After reading several negative reviews I was skeptical to schedule an appointment for Brandon to groom our dogs however; a co worker recommended him so we gave him a try. He was about 25 minutes late for the appointment but did call to let us know he was running a little behind. When he came he greeted us with a smile and let the dogs sniff him and get comfortable before taking them one at a time to groom. They both look great! They came back very happy and wagging their tails. The cost was comparable to other places we've used and inquired with for our breed and for the convenience of having him come to our home and groom them here it is well worth it. We will be calling him again and using him in the future.

He (Brandon) was supposed to arrive at 10am, I called at 10:20 and left him a message. He called back at 10:30 and said he was running over on his appointment and said that it would be about an hour before he could be there. He finally arrived at 11:20. I was discussing with him how I wanted my dog's hair cut, and I asked to see the inside of his van and he said I could not because he "wanted to build a relationship with the dog without me there first". About an hour later, he came to my door and there was cotton on my dog's paw, he said that there had been an accident and he had cut the pad on the bottom of my dog's foot and was asking for flour to clot the bleeding. The only thing he had done at this point was cut around her face and the bottom of her foot. He was asking if I wanted to continue the grooming and I said I needed to take my dog to the vet. He began discussing payments and I told him I needed to take my dog to the vet, he wanted to be able to return and finish the grooming after I got her back from the vet and I told him we would discuss that later. At the vet, she got three stitches and it cost me $250.00. I have called him and left several voicemails and have heard nothing back. The part that he did cut on her face looks terrible anyway, and I would not use him to even finish the job.

DO NOT USE THIS GUY. He does not know how to run a business!!
I originally contacted him in August to groom my very spoiled Golden. I spare no expense for this boy so I worked around Brandon's schedule to have the dog groomed. He quoted me between $80 - $100 over the phone for a golden which seemed high but I prefer the mobile grooming option. He did show up for our first appointment, but he was very late. Thankfully I was home that day so it wasn't too big of an issue. He claimed he was running behind from a previous appointment when I texted to get a status. There wasn't any initiative on his part to contact me and let me know he was running behind.
He did groom the dog and did a thorough job. The total came to $110 which was higher than I expected but he did a nice job. At that time I made my appointment for 6 weeks later (he claims he likes to put his clients on standard rotating appointments so I agreed to every 6 weeks). I watched him put the planner in his ipad and I had him read it back to me because I was putting it in my calendar at the same time.
Fast forward to 6 weeks later, where my appointment was for Friday, September 7th at 4pm. Mind you, I work during the day and he didn't want to do an evening appointment (I wanted 6pm). So I made arrangements to leave work at 3:30 so I could be home by 4pm. Once again, no Brandon so I text and he claims that he didn't have me on the calendar. He apologizes and tells me he can do Saturday, September 8th at 11:30 or Noon. I tell him I can do 11:30. So again, I move my plans around on a Saturday to accommodate his calendar. I'm at my house at 11:30 - No Brandon, no text or call to say he's running behind. Nothing. Noon - No Brandon, no text or call to say he's running behind. Nothing. I left my house at 12:20 because I have other arrangements made and I get a NASTY text from him telling me he's at my house and how rude I am for not being there for my appointment. He proceeds to tell ME to not to call him anymore for service. Don't worry buddy - that won't be a problem at all!! In addition to this note on Angie's List, I'm also going to report him to the BBB.
*Also, please note that I don't believe this is the current address on file (Hilliard, Ohio). He told me he's based out of New Albany and I do see his trailer parked in New Albany quite a bit. New Albany residents take caution!

When I made an appointment, his response was prompt and pleasant. The quoted price was $80, which I thought was expensive. Nonetheless, I made the appointment and was appalled that he never showed up--at least not now which is two hours and twenty minutes since the scheduled time.

My rating is a combined report from the two incidents we had with The Dogfather. We had been looking for another groomer for our 2 Schnauzer/Poodle mixes in the Hilliard area and was interested in a mobile groomer due to the age of the dogs and thought it would be less stress on them to be right in front of the house and not at a foreign place all day until we got off work. We contacted The Dogfather and got a very prompt return call and set up an appointment for a couple of weeks later. He arrived promptly and even though I thought the price that was arranged by my wife who had set the appointment was a tad high, I did understand the convenience to myself and the dogs as well as the extra costs incurred due to the travel.
He arrived and played with the dogs for a little while to get them used to him before he took them out to the truck, I explained that one of them is partially deaf and blind and the other had back issues and to be careful when he was lifting him to the table. He took the older (deaf/blind) one out and when he came back inside he stated that the dog had snapped at him several times and that he had to "get him in line". Mind you, the dogs at the time were 12 and 11 years each with the 12 year old being this one mentioned here, at no point in time have any of the groomers we took them to when we lived on the East side or the old groomer in Hilliard EVER state that either of the dogs snapped at them or tried to bite them. I think this would have been brought up so we were aware of it. The 2nd dog which has back problems did take a bit longer than anticipated due to his coat being a bit rougher. Both of them ended up with a decent cut and in a pretty reasonable time period.
When he brought the 2nd dog up to the house you could tell he was in a hurry to get his money and get out, he wasn't the same polite person who had been playing with the dogs earlier, he wasn't mean, just very short and direct, you could tell he wanted out for whatever reason. I even ended up providing a rather generous tip in addition to the payment for services, thanked him for his time and he left.
A few months later my wife called for another grooming appointment and left a message on his voicemail requesting an appointment time and we never heard back from him. I don't know if there was an issue in the truck with the dogs that he failed to mention or if he was unhappy with the tip or what but we never heard back from him and had to find another groomer for our dogs.

Apparently, the groomer did not want to groom our dog again. He said he forgot his ipad and would call us to schedule the next appointment. We never heard from him again.

I did not end up using his service because of time constraints. He comes to your home and his estimate was almost $30 higher than the groomer who actually did my dog. The owner was pleasant ,helpful I just needed the grooming done sooner than he was able to do it.

He comes out to your house and you take the dog to the front door. He will take the dog to your truck and brings him back. You give him the check and he is gone. He charges by the size of the dog.
