The service was very nice. They did mulching and the entire landscaping. They were very professional, prompt and on time. They did a great job.

Went very well. Our first contact was very professional. I showed him what I wished to have done and we set a time to have the work done. The crew arrived as scheduled, went to work, cleaned up the area where the wood was to be stacked, cleaned up the back yard while splitting and stacking and did an excellent job of cleaning up the yard before leaving. Mr. Melena is a very professional and pleasant person to work with and I can recommend his services without any reservation at all.

WOW, our yard looks beautiful! We are so pleased and thankful that we chose Melena Landscaping. We had a few bids and his was not the lowest or the highest; but based on the reviews and our initial interaction with Dan we decided to hire him . The communication throughout this process was A+. I was also impressed by how hard the crew worked. I can honestly say I haven't seen a crew work this hard in many years. Melena Landscaping will be our only recommendation for landscaping/lawn needs.

Dan came out and gave an estimate; I was impressed by his manners and hired him. The work was scheduled about 2 weeks out, and he called, as promised, the night before they came. Everything looks beautiful; they left no mess. The whole crew was polite and hardworking: not a bunch of ex-con looking types. This was a small job, my first foray ever into hiring out landscaping. I wanted to see what it cost, how good a job they did, etc. I have now scheduled more work and am in the early stages of planning for even more next year. Getting these beds edged is going to make it possible to my husband to mow without getting off the rider! Dan makes the effort to make sure he understands exactly what it is you want: asking questions, pointing out things you never thought of, etc.

I purchased a special four hours of yard clean up for $149 and negotiated for an two more hours as I remember. Overall the work was done to my satisfaction. I think that I could have been more explicit in how i prioritized my requests given the time limitation but I do think that the two gentlemen accomplished a fair amount in the three hours they worked. My only concern was that two pyramidal boxwoods were trimmed in a conical shape - which underscores how overgrown they were. I would have appreciated being asked before doing this. I can trim and there was quite a bit of 'heavier' work, like edging, that needed done. The edging they did do was nicely done.

They arrived early in the morning with a crew of 3 workers and were done by mid afternoon. The yard looked great by the time they had finished. Two of the rose bushes they installed didn't make it through the winter, but that was due to the weather.

He did an absolutely wonderful job. He was very professional and personable and very good with what he does. Very knowledgeable. Very thoroughly with the work. He is a professional expertise.

Service was outstanding. Dan Melena was extremely responsive and punctual in our initial meetings and carried through with the work on the timing promised. Price was fair and transparent. HIs crew was excellent and the quality of the work was all we could have hoped. Our yard is large and the crew put is a couple long days. Three weeks later, it still looks as if the work was done yesterday - very fresh, clean and beautiful. Quality of the plants selected was also very good - got one of the best tri-color beeches I have seen in quite a while. We plan to use Melena Landscaping again as our first choice.

ABSOLUTE PROFESSIONAL WORK. They worked 13 hrs nonstop precise cleaned as they went. did extras clipped hedges. We can't be more happy to see someone that takes pride in what they do. For the labor and material absolutely a deal. Ready to have them again Great job!!!!!!!!

Outstanding. The front curb view is like night and day. The old is gone, and behold the new has come. It is beautiful, the neighbors are commenting, and one has already asked Dan to do some work for her. Thorough, professional, and they clean up after the work is complete. This company is for real, and the work speaks for itself.

Very well. Really well. I was able to get the time frame I requested, which was first week in May, so I could see how the emerging perennials were looking and move around a bunch of daffodils before the mulch went down. Maybe I signed up early enough (maybe Jan or Feb?) they could be more flexible but I was very pleased to have my request work out. I have never seen edges like the ones that crew did. I thought there was a place to upload photos with the review and I guess that option is gone but seriously they did an honestly stellar job with those edges. They left me a little extra pile of mulch to do some "repairs" as of course I am NOT finished moving things around. They worked around all my bulbs - tulips still blooming - and perennials. Really excellent job.

The mulch beds look great! Dan and his crew did a wonderful job in cutting in on the edge fo the beds. The weed were all removed including the Canadian thistle which has begun to invade my beds. The black mulch looks great. The shrubs were all nicely trimmed and the dead hollys were removed. The yard was cleaned up with nothing left out of place. I will certainly have Melena Landscaping back!

Overall they did a really nice job. Most of my beds are mulched with large rocks, some beds are mulched and edged with large rocks. The beds looked really nice when finished. I have only one small complaint. In the area where they replaced 3 shrubs, they left areas where there was bare dirt showing. These areas should have had the rocks put back over them. It only took me a little while to replace them and it would not keep me from using them again.

Dan came out very soon after I first called to get an estimate and got back to me promptly with an estimate promptly. He was friendly, professional, and responsive to my questions. Even though it was drizzling off and on during the scheduled work day, they arrived promptly and worked all day. The job took 1 1/2 days. It was pricey, but my yard was in bad shape and it looks so much better now.

Work occurred while away on vacation. Nice to return to cleaned up mulch beds.

They were very responsive when I called to get an estimate. I schedule the work immediately and they finished the job in 2 days. Very professional, the yard looks great and they cleaned everything up. Will use again.

I had called Dan because he was highly recommended on Angies list and I needed a fence line cleared, he came right out and gave me an estimate and we scheduled for next week, but he called because of the bad weather being fore-cast and squeezed me in today. He and a worker flattened a large pile of dirt left by previous owners who had an old oil tank removed. The pile was 8 foot wide x 6 foot long by about a foot tall. They moved the excess dirt to several parts of the yard and seeded and covered it with straw. They cleared an acre along the fence line of small shrubs and brush and cut down a large rotted tree. I asked him to do things off the cuff and he did them without complaining even though it added several hours to the original time frame. Dan Melena is one of the nicest people to deal with. Very professional, will definitely have him back for more work. Original estimate $700 with extra tree cutting $175 additional.

They were accommodating on setting a service date. When they did come out they were prompt and professional. They did some great edging and leaf removal from the winter. They also put in mulch for all the planting beds. The young man that was there was very nice and gave me some great tips. The workers were competent as well. The yard looks great

Dan melena is the owner and he was very easy to work with - He called right away and set up an appointment and he came out to inspect what I wanted done. He was prompt and courteous and asked a lot of good questions - He took a little time to figure out all of his costs (he went to his car to come up with these costs) and he came back with a quote. I thought the edging would be too high but it was very reasonable - thought the mulch quote was a bit high so I scaled back the project by having him eliminate the edging of the trees He called a day ahead of time to see if it was alright to start the project. We caught a window in the weather and I told him to go for it. He got out there as soon as it was sun up and got right to work (he had two guys helping him) - We talked a bit to make sure we were on the same page. He mentioned to me that it would be easier for him if he could "edge" the tree beds - he was willing to split the $350 cost with me to edge the tree beds and I was surprised and happy to hear him make this offer. I accepted and he edge the tree beds as well. He spent one entire day on cleaning up all of the yard waste. looked super when he was done. Came back a couple of days later and put all of the mulch down and we are "tickled pink" with how well the yard looks. Highly recommend the professional service that Dan provides and we will certainly be calling him next spring to do our yard once again.
