The door Mr. Surowiec first suggested was no longer available. He found an alternative that was equally as good. Ken, the installer worked very professionally, even redoing part because it did not go together as well as he liked. This meant it took longer than the original time frame but the opening was securely closed during the 2 1/ days until completion. As the security system was being reattached it was noticed that the pieces of door frame were not tightly "glued" leaving a slight gap. I was not at home when Ken stopped by to look at this but from my description we all agree it is a manufacturing error. Mr Surowiec has contacted the manufacturer and we are awaiting a visit from them. It has been about 3 weeks and no word but the holiday season may have caused a delay in responding to his call

Larry Suroweic came out to talk to me about doors in September of 2011, he was very thorough explaining all of the options for us, measured the doors and explained what would be done. We signed an acceptance proposal and then on November 14th, Ken S. came out to install the doors. It took most of the day, he had to take off the wood work around the doors and put it back on(it will need painted). It can be messy, but he cleaned up the area where he was working well and was able to answer my questions.

I think they are on Angie’s List. They charged us $1150 for their services. Overall, they were very professional and prompt. Their price was reasonable. We are using them again.

This was a great experience, from beginning to end. Larry came out to measure all the windows we wanted to replace and provide an estimate. He talked through our priorities with us, and even explained why we should wait to replace one of the windows. He emailed us a detailed estimate a day or two later (which was about 1/3 less than another estimate we had gotten). We placed the order, and Larry called us about 4 weeks later, once the windows had been manufactured, to schedule installation days. Ken and Dann were the installers. Both very nice guys, friendly, professional, hard-working. They showed up when they said they would be here, and kept their work areas very clean. They were able to tear out 15 old, 1950s aluminum windows, install the 15 vinyl replacement windows, and do all the trim work, caulking, etc. in less than 2 days. We were very impressed.

Columbus Window & Door was recommended by a friend. At the quote I mentioned checking them on Angie's List, and the gave me the no-money-down deal.I specifically requested a quote on triple-paned windows, which their main supplier doesn't make. They quoted me the double-paned product from the regular supplier and then contacted a former supplier and gave me a quote for the triple-paned windows. I opted to go with the triple-panes, and they gave me a date window about 8 weeks away. A month later I got a call saying my windows were in, and we scheduled the day -- with the same contractor who had installed my friend's windows. (Apparently few enough people ask for triple-pane that we're memorable.) The contractor brought an assistant to help lift the heavy triple-paned picture window, and was showing his assistant how to finish the caulking. However, the assistant mostly fetched and cleaned up. The job was done less than 7 hours after they arrived.

The installer did a great job and was very professional and neat.

Larry, the sales person, came and inspected our old entry door which was made of wood. He was very thorough and he explained our options (fiberglass or steel). I initially got a quote from another company (which I had used before and gave A's) but they only used one door manufacturer and their products are rather pricey (but also of excellent quality). Larry also uses that manufacturer but he also uses a lower priced manufacturer which he was able to offer. That's why we went with his company. Ken, the installer, came at the scheduled time and did an outstanding job. We are very satisfied with our new entry door. It may not be the same top quality as the other manufacturer but it's still better than what you would find at Home Depot or Lowes. I would hire this company again and definitely recommend them to others.

Larry was able to come within a few days of our initial call. He was very detailed oriented and knowledgeable. He quickly understood what we wanted to accomplish and had several ideas. The doors took longer than Larry quoted to us, but that was out of his control and they were worth the wait. One very small part (cover for inside screw) did not come with the door so it had to be ordered. Ken, the installer, came back when the part arrived and finished the job. Doors look great and no issues were experienced during the installation.

Overall I was pleased with the product and installation.

They are stronger at doing the windows than they are doing the door. But they are punctual and cleaned up after themselves. We used them because they had done 10 windows last year for us and did an outstanding project. Just one guy came out that time and did it himself. He was really calm and professional. That's whey we used them again this time. The scheduling worked out fine, it was a little tricky because of the weather, but other than that, no issue.

Our sliding glass door to our deck was destroyed during a break-in. The glass was very old (over 30 years) and had been shattered by a rock to gain entrance to the house. The owner of Columbus Window, Larry Surowiec, came and gave us an estimate as requested. The priced was very reasonable; however we had to wait while the door was being constructed (from December 6 to January 27, 2011). In the end, we were very pleased with our beautiful new door and how well it was installed and trimmed out. I would recommend Columbus Window & Door to others.

The installer was obviously very experienced. He also was effective in explaining what the was doing as he did the installation. He thoroughly cleaned up and finished in just more than a half day. We believe that the new windows are superior to the previous replacement windows that we had.

Had multiple estimates, they are one of the better priced and no high pressure sales. Everyone spoke english, arrived on time for estimate and install, cleaned up mess and was polite. Was a great experience.

The doors are all wonderful and installation is impeccable. One door was not measured to allow for clearance of the garage door movement, and it was reordered and custom cut for no charge. The triple door out to garage has a couple of manufacturer issues, and Larry is taking care of calling to expedite warranty service. My only complaint was that the manufacturer was behind in filling the orders, so it took a couple of months to completely finish the job. ie, patio doors were installed in one day in the beginning of August. Yard and driveway doors were installed at the end of August and the door to the garage was installed in October. However, I was only charged for each door as it was completed. Larry is very responsive and works hard to address issues and kept me informed along the way. Would use this company again

Larry was very nice to work with. My first contact with him was for some information to which he provided plenty including reasons why the other product I was considering may concern me. I had asked him if he carried a competitor's product so he was being honest in telling me specifically why he uses the products he does. Bottom line, Larry's product performed better at a lower price and he guaranteed the best quality of installation available. The installer, Ken, showed up on installation day on-time and completed the project in about 30 minutes less than Larry estimated. I cannot emphasize enough how good of an installer Ken is. His attention to detail and professionalism in home renovation work is the best I have come across. The door looks great from across the room but if you look closely you'd see even down to the caulking it looks great. A pleasure to work with these gentlemen, would hire again.

They did a great job. They are great to work with. They seem to do quality work. They are very professional. The prices tend to reasonable.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience!! From start to finish, Larry was there - every step of the way. He was punctual, informative, and "low pressure". He even noticed that a few kitchen windows that needed replaced were still under warranty with Pella and worked with me to get that taken care of (by Pella - not Columbus Window/Door, even though he could've done the work). I secured two other quotes for the back door project and Columbus Window and Door was BY FAR the most reasonable. At installation, Ken was a true professional. We are so happy with the work that was completed. Ken was personable, detail oriented and neat in his work area. The door that was replaced looks like it has been there for years. You would never know that any work was done! The storm door is sturdy and just what we wanted - matches our trim perfectly! I give Columbus Window and Door my highest recommendation and hope I have the opportunity to work with them again in the future!

Wow! This is a good company. It is the first time I have used them and would use them again. The sales process was informative and low pressure. Larry was on time and made sure we covered every option and concern. The best part was the installation. Ken the installer showed up on time and went right to work. His quality of work is excellent. I'm pretty particular about the way things are done, and I found Ken's work to be top notch. The door is perfectly installed, feels very solid and tight. The door gaps, caulking and trim work are perfect. His cleanup inside and out was very well done. Their estimate was right in line with another estimate that I received, so I think they were competitive in price. Well done guys, keep up the good work.

The service was great. Larry was able to give us a quote on July 4th weekend. He explained the products and measured the doors we wanted replaced. Once the order was signed and placed with the factory, three weeks or so we scheduled for the install. Ken came out and installed both sliding patio doors in the am and installed the front entry door in the pm while my Husband was home. He was just finishing the lock and handle on the door when I got home from work. We did notice that the locks on the sliding doors operated different from each other. We ordered the same door for each patio opening. We asked for a new lock for one of the doors so that both locks were the same. This took a little longer to get ordered and install but come to find that the locks from the factory were bent in one degree or another. Ken came back out and replaced one lock and straighten out the other so both now operate the same and as they were designed to.

I requested quotes from six different companies, but only two provided the written quotes I requested, despite their assurances that they would provide them. One of the window replacements was a difficult project because it was over a greenhouse and involved some roof modification. Only Larry Surowiec, the president of Columbus Window& Door, seemed to really appreciate the difficulties involved. His quote was not the lowest, but his presentation was more comprehensive and included correction of the problems others didn't see or address adequately. They arrived on time as scheduled, and completed the job on time as scheduled (three days). Painting was done by a recommended sub contractor, Certa Pro Painters, at a cost of $845, included in the cost reported above (two more days). We are extremely satisfied with the final project.

We got our new windows from this company last spring, and returned to them for the door because we were so impressed with their service and attention to detail. Larry, the owner, went over all of the options with me extensively, and revised his estimate several times to fit my constantly changing mind about what I needed/wanted. When the situation became urgent because our old door had literally fallen off the frame, Larry moved us to the head of his project list and had his installer out within two days to install our new door. It looks great, works great, and is exactly what we needed. I will definitely recommend this company to friends and will use them again.

We were very pleased with our dealings with Columbus Window and Door. We recently had our double front doors replaced by them with fiberglass energy star quality doors, which are eligible for the tax credit. The quality of the materials, the color choices and the knowledge of the installer were both excellent. We plan on using them again in the future for our rear entrance door.

They came out to give us a quote and put it in writing within days. Larry did an excellent job of explaining the options available and pros and cons for different types and grades of doors. The bid was fair based on other estimates and shopping around on our own at retail outlets. The doors arrived in the time frame we were given and installation was scheduled in a matter of days. The installer was knowledgeable and thorough and did a great job of installation, cleaning up and removing debris. He (Ken) was very professional. A few days after installation, the new storm door began to "stick". We called and they stopped by to make a minor adjustment, which solved the problem. Overall, we could not be more pleased with the look, fit and quality of our new entry doors.

I was impressed with Larry's knowledge, professionalism, and overall consideration about our windows. We haven't had them replaced yet, but Columbus Window and Door has definitely earned our respect as a good local company doing honest work.

I didn?t use them because I decided not to do the work. They were very responsive. I wasn?t there in person so we did everything over the phone. The man I spoke to was really good about walking me through the work he was quoting and all of the different options. If I had decided to do the work, I would?ve chosen them and I may go back to them later. It took him a little longer to get back to me than I thought it would but it wasn?t that bad.
