Description of Work: I was not home, but I was told that everything went very well. They cleaned the chimney, inspected the chimney structure and made suggestions if we notice certain kinds of problems.

Description of Work: Removed top of chimney above roofline and replaced. The work agreement was reached about Sept 3, work began several weeks later, and was completed Oct 30. They apparently had difficulty getting the brick - project took almost 2 months. When performed, the work was very good. Clean up was excellent. The wait was frustrating, but, nonetheless, their work was very good.

Description of Work: Had a leaking chimney through broken masonry bricks. Unlike other vendors who wanted to replace the entire chimney, they fixed just the broken bricks and mortar and waterproofed the chimney. Now, no more leaks, mission accomplished!

Description of Work: Not happy! This was the company brought out to do a chimney inspection on the house we are selling referred by the buyer's home inspector. We have two chimneys on a 55 year old house. We had disclosed the FR fireplace top was rebuilt due to leaking in 2012. The LR fireplace was checked at that time and no work was done. New Buck went up into both chimneys with a camera and sweep. New Buck wrote up a remediation proposal for $3000 for a new liner in the LR and cracks in both crowns. He claimed it was dangerous. We disputed this as the work could only be done by them per the contract and we doubted that it was necessary. They never did produce the pictures but finally told our realtor where the cracks were. Our chimney guy had seen this before and found two spots that he could fill if needed for around $150 or less. The LR fp is clean and has been used once in 17 yrs on a Christmas morning. He did note that there was a newly clean spot where it looked like some mortar has been scraped out. It was all very fishy.

Description of Work: Around six years ago I had New Buck Chimney Sweeps LLC to do repair on the chimney. I called them a couple of months ago for an estimate, there was additional mortar becoming loose. Their repair man, Mike, came within the set time and checked the chimney, top, four sides up close. He told me the overall condition and the crown had one year left of the seven year warranty. If he got the job he would redo the crown at no charge. He gave me the cost for the chimney. Since I had New Buck before he gave me a very good discount. He got the job. Mike arrived the day set, worked straight through, answered my questions, was pleasant and cleaned up after himself. He left a satisfied customer.

Description of Work: These guys are the best. When my wife and I first moved into our home, we had been told by the previous owner that the chimney had been cleaned every year. We decided that it was safe to use. After using the chimney a few times we noticed that it didn't seem to be venting properly and called a nondescript chimney sweep to check it out. They performed an inspection and told us that we'd had a chimney fire, it had destroyed the liner, caused the chimney to detach from the house and the entire thing needed to be rebuilt. Distraught, we contacted our insurance company and they were prepared to have the chimney replaced, at a cost of close to $6K. After thinking about it, I decided to get a second opinion. After doing several searches, we noticed the name New Buck coming up several times, and gave them a call. Glad we did. They came out promptly, conducted a thorough inspection and told us that yes, we'd had a chimney fire, but that after a cleaning the chimney would be fine, it had caused no damage whatsoever. needlw

Description of Work: Installed a liner in the chimney for our hot water tank. The gas company had found the flue had such a strong downdraft that it was blowing the exhaust gases into the basement rather than up the flue. So, they turned off the gas to the tank and we'd been without hot water the entire weekend. Mike came shortly after we called and installed a chimney liner that's properly sized for the hot water tank. I'd explained my husband is going in for knee surgery the day after tomorrow and that we really needed to have the tank running before then. Mike was great to work with and we're very pleased with the speed of the installation.
