I was thrilled to begin building my first new house. Now after waiting on Bill Crum to finish it I have nothing but regrets. Greg, the main contractor was never on site when I stopped in. I only saw him when something was wrong and I requested we meet. One example is the dryer vent was not hooked up and the drywall was put up over it. I told Greg but he didn't believe me. He had me look through all my photos because he didn't want to take down a couple pieces of drywall. I insisted. I was correct. My tub was installed with a crack. Water poured through the ceiling to my bathroom below. Bill Crum went against manufacturer and industry standards that called for a complete replacement by only wanting to patch the tub even after being told I would only be able to use it as a shower due to iminate failure of the patch. He said I was making a mountain out of a mole hill. I paid to replace the tub with a steel tub and tile to avoid more issues with their inferior products. I told Bill I expect reimbursement for half the labor. He offered an insulting $350.00. My gutters have an inverted fall. Four people have looked at them just to waste my time taking off work. Bill himself came a few weeks ago. I refused to take off work again and meet him. My work order inquiries and emails to Bill are still going unanswered and nothing is being done to fix the gutters. I filed a complaint with the BIA only to have Bill tell me they would side with him. I guess we will see. Back door does not latch. Carpet company has never shown up and painting not finished. Ive put in numerous work orders and sent many emails. I posted a review on their Facebook page and it mysteriously disappeared along with another negative review from someone else. Do yourself a favor and go with another builder.

We did not have any work (remodel/addition) completed by American Heritage Homes. We are a previous customer who had American Heritage build our current home in 2000. We contacted American Heritage in March 2016 in regard to the proposed addition based on the fact that they were familiar with our home design and we were pleased with their build quality. We spoke with the owner, Gary, who directed us to a particular sales representative at the Lockbourne sales model. We spent at least one and half hours with this sales representative going over design ideas. We also discussed an issue with our current vinyl siding and the appropriate department was notified. We were advised that the owner was on spring break and would return the following week to go over our proposed plans. We were then told that we would be contacted in a couple of weeks. We have not received any follow-up phone calls, voicemails, texts or emails from anyone at American Heritage as of today, August 31, 2016. We made several attempts to contact American Heritage by way of phone calls, voicemails and emails; however, all of our attempts have gone unanswered. Regardless of their decision regarding our proposed addition, at the very least we should have received a timely response from American Heritage Homes. Before hiring this company, careful consideration regarding customer service is strongly recommended.

Our experience with American Heritage was excellent, from pre-liminary design/ cost estimating to the post build followups. The company is small and as an advantage, we were able to work directly with the two owners, Bill and Gary. The company is very flexible, offering both standard and custom designs. They were also flexible in allowing us to select other interior and exterior finishes that weren't used in their previous builds. Their unique building process also creates a high energy efficient house. People are always amazed when we tell them about our low energy bills. Our 7,000 sq foot house was a standard plan that was customized to meet our needs and desired. Even with the customization and highly loaded detail on both interior and exterior, our house only took less than 6 months to build. Other custom builders used in our neighborhood are taking 9-12 months. We have lived in our American Heritage home now for over two years and have been amazed by not only the energy savings but also the quality and craftmanship of the house. Thanks American Heritage!

This company is excellent in every aspect. They build a home which is extremely energy efficient and at a reasonable price. We would have utilized them to build our next home, but instead made the decision to purchase an existing home. Please go and see them if you are thinking of building a new home. They are very helpful and not at all high pressure. They are able to work for either your plans or theirs. Everything that they put into their homes is top quality.

I was totally impressed with American Heritage Homes, Inc. They provided detailed drawings for my home based on preliminary drawings I had done, and were very professional to deal with from start to completion. The provided many helpful suggestions on finishing materials and colors. I even now email them with questions, and they respond the same day. The craftsmanship in my home was outstanding. Everything is square and even the framing looked like cabinet work. The quality of the oak woodwork is like fine cabinet work. The home is very tight and mechanically ventilated. The energy costs for heating and AC are approximately half of that required by a conventionally built home. I am a mechanical engineer, and I researched the home details extensively before having it built. They seem to take pride in building energy-efficient homes, and they actually do research to determine the most efficient ways to build quality homes. Their cost estimate was accurate, and amazingly, the total price was actually less than an estimate I received from another competitive builder who builds homes conventionally. I recommend them very highly for anyone interested in a quality, energy-efficient home.
