New Buck Chimney Sweeps

Everything went as planned - they arrived for the initial appointment on time and got the job done in a reasonable time and took the time to explain the results of the inspection. They said they would have someone call to schedule the repair and we received a call within a day. They scheduled the repair work (about 2 wks out) for a day that we were out of town but when we got back everything was completed and they left an envelope explaining all that had been done. They also called the following day to ensure that everything had been completed. They were very responsive and reliable throughout the process - would definitely recommend them and use them again.

Prompt in giving estimate, prompt on days of scheduling, worked hard and kept my property inside and out, neat and picked up. This a wonderfully reliable company who respond quickly, explain everything, anticipate your needs and are diligent in performing high quality workmanship. I will post a before and after photo as soon as I get it done!

They have done this two or three times for us.

There were prompt, cheerful and courteous. My fireplace door had come disconnected from the masonry and they even offer to reconnect. Since I'm going to replace it it wasn't necessary. The clean up was great.

Project went very well. They were very helpful and provided good suggestions and documents that showed why we were having the problem. They even stopped by a couple days later to provide a cap for the old hot water heater exhaust pipe system that they didn't have on the day of installation. Great phone manners and responses too!

They came out and cleaned both of them and you did not see a speck of soot in the house. they are very reliable and considerate of the property they are working on.

It was in the middle of June and Chimney Sweep was running a special and they a came out and they did and Inspection and they also did some cleaning. They did a great job.

The representative did an excellent job cleaning and inspecting the fireplace. We did not know the true condition of the chimney when we bought the home, but our home inspector had noted that it needed cleaning and inspecting so we brought in New Buck Chimney. New Buck's inspection noted a non-operative damper (rusted closed) and mortar issues from water damage around the brick on the chimney. The representative gave me a quote to repair the problems on the spot and we have scheduled them to come back to make the repairs to replace the cap/damper, grind out the bad mortar, re-point around the brick and then apply a sealer to the brick. The repairs will run about $1,000, but I will have a fully functional and safe fireplace after all is said and done.

They tech came out and opened up the duct and, from what I could see, pulled very little material out. He said it was not that dirty and that the duct was not the issue for it not working that well. So I purchased a new dryer, when they installed it they took a look and the vent seemed fine. A few days later it seemed the dryer was not working again, as the duct work was hanging open in the original area of repair. After I called, New Buck sent out the same man to check the vent again and he taped the duct properly, but tried to blame the installers who were never near the duct. A few months later the same issue came about so I called back and spoke to the owner, he said he would call me the next day. I then asked for a different tech as well. He didn't call, so I called back. He seemed testy and stated that no one could be there till the following Tuesday due to the holiday and he would be sending the same tech. After too much frustration I decided to just call another company. It turns out the original work was never done properly from the first time I had them out. I called them back for my money back as they never fixed the issued I had paid for. The best they would offer was half of my money back. They didn't do a great job and did not take responsibility and was reluctant to work with me so I would be satisfied. I would not use this company again for duct cleaning/repair.

They arrived on time. I was impressed with them. I would use them in the future. The quality of their work was good. They were professional while they worked. I would recommend them.

Doug was nothing but professional and helpful. After the installation, I realized that there was a miscommunication regarding what we wanted. Doug responded to my concerns and was willing to come out and change the type of cap if that is what I wanted. The only additional charge would have been the price difference of the items. He even agreed to allow us some time to make sure the cap put on was keeping out the animals. I was also very impressed because they checked our chimney to see if it needed to be cleaned, which would have cost an additional $50.00. Once they arrived at our home, they realized the chimney did not need to be cleaned. We appreciated the fact that they were honest and will definitely be calling when we do need our chimney cleaned!

Very well. They showed up on time, did an excellent job and cleaned up afterwards, answered a number of questions and gave two estimates on a recommended chimney repair. When I got a substantially lower estimate from another vendor for the repair, I contacted New Buck again to discuss the discrepancy. I felt the response was honest and complete and although I did end up using the other vendor, I would not hesitate to contact New Buck again for work or estimates.

The company was prompt in getting out to us to give us an estimate. Most of the repairs were covered by our home owner's insurance. The original estimate was given and the guys ran into unforeseeable issues with the repairs that were not discoverable until they began the repairs. They kept us in the loop with good communication and gave us some options with the repairs. Due to the condition of our chimney, it became almost impossible to repair our chimney back to it's original condition, so they offered to install a new wood burning stove, which we were able to pick out from a lot of models from their showroom, at no additional cost to us. We are very happy with the end result and repairs and the company did a great job with clean up.

Scheduled with Doug for someone to come out to evaluate and give me an estimate. On the day of the estimate, the guy (I believe his name was Mike) called me to say he would be delayed. I figured as well because on that day we had a bad snow storm. When he arrived, he even took off his shoes as not to track snow through the house. He took a look at the fireplace and discouraged any hopes of adding a gas heating source. He did recommend installing a pellet stove though. He said he didn't bring info on them. He said he would mail me info with an estimate. I was skeptical but agreed. I never got anything from them so decided not to call back on them.

I thought he was very nice and helpful. It could have cost me a couple hundred dollars, instead we only had to pay for the caulk he recommended to fix the issue ourselves. Keith Lloyd was prompt, personable, knowledgeable and did his best to keep my costs low, never charging for something I did not need.

Horrible! New Buck Chimney told us they did about 60 tile jobs a year and that was one major factor in hiring them to complete this task of the insert and tile work. It took us over 2 months, yes two months, to get this job completed to satisfaction. They rarely called us back. The employee would come to work on the job then would decide he needed something to complete the task but not come back. This would be with no courtesy phone call as to why he didn't come back when he said he would be back in an hour. This happened on more than one occasion. They had no regard for our time. We doubt they did much tile work because it took them 3 times before the tile even looked ok. The grout work was still poor and we ended up redoing it ourselves because it crumbled within a week. Then when we burned our fireplace insert, the caulking around the stove burned. When we called New Buck about it, we were told that we could replace it ourselves even though our stove was still new. Poor!

Well done. No fuss, no mess. He even lit a small fire in the stove to ensure that it was drawing well after returning the stove to its operating position.

The initial work requested was for the cleaning and inspecting of our chimney. Keith from New Buck Chimney Sweep did the sweep and inspection. He explained to me the repairs that were needed and wrote out an itemized estimate of the repairs. Since I was unsure about getting the repairs done, Keith offered to come out another evening to show my husband the problems that were found, which is exactly what he did. Keith was very informative and provided a pamphlet for each repair that was needed. Keith was very professional in doing the chimney sweep and repairs. He did a good job of cleaning up afterwards. The company was a little hard to get a hold of at times but it wasn't too bad. The only other minor problem that I had was that we requested information on having a stove insert put in our chimney but we never got the information.

They were very, very helpful. I talked to the person on the phone before they came over. They showed me some damage on the chimney. Their prices are very competitive and they even offered a discount of $20.00 off. I was very satisfied with them and would recommend them.

They were thorough in checking my entire fireplace system. I was happy that they found the cracks in the chimney that I was previously unaware of.

I have used them for years and they are fabulous. They always go above and beyond.

The experience with New Buck was pleasant from the first phone call. They showed up exactly when scheduled, did the job and followed up with the receipt to our fax as we requested. We choose to complete the suggested repairs ourselves and they were great with advice on what not to forget. Will use them again in the future.
