The Waterworks

They were fine. Their costs were reasonable.

We have been customers of "The Waterworks" for years and normally have been very satisfied. That's why we called them when one of our bathtubs was having some problems with the shower diverter working correctly and the drain easily getting backed up. The actual quality of work and professionalism of the technician were fine. Our big problem was the price. Looking at Home Depot and Lowes, the parts installed in our bathroom could not cost more than $50. This means the cost to Waterworks was probably much less. Waterworks does not normally break out parts and labor, but charges per work item. This usually isn't an issue, but for whatever reason the work performed at our house only took 30-45 minutes, but they charged $485 for the job. Even with tax and parts, this is $400 of labor for 30 minutes of work. Even attorney's don't normally charge $800 per hour. I called Waterworks customer service twice to ask about the charge, because normally they've been very reasonable. The person who answered the phone said it did sound like a lot, but we would need to talk to a manager to address things. They took our phone number and said a manager would call back within two days. Now, more than two weeks after the last call, we have still never heard back. While we're not ready to call the better business bureau, we are not planning on making Waterworks our first choice of plumber in the future.

All went very well. The two gentlemen were prompt, professional, and courteous. All work was done exceptionally and insured everything met local code.

I contacted the Waterworks for an estimate for a sink installation. They responded very quickly and the polite and professional person who answered my email set up an appointment for someone to come by the next day. Off to a great start, right? Unfortunately, on the day of my appointment I waited around the house for 4 1/2 hours and they never showed. About an hour and a half after I gave up and left the house, they called and offered to send a technician over. I explained to the person on the phone that they were supposed to have been there between 12 and 4. She told me they were busy. That's understandable. But guess who else is busy? Me. And I resent wasting 4 1/2 hours of my day off sitting around for a service person who never shows, and is too busy to call. She offered to reschedule, but I would not give my business to a company with so little regard for a (potential) customers time.

I'm a big fan of Waterworks - they've been very responsive and helped us out of bad situations several times. However, our recent visit was to check on and ultimately quote us for replacing 2 water heaters. WaterWorks quote was over 2X another highly rated provider in town provided (and eventually won the business). I'm a believer in brand loyalty and even willing to pay a premium for good service - but 2X was a bit egregious.

The provider called before coming and was at the house by 9am on a Friday. I had originally asked them to snake drains in both the master and guest bathrooms, but after investigating, they stated that the drains in the guest bathroom were running fine. They didn't want to charge me for work that needed to be done. They were very professional and quick. The cost was less than I expected because they only worked in the one bathroom. I would hire this provider again for plumbing needs.

The service was good.? There was one worker that took about two and a half hours.? They were good.? The workers cleaned everything up before they left.? I would tell a friend to use them.

As an Angie's List member I wanted to utilize the $35.00 discount offered but due to network issues I was unable to print the coupon at the time of service. The plumbers said just call back in or send your invoice with the coupon and they will honor it. I finally remembered to call them today and was told I would be unable to use the $35.00 discount. Although they did do a quality job for an inflated price, I'm extremely disappointed in the customer service and won't be utilizing this company in the future.

Yesterday I called The Waterworks company because we used them before after finding them on Angie's List. I wondered if they could come out this morning and they had someone available. They called to confirm that evening. Jim arrived right on time and I told him about the two jobs we had. The shower head was a quick process but the toilet required more attention. Jim wound up replacing several parts inside the tank. We are very pleased with the work he did. We used the Angie's list coupon which reduced our final bill considerably. We will use this company again and we are so glad we found them on Angie's list.

A sudden leak in the basement at 5:30 p.m.. More than a drip, this leak needs immediate attention. Now, 12 hours later, it still needs immediate attention. The Waterworks was not helpful. I called The Waterworks at the end of the business day, 5:35 p.m. The representative told me that a plumber would be in our home in 30-45 minutes. I would have to pay $100 and give them my credit card number. I complied. I was cheerful and patient. 7:35 p.m.: no plumber. I called again. "We'll let you know in about 30 minutes, when he's on his way." 10:18 p.m.: no plumber. "You are the very next person in line (on the dispatching list). We'll let you know when the next plumber is ready, which will be about 30 minutes before he arrives." 11:28 p.m.: no call, no plumber. I called again. "We'll let you know in about 30 minutes, when he's on his way." Because of The Waterworks, I didn't call another plumber. Each call restored my hope that they were sending a plumber. Each call was inaccurate. The last person I talked to apologized and I explained that I didn't believe it when he said, "We'll let you know in about 30 minutes, when he's on his way." I canceled the call. Here is the provider's core skills: maintaining hope, claiming 24-hour service, describing the overtime charge, collecting the credit card information, being very pleasant on the phone, keeping careful track of the times I called, and being honest (Final call: "I don't know what's going on here. I just arrived and am picking up the pieces. I see she told you a plumber was being dispatched, but one wasn't dispatched.") Here is what the provider never did: send a plumber. This morning I need to find a plumber.

We had used Waterworks once before so it was a company we at least had some experience with. We knew they were not the least expensive, but wanted to use a company that would do the work right. Our previous job was minor, so their higher rates were not as apparent. We encountered their pricing policy then, but didnt know it was their standard way of doing business. Their procedure is to write up several estimates of more than you want done with a high price point. It then makes you feel you s re getting a bbc.co

It was a good experience. They were very professional and showed up on time. They did a good job and communicated with us. We were very satisfied. I would tell others to use them for we had a good experience.

They came out very quickly to one of my rental properties (I was not present), the evening of my phone call, called me on their way, again upon determining the problem (within 10 minutes of arrival), and a third time when the repair was completed. They suggested a $180 repair vs a $1200 replacement because, even though the water tank is significantly older than the expected life, it appeared to be in good condition and working fine otherwise. Also agreed that if the repair didn?t work, they wouldn?t charge for it if I had them replace the whole tank. Very courteous, responsive, and respectful of my time and money.

Everything was fixed properly.

Put xanthan gum down the disposal. Turns out when mixed with water xanthan gum turns into a gooey mess and clogged up the drain. We emptied the traps and tried snaking it ourselves but it didn't fix the problem. Called Waterworks Sunday evening at 10:00 pm and they scheduled us for the next day. The person who came to fix the drain was very professional and fixed the problem to our satisfaction and even gave us some tips about what not to put in the garbage disposal, how to clean it and how best to clean the pipes. Would definitely use this company again.

They did a good job. They were almost twice the price of the other company.

One of the coldest days of the year our gas had to be shut off by the gas company. We had a leak on the exterior between the gas meter and the house. Called waterworks and they were there with in an hour! Ryan was a very professional and explained every step of the process. He went above and beyond! The leak was in the worst spot possible, under ground about 20 inches. He came up with a solution that did not involve digging down in frozen dirt and waiting until OUPS could come, two days later. He suggested to drill though the wall and install the gas line above grade. ( It was 1 (ONE) degree outside, most of his work was outside). Thank you Waterworks for employing a great employee!!!! Thank You Ryan for going above and beyond!!!

I called at 8:05 a.m. on a Monday morning. The lady who answered the phone was extremely helpful and asked if I would like to be put on today's schedule. I was surprised because I thought that calling on a Monday morning would mean a couple of days waiting for an appointment. We had had a significant amount of rain on the previous Friday and Saturday (1-1/2 inches) and our garage flooded. I thought it was a clogged drain in front of the garage, however the two service technicians who responded to our address discovered the sump pump was bad. When they manually started the pump, the water immediately started to drain, so we decided to get a new sump pump. They had one on their truck and installed it within a half hour. They called approximately a half-hour before arriving which was really appreciated and were very courteous and professional. One of the service techs, Cliff, advised that from his inspection of the rear of the house to the street would probably need new pipes and suggested that we have an estimate in the spring time for this job. We've known since we bought the house that drainage was a problem, so we definitely will give Water Works a call for this project. We would definitely recommend Water Works to anyone who needs any drainage/plumbing work.

Chris arrived on time and seemed very professional. We were able to use Angie's coupon and saved $35 dollars. He did a very good job and I highly recommend him. This was a call on a Saturday and that is why the price was so high. There is an automatic surcharge of $100 dollars.

Technician was to arrive between 12:00-4:00 p.m. Did not arrive until after 5:00 p.m. He performed several troubleshooting activities but was unable to determine the cause or fix the problem. Had he arrived within the time slot, he could have spoken with WaterBoss cusomter service (which closes at 5:00). The technician did state upfront that he might not be able to fix the issue but, at that point, after you've waited all afternoon what are you supposed to do? Bottom line: the issue was not fixed and I was charged $100+ for the experience (and that charge was after a $35 discount coupon from Angie's List!).

I was called 20 minutes before arrival. Mick was very professional and was thorough about what he was going to do. He had to go to Home Depot to get the part and came back and replaced the faucet. Although I will most likely use them again primarily due to their excellent customer service, professionalism and punctuality, a couple of things to note. First, there is a $50 service fee which is not mentioned on the phone nor on the page on Angie's List. Second, to receive the 10% senior discount, you have to show a Golden Buckeye card which is also not mentioned. Also, the senior discount only applies up to $25. Third, you cannot use the discount coupon if provided in addition to the senior discount. I think all of this information should be provided to the customer. Even though I am a senior, I could not use the discount because I had a coupon which they provided on their page. I was very pleased with the work and going forward will be sure to ask all these questions before having the work done.

The service call exceeded expectations. The provider called twenty minutes before arrival. He was totally professional. He carefully checked the situation. He gave me an estimate for the price that was what he actually charged. The serviceman was professional, courteous, polite, and seemed totally competent. When he was finished he explained what the had done and asked if there was anything else he could do. He left no trace and cleaned up after himself. He even locked the side door again before he left. I would totally recommend this provider and will use them again. Great job Waterworks!

Came by on time and provided exactly the scoping only service I wanted. He was very friendly and knowledgable about what I wanted. Cost was a little expensive even after discount for only 1 hour of work

They came in and did the job thoroughly probably less than one hour

We were very pleased. We called Waterworks in the morning and the plumbers were here by mid afternoon. We were given a call 20 minutes prior to their arrival. Both gentlemen were very professional starting with putting ?booties? on over their shoes when they came into the house. They explained everything they were doing and needed to do, they gave us a price for what needed to be done prior to doing the actual work, and they were very pleasant to deal with. They also saved us some money because they originally said they?d have to replace the cartridge in the shower, but when they got into it, they found the blockage, cleared it, and saved us the price of a new cartridge. They also gave us a reminder about the coupon on Angie?s List, which we appreciated. We would definitely call them again if needed, and we?d probably request Cory, the plumber who did the work, again if he was available.
