Lloyd, arrived on time, showed us the problem areas and explained what it would take to fix them. From the first phone call Ohio Exteriors, was very professional and courteous. Glad we used them.

The inspect and repair job seems to be done well. After the work was done, they reported that the roof really needed to be replaced, not a surprise in the case of this house. I asked for an estimate, they said the boss would have to go back out to inspect. A week went by, I called. The boss was on a trip, but they were going to send their best estimator out. A week went by, I called. The estimator had been ill, but was going to get out there the following week. A week went by, I called. He hadn't made it yet, but for sure by next Monday I would have the estimate. That was a week ago. I gave up and called several other well-rated and responsive roofing companies. Why should i have to chase a company to try to give them business? It makes no sense. And in the case of every delay, I had to call them to find out. Not professional.

The workers were very courteous. They provided a couple of pictures of potential problems with some missing flashing from the original construction before repairing these areas. Would definitely consider this company if I need additional roof or any other exterior maintenance.

Very good experience! Ohio Exteriors were able to come out and give an estimate at my convenience. Since I work throughout the week, they were willing to meet me both before I left for work or after work to go over the project which was convenient. Derek was the representative and did a great job communicating the entire project in terms of timing and cost. Throughout the project, they were very punctual answering emails in regards to updates and any developments that arose. In addition, they were knowledgeable on city permitting and german village specific permitting. They took all necessary steps to ensure documents were in place before starting the work. 50% downpayment to secure materials, balance 50% paid upon completion

The technician found several vent seals that were cracked and loose shingles. He photographed the bad areas on his phone so I could see them for myself. He sealed the cracks with sealer, whcih he said was a tempoary fix. He also nailed the loose shingles down , but showed me it was also temporary because they were broken. I really appreciated the photos so I could verify the problems and how he fixed them.

The roofer came to one of my properties, which was not the one I requested for checking. He was patching something on the roof when I drove to fetch him. He came with me and checked the other roof and found nothing wrong there. But that one does have a minor leak. He couldn't determine the cause. Due to the promotion at the time, the response was slow. I had to wait for about two weeks

The service was excellent. The service staff was courteous and helpful. They worked quickly but thoroughly. The only aspect of the service that could improve is the response time to my multiple e-mails and calls trying to schedule an appointment.

The deck is wonderful to look at and Derrick did a wonderful job. We had vapor lites added to the top and a real nice railing that matches our fence around the pool. We ordered windows for the back of the house since we were so pleased with the work done last year. This time it took longer to get them delivered from Polaris. When they did get put in I noticed that they were measured 1/4 inch shorter on each side and didn't have the tight fit they did last time. Too much caulk this time showed. They then put a quarter inch trim around the window area to hide the caulk and decorated the window area. We are happy with the windows, just wish they would have not showed so much caulk this time. Hoping we don't hear any whistling during heavy winds. Other than it taking longer than expected and so much caulk showing I am pleased with the work of Ohio Exteriors and still have to give them an A as they are honest and the owner is a good man!

Arrived promptly, discovered the shoddy job that was done by the sun room installers with the connection of the valley to the house at the time of that installation. Replaced the valleys correctly. Provided pictures as evidence for me. Gave a veteran's discount. Both the estimater and workers were very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

Called and made appointment for estimate on Monday the 10th September for 3:30pm appt on Wednesday Sept. 12th. No show and when called they explained the estimator had been ill for the last 4 days. Totally uneacceptable - should not have scheduled him when I made the appointment. Glad I found out early on, before I contracted any work. A simple coutesy call explling the situation well in advance, or scheduling another esitmator would have been the right approach.

The crew was thorough and professional. We were very pleased with the results, which included finding a repairing a siding hole which allowed water into our kitchen ceiling area.

The technician arrived approximately one hour late. My understanding was that he would work for 1.5 hours. Per the email offering I received through Angie's List, the work to be performed was gutter cleaning and roof inspection. The technician did nothing with the gutters on the main house. He caulked several spots on the roof of the main house. He cleaned the garage gutters. During the time he was on the garage roof I observed him standing and just speaking for a period of time on his cell phone. He remained only 45 minutes, not 1.5 hours. When he was leaving, I asked about the condition of the roof. I was told by him I should be saving for a new roof, but there was no real advice. I was told I would receive a report after the inspection. When I did not receive a report I had to contact the comapny. Only then did I receive a report via email. I feel describing the work done and the service provided as fair is charitable on my part. I wolud not use this company again and I would not recommend them to anyone else. Simply stated, I did not get my money's worth on this promotion. As such, I will be reticent to pursue other such offers through Angie's List.

We had a small water spot appear on my kitchen ceiling after some recent rain. I called a couple of companies off Angie's list and Ohio Exteriors was the most helpful when I called - so we took that appointment which was just a couple of days away. The repairman, Lloyd, arrived at the scheduled time and after seeing the spot immediately inspected the roof fully. We expecting to hear that we needed to replace the entire roof, but happily it just needed some minor repairs. Lloyd showed me pictures of the cracks on the vent casing where the active leak was and he also explained there were some loose shingles in the roof valley that needed to be repaired plus another vent casing and various nail pops, seals, ect to be repaired as well. Lloyd catching those other area before they caused a leak was really good. The repair estimate was very reasonable and it already included the Angie's list discount without me having to ask for it. Lloyd made time to complete my repairs the same day. When I explained we may be selling our home, Lloyd arranged to have a letter of certification sent to me that states that roof as been inspected and is in good repair now and good for 5 more years assuming no storm damage occurs during that period of course. This was a excellent service experience and I was very impressed at the honest estimate and quick repair. They could have easily told us we need a new roof and charged us thousands of dollars instead of just doing the required repairs for $300. I recommend Ohio Exteriors and will use them again myself whenever I need this type of service.

Overall, I was told that I would receive pictures of the roof a week after the inspection and the company has failed to provide the pictures. However, I did get a hand written quote the day of the visit and in the mail but I never received the pictures. I have chosen to go with another company because I didn't feel comfortable using this company simply because they never sent the pictures. I wanted to see the damage he was referring to in the quote.

Everything went smoothly. Arrived on time examined roof, explained what needed to be done and completed the job to my satisfaction.

Purchased Big Deal in July and made numerous phone calls to company and never received a phone call back after leaving several message.

Nice guy, punctual and professional. Services were cheap, $159 for some peel and stick rubber weather stripping most of which fell down within 2 weeks. And some clay put in window seams that once you open them for the first time after that no longer seal anything. I could have been more effective with $25 at Lowe's.

This is a difficult report to write. Now that it is all over, the house looks terrific. We have gotten many compliments from neighbors that our house looks like it's new; and it's over 100 years old.But the journey getting here...well, it was difficult.I should say that we had Ohio Exteriors replace our roof about three years ago and had an outstanding experience. So when it came time to replace our 20+ year old aluminum siding, we asked Ohio Exteriors for an estimate. We knew we wanted fiber-cement siding because a friend has it on his house and we really liked the look of it and the fact that it wears so well. I wanted this job to be complete before the summer started, so I asked for the estimate in February 2012. Bill (project manager) came out and measured everything, then called us several days later with what we felt was a very reasonable estimate. We agreed on the price and signed the contract in March, with a projected start date of mid- to late-April. I got a call several weeks later that the job would begin on April 23 and would last about 5 days.On April 23, Bill showed up early in the morning, as did the guy delivering the materials. That was it--no work got done, on that day or the next. Finally, a crew showed up on the 25th and started the tearoff of the old siding. No one came out the next day, but they were here Friday and Saturday. However, even I could see that the new siding wasn't being put on correctly. The first crew ended up being fired by Ohio Exteriors. Then there was a 10-day delay until a new crew could be obtained. They came out sporadically, tearing off some days and putting up the new siding on others. By the end of May, it was about 75% done...but it still wasn't being done right. The manufacturer's rep came out to my house and said they wouldn't warranty it as it stood because it wasn't being put on right. The second crew was also fired...and everything they had put on had to be torn off so we could start all over again.I must say here that a lesser company might have just put on the siding incorrectly and left. James (the owner) did come out and assured me the job would be done right. And it was, eventually. Of course, during the course of all this, my gutters got ruined and had to be replaced; and several of my roof vents were damaged and had to be replaced (I paid for the gutters, while Ohio Exteriors paid for the roof vents). The job that was started at the end of April finally got finished in mid-July.Bottom line: I think Ohio Exteriors is run by good people. My home eventually did get finished correctly, and they did take responsibility for the incorrect installation and do it over again.

It went very well. I was confident in their work.

I called almost a month in advance and the appointment was set for 11am today. At 11:10am, I called the office and the receptionist said that she would call me back. By 12:30pm, I had not heard back from her so I called them back two more times and did not get an answer. I called another two times, but each time they hung up me. I eventually used my cell phone to call them and they finally picked up the phone and said they had an emergency. They never called to inform me that there was an emergency and they would not coming to the appointment. I have since cancelled the big deal and am not going to use their services. UPDATE: At first the lady tried to blame me for not scheduling--It was raining. Later, I was given an apology and I agreed to give the company another chance. They came out on Friday. I scheduled for 10am. They showed up at 9:50am. The guy came, explained what needed to be done, and did a very good job. Overall, it was a very good experience. Angie's List was very helpful in taking care of this.

This has been our second consecutive Big Deal that has turned out poorly. Ohio Exteriors called us to schedule a time for the inspection. We agreed upon a date and time. Later, we realized because we had another contractor performing work on the exterior of our home, it would be necessary to reschedule for another time. I called the office and spoke with the receptionist and changed the date. A few days later, a crew from Ohio Exteriors showed up unexpectedly. I told them I had canceled the original appointment and couldn't do the inspection while I had another group of contractors working. They apologized and left. I called back and informed the receptionist. We confirmed July 30 for the inspection. Two workers showed up that morning and did the roof inspection. The deal included the following: clean all debris from your roof, gutters, and downspouts; inspect all flashings, including walls, valleys, chimneys, and skylights, caulk all flashings as neccessary; re-seal all heat stacks and soil boot pipe flashings, repair any nail pops and loose shingles, re-nail all gutter spikes; check for ice guard and offer tips to prevent ice damming this winter season; check for damage caused by weather, animals or any act of nature and provide a written estimate. The workers told me they found our roof needed additional repair, possibly replacement. That's something no homeowner wants to hear. They described some of the problems they found and once they returned to the office, we would receive follow-up call and a written estimate would be sent to us detailing what work needed to be done. That was two weeks ago. No call back.. No estimate. I have called Ohio Exteriors twice to find out where the estimate is. First, they said the worker who had the information had a personal emergency and was out of the office. They would get the information and call back. They didn't. I called a second time. This time a gentleman answered. He said, "I'll find out this information and get it to you by the end of the day. He didn't. Obviously, I have no intentions now of using Ohio Exteriors for any roof repairs. If they are this sloppy about providing an estimate, what would they be like doing the actual work? I don't care to find out. If I have to call a business twice to find out something they should have told me weeks ago, forget it. You don't want my business. What I do care to know is did they do any of the things they were supposed to do as part of the Big Deal and what happened to the estimate? I will have to call and pay someone else now to find out what the condition of my roof is. This has been a very frustrating and disappointing experience. Obviously, I do not recommend Ohio Exteriors, but after yet another bad Big Deal experience, I don't know if I will be buying another one again.

They did a good job. They were very professional and accommodating for my schedule.

They came out to do the work, but then let me know that I needed to have my own shingles for them to be able to do the roof maintenance, which I was never told in advance. We discussed the issue and re-scheduled for the following week (today). I purchased the shingles and I took the day off. They never called or showed up. They were apologetic and nice about it, so we rescheduled to have them come out to do the work at another time. Things improved substantially when a different worker came out to perform the maintenance on our rescheduled date. He was friendly, and very helpful. When he realized that my husband had bought the wrong type of shingles, he actually ran to the nearest hardware store to exchange them for the correct type for me. That was incredibly nice and understanding, and I appreciated it deeply. He then fixed as many of the small issues as he could, and let me know how much longer my roof would last, without trying to convince me that I needed a new one. It was a terrific experience, so when I do need a new roof or more work done, I know who I will call.

BEWARE....this company hires subcontractors to do their work. This happened to us and it did not go well. It took almost 2 months for the job to get done properly. The company's communication with customers is very frustrating as well.

THE BOTTOM LINE: This is a company of nice people that I am confident want to do the right thing to earn repeat business. The lack of response to my repeated requests as well as the lack of a formal report & photos on the condition of our roof have shaken my confidence that work was actually performed. THE DETAIL: We purchased the Big Deal for a Roof Inspection and 1.5 hours of Roof Maintenance for $149 for a home we had just closed on but were not yet living in. After the home inspection, we knew that the roof needed a little TLC and this seemed like the perfect way to make that happen. We were impressed that Ohio Exteriors was willing to come to the house on July 4 (the holiday) at 2PM to complete the inspection and maintenance, and had a very easy time scheduling the appointment with a friendly young woman. Our expectation was that in addition to the roof inspection on the house and the detached one-car garage, a few things would be addressed that had come up as part of the home inspection including the flashing around the plumbing stacks which needed to be renailed/resealed. When we arrived at 245PM the day of the appointment (only half-way into the appointment time), there was no evidence that anyone from Ohio Exteriors had been there. We called Ohio Exteriors to find out when their technician would be arriving, but not surprisingly there was no answer as it was a holiday. We waited until 4PM (now past the appointment end time) at which point we left another message asking for a call back to find out what had happened to the technician. Chris called me back very promptly the next day and explained that Jim (who was new to the company and unfamiliar with its policies) had been to the house and performed the work described above as well as taken pictures. Chris could not tell me what time Jim had been there, but did assure me that work had been done as needed. He was courteous, informative, and followed up by promptly emailing me a short list of what Jim had done (none of which appeared to include inspection of roof of the detached garage or resealing the flashing around the plumbing stacks). T hree days later I emailed Chris to ask that he send me the pictures of the work that Jim had done as evidence that the work had been performed; 11 days later I reiterated the request; and two weeks after that (today) I sent my last request which finally yielded a response and BEFORE, but not AFTER pictures.
