Zach is the plumber that came to our house... And we really like him. He seems to be a young healthy man and appears to be a nonsmoker which is what we prefer for contractors working at our house. I really think Zach is nice and professional. He did good work at our house and is very respectable. We will be calling on his services again. Thank you Zach!

The Waterworks person came out and looked at what we wanted to have done. He said he would email us a quote to put in the gas line from the Columbia Gas line, into our house and to where we are going to be installing a new furnace. we never got that email. Over a period of a week my wife called them once and I called twice. Still no quote. I guess they did not want out business. I called and talked to Jeremy who is a Customer Service Supervisor and he apologized. He said he would be happy to contact the technician to get the quote. I told him no thanks - it should not take 4 calls to get a quote emailed to us. I asked him what he would do if he was the customer and he said the same thing I am doing.

American Leak Seekers never showed up for their appointment. I called them 30 minutes after the scheduled appointment. The person I talked to informed me that he thought they had called me and would not be able to send out an employee to look at our leak (keep in mind this is after waiting 2 weeks to get on their schedule). Also had the nerve to ask if he could reschedule us for next week. Embarrassing customer service, especially when considering we are talking about a water leak in the home.
Description of Work: Provider visited our house to assess origin of leak in our basement and suggested we reach out to one of their business partners, American Leak Seekers, who are equipped to identify the origin of the leak. We scheduled an appointment with American Leak Seekers for October 9 (a wait of approximately 2 weeks from when we made the appointment.

The Waterworks does not quote costs for services over the phone. They do not estimate their hourly rate. They have a price list for the various services they perform but tightly guard it and do no disclose figures. I desperately needed a plumber and wanted to work with the Waterworks, based on the reviews on Angie's List, but two employees adamantly refused to even ballpark a cost, even after I described the job in great detail - reinstall the toilet my carpenter removed the day before. I realize contractors do not have crystal balls. I realize a lot can go wrong the minute a plumber, electrician, window tech, carpet installer or other expert starts to work on an issue in your home. I also highly respect that contractors are experts in their field and deserve to be compensated accordingly. However, I am not an idiot. I am not going to throw myself at the mercy of a total stranger and let them decide, after they see my job (which was semi-urgent as we like to use our toilet on a regular basis), how much it might cost. Sure, I can decline the service at that point - but then I do not have a usable toilet. I begged for a ballpark estimate, I shared what other plumbers in Columbus were quoting me, I promised to pay a fair fee - no luck. I asked to talk to one of the field team members to see if he/she could tell me what a job of my type regularly cost - they refused to even let me talk to a plumber. What? I called a plumbing company and I was NOT allowed to talk to a plumber. Right. I paid Narrow Path Plumbing $85 to reinstall my toilet, which they did in 45 minutes. If you like to know, generally, how much a non-catastrophic repair is going to cost, don't use the Waterworks.

In most cases for our Residential customers, at The Waterworks we charge by the job and not by the hour and that saves our customer’s money. Our service professionals are trained to diagnose the job and provide you with the exact price before he starts. You won’t be surprised by quoting one price and then charging a different price when we are done. Our customers tell us they prefer an accurate price based on their exact needs. Phone estimates are usually inaccurate. We don’t think it is fair to our customers to provide inaccurate information over the phone. By allowing us to diagnose the job in person, you will know exactly what it will take to get the job done. We offer a no obligation, no commitment service to our customer in Franklin county depending on the scope of work, which means once our technician has diagnose the job in person and provided the customer with a upfront written estimate to complete the job, the customer has option to either accept or decline the estimate. If the customer accepts the technician will start the work. If customer, declines the technician will move on to his next job and there is no out of pocket cost for the customer.

This has been a nightmare process with this company. Part of this job was related to an insurance claim. We had a shower drain leak into our kitchen ceiling. We call them and they came out and fixed the drain and charge us $400 essentially to just repair the pipe. We turned this into our homeowners insurance, So they gave us a quote for this of $1200 for the repair. We ask them to add some Canned lighting and do some more painting in our kitchen. We then received a quote of $2600. I assume this was for the whole job including the initial quote. I ask them to send me a break down of cost, labor etc.. All we got was an e-mail that said the cost electrician was $800 and the rest was for painting and dry wall repair. We signed that document. Then when the electrician came he ask us for payment directly for his portion $517. We discussed this with waterworks and was told this would be taken off the bill. They spent very little time in our house and did a poor job with the painting. We discussed with them that cost was very high for the amount of time they spent and the work that they did. They agreed and lowered the bill. We had only signed the one contract for the $2600 initially. Then they said we owed both invoices of the $1200 and the $2600. We have had on going conversation about the final cost and they were quite unreasonable with possible settlement of this invoice. They miss lead us in the beginning about the cost of the work. We would have never signed the agreement for the $2600 had we thought the $1200 was not included in the price. Actually we only signed that agreement and we never signed the $1200 contract. We currently have paid them over $1800 dollars and and i have tried to negotiate in good faith and offer to pay $500 more dollars to settle this invoice they refused and are insisting we owe them another $900, and refused to deduct the money we already paid to the electrician. AVOID THESE GUYS AT ALL COST

I do apologize for the delay in receiving a response. I have reviewed your service that was completed by The Waterworks and have spoken with the Restoration division in reference to your review. Here at The Waterworks we make sure that we put together estimates for any type of job that is being done by our Restoration division. In these estimates we document a breakdown of the work that needs to be done in detail and the estimators go over them so that our customers are aware of what type of service they are receiving. The estimates (contracts) do need to be signed and ½ of the funds are collected up front before any of the work gets started. I do understand that the Restoration division did agree to deduct some of cost off the bill and they did deduct the amount that was paid to the electrician. Which left a remaining balance from what has already been paid and the deductions they adjusted off from the original contract.

I talked to two people from the company. Both were extremely unhelpful and neither could provide information on their neighboring companies who could possibly help me. Very displeased with their service and attitude.
Description of Work: Nothing. I scheduled a morning appointment with them because they don't have actual times on their appointments; first mistake. Second, on the day of the appointment, they call me back to tell them they dont provide the service I need. A total waste of my day as I now have to search for a new company to handle my problem.

Good Morning, I do apologize for the delay in response. I have reviewed your service order that was scheduled on 08/10/2015 for a well pump that was not working properly. At the time that the call was placed, my customer service representative was under the impression that we worked on well pumps. When we were reviewing the calls for the technicians the next day (08/11/2015) we verified with the plumbing manager to see if we were able to service this type of pump. At that time my csr was made aware that we are not able to work on well pumps. I wanted to make sure that we called you as soon as possible, so that you were able to reach out to another company. I assure you that the customer service department has been coached on this type of situation. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Beverly Sinclair Customer Service Supervisor

This provider replaced our drain pipe a couple of years, ago, and it went okay. Although they did not have to enter the home, someone had to be here with them, so I had to take 1/2 day off work. Also, you have to make sure you answer their service call before they come for the service. But, they do not seem to be concerned with customer service or repeat business. Today, I tried to schedule another service with them. The rep indicated that they got a new computer system ~ 1 year ago and they did not bother to transfer over their customer list (the rep indicated that we were probably not in the new system and she was right). They refused to work with me because my name is not actually on the deed to the home and were going so far as to check the auditor's site for verification. It doesn't matter that I'm the same person that worked with them a couple of years ago on the other job and took time off from my own (new) job to supervise them. The rep indicated that they were okay with losing my business. A business that has so little regard for their customers is not a business that I would continue to do business with.

Response from The Waterworks
Good Morning, I do apologize for the delay in response. Here at The Waterworks we make sure that we provide the best service as possible. In regards to your complaint I would like to look at a couple things. When you call in for service we provide a 4 hour window for service, but we call 30 minutes prior to the technician coming out. We do this to make sure that our customer is available before we send a technician out. Also, yes we did update our computer systems about over a year ago. The reason that we didn’t transfer over our customers information is because we wanted to make sure that our systems had the most accurate and up to date information. When you spoke to the customer service representative she asked if you were the home owner and at that time you advised that you were the girlfriend of the home owner. Then the customer service representative advised that in order for us to place a service call and per The Waterworks policy/guidelines we would need to speak to the homeowner. When we place service calls we make sure that we are speaking to the homeowner which is verified through the auditor’s site of your county in which you reside. It is vital that the owner of the property authorizes the work in order to avoid liability and payment collection issues. I understand that you have authorized service in the past; however, we recently implemented new policies to protect our customers and our company. We really do appreciate your business and we value you as a customer. I hope you understand why we had to implement the change in scheduling service. We would be more than happy to help service your drain, plumbing, restoration excavation needs in he future. Beverly Sinclair Customer Service Supervisor

We discovered on a Friday afternoon that our sump pump had failed and our basement had sustained a good deal of water damage. With all of the rain this summer, we wanted to get a sump pump back in action, so we called The Waterworks. They worked to squeeze us in still within regular business (=regular fee) hours, and by late Friday night, our new system -- including back-up -- was up and running. Both the office manager and the plumber were friendly and professional. The plumber was also thorough and patient explaining the ins and outs to my husband and me, which was extra helpful given our stress dealing with the flooded basement. We've used The Waterworks for basic and complex plumbing needs, and we will continue to do so with enthusiasm.

While the guy was efficient back in April the job was incomplete. I shouldn't have to make sure a job was complete and it is at a part of the house I don't see on a daily basis so I had no idea the pipe was disconnected so now my sump pump has to work twice as hard. I contacted the WaterWorks and they said in order for me to not have to pay someone to come out I had to file a complaint on 6/16/2015 and I was told I would be contacted by a manager who would review the work and make a judgement. I called again and spoke to Elizabeth and she said she would get it to the manager right away and he/she would get back to me ASAP that was 7/2/2015. I need them to fix the job they didn't complete oh and did I mention the plumber was let go unceremoniously or so I was told which makes me believe I am right and the work was not done to completion. They are overpriced and while their people who answer the phone are nice and polite the rest of the business has a lot to be desired. Not sure I will ever use them again especially if they do not respond to my request
Description of Work: Back in April 2014 replaced sump pump but unbeknownst to me they failed to make sure the pipe that leads outside of the house was connected. Called twice to have a manager review the work since it was past their 90 day warranty and have yet to receive a response

The tech came out because we found water coming from somewhere at the base of the toilet. We discovered this because there was a water spot on the carpet in our closet and eventually traced the water back to behind the wall dividing closet and toilet. I had already removed the toilet but did not disconnect the water line because I wanted the tech to see it as it was to make a proper diagnosis of the problem. He came out and looked around and insisted it must be the seal on the floor as this was the only possible explanation. I challenged this because the water leak had absolutely no odor and was clearly clean water, not sewage. I asked if it was possible for sewage water to have no odor at all and he said, "Well, sometimes it can." Right. When I continued to challenge this and say it didn't make sense he looked around some more and said there was no other possible explanation. Then I asked him if there could be something wrong with the toilet itself. He looked around some more and only then did he look under the toilet and found the leak. There are three screws attaching the tank to the bowl and one of them was loose. It was wet around the seal and would completely account for clean water leaking on to the carpet. He then let me know that I was going to need a "major rebuild" of my toilet and I was going to need a new wax ring (I have the new foamy "eco green" rings). I asked him why I needed it changed and eventually he said it was because he had never used one of them before but agreed that since there was nothing wrong with it I could still use it but he would not be able to warranty it. He then told me that in order to fix the loose screw it was going to cost me $388. I let him know that for that price I could buy a brand new toilet and pay someone to install it from scratch. I told him those services would not be necessary and I knew (because the guy taking my call told me) that I would be responsible for the $100 service call minus a $35 Angie's List coupon. The guy that took the call said it was $100 for a service call and any other work would be extra. When I tried to use the coupon the tech told me I couldn't because he didn't do any actual work. When I looked back on the coupon it said $35 off any service call. I emailed the company letting them know I was going to post this review in case they wanted to talk to me about it first. That was several days ago and no one ever contacted me. I will definitely NOT be using them again.

We woke in the middle of the night to find water spraying from under our kitchen sink. We turned the water supply for the house off and called Waterworks. They were unable to come overnight but arrived first thing in the morning. Chris was both professional and friendly. He appeared to be experienced/skilled and efficient. He resolved the issue and gave us some tips about homeowner plumbing maintenance. We felt so good about his work we asked him to fix an existing drain problem that we had attempted to self fix several times. 6 weeks later both items are working as they should and are calling them for a slow draining bathtub today.

On Tuesday 6/23/15 I had heard nothing by 130p so I call the office. The woman that answered checked on the progress and informed me that my home was still on the board and they should contact me prior to arriving. I received a call stating that they were on their way and it would be 40-45 min. this was about 3p. A gentleman arrived and stated he was here to check the hot water tank. He told me the fee to re-light was $165. he brought up the fees on his tablet and corrected the amount. it would be $148 if the thermocouple didn't need replaced. The service call was $50 and the rest one hour of service. He was here about 10 minutes. blew out the tubing and put it back and lit the tank. The fee was a bit pricey but it got done. I waited until 540p to call back to the office since the other crew had not called or shown up yet. I talked to a female that didn't know what was going on. she stated that she heard that they were out of equipment and were done for the day. she stated that she would call someone and get back to me. I waited about another hour and called the office again. the same female answered and stated that she didn't know what happened and did I want to schedule for the next day. I informed her that I had taken the entire day off work to be here and that I was really upset that I was told someone would show up and they didn't. I asked her to have the supervisor call me. I then went to the store to buy some products to disinfect the basement myself. while shopping I received a phone call from another female. she stated she was the one that had talked to me at 130p. she stated she didn't know what had happened and that she could schedule for someone to come out the next day. I again informed this person that I had taken the day off work and could not do so again. After feeling like I was at fault I asked again for the supervisor or person in charge to contact me in the morning. I went to work and didn't get a call so once again I called the office. I asked to speak to the person in charge and was told that I could speak to the tech to determine when they could get to my home. I told them that I didn't want to talk to the tech but a person higher up. I received a call from the tech about 30 mins later. He told me that I should not have been told a specific day or time that they would be out. he went on to tell me how many calls they got...I told him that I realized all the companies were very busy due to the flooding but that I was in fact told not once but twice that a crew would be to my home on Tuesday 6/23/15. He stated that he could maybe get someone out that afternoon and I told him again that I was not home but at work. He didn't hear what I was saying nor did he every apologize for the whole ordeal. he then said well I could probably get someone out the next morning. again I told him I had to work. I told him that I wanted the manager/supervisor to contact me. It is now Friday 6/26/15 and I have not heard from anyone at the company.
Description of Work: I called on Monday morning 6/22/15 to schedule a clean up after my basement flooded and a hot water tank check as mine would not re-light. I was informed that there would be two different people coming out and they would be able to come out to my home sometime after 10a on Tuesday 6/23/15.

Very responsive. They had someone at our house within two hours of our call. And they were reasonable. They also are available 24/7 for emergency service billed at an after hours rate.

Perfect! Both technicians were nice, in a good mood - Even the Plumber who had to come out at Saturday at Midnight - Professional & Courteous. They were both intelligent, knowledgeable and friendly. The work was done right! The guys were awesome! I felt great having them in my house to help me with my plumbing issues. They are the best of the best!

I contacted the Waterworks through Angie's List Messages and asked for them to call and schedule an appointment. This was on May 28. I've still not heard from them on June 2nd. That is horrible.
