Description of Work: Contractor required a $700 deposit before he would commit to a date. We paid the deposit. We then found out our insurance agent wanted the contractor to use their estimate and contact them with any questions. We had not felt comfortable that the deposit had been required, so when I left him a message about what our insurance agent had said, I asked that he not cash the check. I also put a stop payment on the check. He cashed the check anyway and called me to complain about a fee he had incurred. The whole experience left us with a bad feeling and we decided to go with someone else.

Hi. Mr. [removed member name]. Sorry that we had a misunderstanding, When I came to your house and looked at your job. I informed you that a deposit was needed to secure a date. you seamed a little uneasy about the deposit, and you were not sure how to handle the deposit. I did tell you that you could wait until Monday to contact your Insurance agent. It was your decision to go a head with the securing the date. on my way home I put the check in my account, so by the time you called the next day and told me not to deposit the check, it was too late, And you never did supply me with the insurance agents name or phone number. when I went to my account to do some banking I noticed there was a big difference in my balance. That is when I saw where your check had been returned. You never told me that you put a stop payment on the check. and you never called me again. so when I called you and informed you that I had been charged a 15.00 fee for your returned check, You told me that you would reimburse the fee, You never did take care of that. I never called again because I figured that you found another contractor to do the job. Thank You. Dan

Description of Work: They arrived on time. They were to repair several cracks and patch a large open pass-through in the entry/living room which was quite difficult. I did have to ask Dan to re-work the large patch on a subsequent day. He was gracious,came back and the work met our high expectations. All the work was well done, and we will hire him again if needed. I would highly recommend his work.

Description of Work: Gave my neighbor Dan's name. She had a leaky window and thought she needed drywall repair. Dan came to give her an estimate, but was able to repair the damage without doing drywall work. My neighbor said he was prompt, courteous, did excellent work and was very reasonable. Would definitely use him again.
