Uneventful. Dropped the car off the morning. They called in the afternoon when the car was completed and all is good in the car.

Consumer Tire has put tires on both our vehicles - total of 4 sets to date. Their price is competitive, not always the lowest, but close enough. A small, local, family owned business that we prefer to patronize over the larger outfits.
We do our oil changes with their coupon which includes a free tire rotation, and that deal is very competitive (they do rotations on tires purchased from them for free regardless).
Nice people. We've had a couple issues where a rebate was rejected by the tire manufacturer, and another set of tires that did not last as long as advertised. In both cases they made it right by us, even though the problem really wasn't of their doing.
Only negative is their hours are limited. They close earlier than many of the franchise stores and do not work a full day on Saturday or at all on Sunday (like Firestone for instance). Employee friendly.
If you can work around those hours, they will treat you well.

I've been going to them since I had my first car when I was 21 and I'm now 67. They are so good at doing wheel alignments. You will never have to take your car back for them to redo it. I've been recommending them for years.

Good job at a fair price - this time; however, I have some trust issues with Consumer.
1) At 40,470 miles they told me that I had 50% brake pad remaining at each corner - but at this visit with 45,886 miles

they tell me that the rears are done and need replaced. The 2nd opinion I received was that all brakes still look and quot;pretty goodand quot;.
2) Took my CTS-V to them in the fall of 2010 to have summer tires dismounted and snows mounted and balanced. I supplied the tires and they charged $159.16 - which struck me as steep but I figured it's the price to be paid for giant tires on soft - alloy expensive wheels. The worst part of that visit was arriving at the shop near the end of the day - just in time to observe the tech back my car off the lift and take it to the back of the lot, then do a 100-foot burn-out on my brand new $400/pc snows. The manager assured me that the tech would be disciplined.
3) Took the CTS-V back to them in the spring of '11 to have the snows dismounted and the summers mounted and balanced. The cost this time was $110.29. Oops - I guess they forgot to check what they charged me last time.
I just want to be treated fairly and honestly, and my vehicle treated with respect. I'm just not feeling it from Consumer and so I've moved on to another shop that, hopefully, provides a better experience.

I would highly recommend them. We have four cars and we take all our cars there. My daughter took her car there recently because she was concerned about her battery and charging system and they diagnosed the whole thing and told her there was nothing wrong. They didn't charge her anything for that. I have used them in the past for sourcing a new car. I bought two cars not through them but what I would do is, I would source the cars from a website and bring the cars to them to check them out for me. They would check it out for me and tell me yes, no or maybe and based on that I would buy the car. I have had my Toyota corolla done by them. It was a new car for me. We knew there were issues with the gas lines and the break lines. We thought we had a little more time before we had the brake fluid replaced but they had to replace it because I seen the loss of brake fluid. They have always been excellent to me. We have never had a problem with them. They have been above and aboard and very honest. They are always going to have a way to recommend things that need to be done but if it doesn't need to be done they would tell you. They would not suggest something that you don't need. I have taken my cars there for the last 10 years. I don't take my car anywhere else.

After several weeks of online tire research I narrowed my tire choices down to 3 brands and started visiting local tire shops. Long story short, I bought my tires at Consumer Tire in Mentor Ohio due to the great advice, price and attitude of the store's manager: D.D. Coley. She has excellent tire knowledge and gives straight and honest answers (I'm a very skeptical consumer). I wish that every business had a counter person like Coley. Pricing was outstanding. They beat a major national online tire distributor's delivered price by 10% and the Consumer Tire price included installation!

Very well. Gal at front desk very nice. I forgot to ask before the service if a Balance along with the Alignment would be necessary and she assured me that if I was not feeling any shaking it would not be required. That honesty saved me money. I was afraid after leaving and stopping at a store that my one tire was low on air, I went back and with no question was instructed to go to one of the bays and a gentleman immediatly met me there to check the air pressure on all my tires. The place itself is very neat and clean and you can view them working on your vechicle.
