Both Marc and Charlotte were extremely professional right from our initial meeting in our home. They were very detailed in their explanations and analysis of pricing of the home. Once we contracted their service, they and had a professional stager walk through our home with suggestions and had an excellent professional photographer and videographer take pictures, etc. They design a professional floor map of the house which encompassed images and video of the property for the web. We received a very good offer very early on and feel that their marketing and staging attributed to a quicker sale. Unfortunately, the buyers were quite difficult and both Marc and Charlotte had to exercise excellent negotiation skills to keep the purchase moving forward and they did just that. We successfully closed on the home last month and we are confident that without the Van Steyn group representing our best interests, we may still have the house on the market. They did an excellent job, are very available, highly professional and personable.

The Van Steyn group was excellent to work with through both the sale of my existing home and the purchase of a new one. They provided a resource to help "stage" my house before it went on the market. The pictures created for the marketing materials were wonderful. Charlotte was my primary realtor and caught several items in my contract that I had overlooked. She was very quick to return phone calls. She keep me informed of what was going on and when she wasn't available Marc stepped in to help me with whatever was needed. I would recommend the Van Steyn group to anyone that is looking for quality service.

Marc and his team put together an extensive market analysis in order to properly price our home. He also assembled advertising information and made our home visible in multiple markets, not just in Ohio, but in other states, where ultimately we found the perfect buyer.

They viewed our home and went back to the office and compiled a booklet that included all comparables and terms of agreement. Everything was clear. Together we set the asking price. They sent over a stager to give tips on selling the house. The photographer was prompt and took great pics of our house that were later on included in brochures and an online You Tube video complete with music. From the moment the sign went up in the yard, the selling of our house went like clockwork with constant and clear communication between us and Mark. His staff was excellent! My husband and I feel blessed to have our house sell so quickly and contribute the success to the Van Steyn group.

We started out just talking about our vision for the perfect home....second floor laundry...spare bedroom for in-laws....connected family room and kitchen....you know, the typical features and benefits of a personal residence. We worked mostly with Marc Van Steyn. Marc was terrific. He helped us to find the perfect home in a really terrific neighborhood. Part of that process was talking us OUT of homes that he knew would not be right. I really appreciated his perspective!

Overall, this was a very exciting experience. The Stager's visit was quite an experience. While we had prepared our own list of things we needed to do, hers was even larger. She went room by room with us, noting in a book what should be cleaned, painted, repaired or replaced, where furniture should be located, etc. There were times her comments felt cruel, but in the final outcome she was always right. We signed the listing agreement including the sale price in early July. The sale price was pretty easy to establish because a similar house on our street had finally closed and showed up in the comps provided by the Van Steyns. We agreed to list it for the last listing price of the other house. After 2 months we had the house ready , their photographer had taken pictures and Mark had taken room measurement for our own website; it went into MLS on Wednesday September 5, 2012. By Friday September 7 we had 2 offers. We met with the Van Steyns on Saturday and successfully negotiated a contract that was $5000.00 above the list price! One potential hiccup was that the buyer still needed to close on their house before closing on buying ours. The Van Steyn's, with the ok from the buyer, double checked with their bank, Realtor and closing company to be as certain as possible that the closing would take place. It did! We closed the sale of our house at the end of October as planned. Since we did not expect such a quick sale, we asked the buyer to give us some extra time after they sold their house to pack and move everything. Like I said...very exciting. I give lots of credit to my daughter, friends and neighbors who helped my wife and I through a very busy 4 months. The credit for the complete, professional and seamless guidance though, goes to the Van Steyn's.

When it came time for my husband and I to buy a house here in Columbus, we were nervous but excited. We found Mark through a referral and took a chance. Turns out it was the BEST decision. Mark is knowledgeable about everything house related, very patient with the process of finding what you want, punctual, and an incredibly nice person. Early on I knew he had our best interest in mind and I could trust his guidance and opinion. A few weeks into our search he emailed me a listing that he thought might work. At first I wasn't wild about the photos, but knew he might be onto something. Turns out it was the one for us! I'm so glad he advised we at least look. He really paid attention to what we liked and disliked, which helped him see this could be the right fit. He really went to bat for us when it came time for negotiating and we ended up with the perfect price. If you want someone who will help you find the right house, he's your guy!
