. He charged exactly what he had estimated. We will not hesitate to call him in the future if we need a structural engineer.

I called Mr. Mitchell in December and left a message asking for him to call me back because I wanted to set up a time for him to come and look at our house. He never called me back so I called him again in February and left a message and even referenced that I had called him and left a message before and he still didn't call back. I will be using a different company to look at our foundation.

Tracy performed an inspection on my foundation and basement walls which have some cracks in them. He measured and photographed all of them and took the time to go over them with me. He emailed me a written report within 2 weeks with several options and recommendations and even gave me the name of someone who could help with some of the issues he found. I wanted to have someone who was not connected to a foundation repair group to look at the issues and give me an unbiased expert opinion on what I should do. I believe I got just what I wanted. I would recommend his services to anyone else.ll

I called on a Friday morning and Mr. Mitchell responded that evening. He came to my house on the following Monday evening. Mr. Mitchell asked lots of questions as he walked through the house inspecting the rooms. He explained what he was looking for and explained the significance and likely cause of all the cracks he found. He made a thorough examination of the exterior walls and foundation. He measured the widths of the cracks and took photographs. After examining the house, Mr. Mitchell reviewed his findings with us and recommended what actions we should take. His explanations were clear and understandable. A couple of weeks later, we received a written report summarizing the findings and recommendations, including photographs and measurements of the cracks. We were very satisfied with the service Mr. Mitchell provided and felt it was worth the money. He was very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. I hope we do not need his services in the future, but I will not hesitate to hire him again if the need arises.

I called on a Sunday the week before expecting to leave a message, but Tracy answered. He was very courteous and professional, and spoke with me at length about my structural concerns. He asked lots of questions and we set up an appointment for the following week. He was prompt, thorough, and produced a report giving my structure a clean bill of health and a general plan on how to correct my wall issues. I wanted an independent evaluation of the problem before spending thousands with a contractor for foundation repair.

I decided to hire a structural engineer after getting two conflicting estimates on the need for remediation of a block wall foundation with a long horizontal crack. I left a message for Tracy on Good Friday to set up an appointment. When I had not heard from him by Monday afternoon, I called again, and we set up an appointment for that Saturday. He arrived a few minutes after 11:00 to do his assessment. I appreciated the thoroughness of his evaluation. Tracy answered all our questions and evaluated all areas of the house for possible issues. He put our mind at ease and told us potential issues to look for in the future. He also recommended a plan of action to fix our non-threatening foundation crack. I appreciated having the opinion of a structural engineer who was not trying to sell us anything! We received our report just over a week later. I had asked Tracy for a mason recommendation, as well as the typical cost of carbon kevlar strips, and it took a few additional emails to receive these. When I did receive the mason's name, I had already scheduled someone else to do the work. Overall, Tracy was very responsive and open to further questions if they arise in the future. I would not hesitate to recommend his services. Although his price is higher than many others doing similar evaluations, I was willing to pay more for a comprehensive evaluation and report.
