Everything went smooth from beginning to end. We would typically get a few estimates on a job this size but we went with Rosati based not only on their reputation and rating on Angie's List, but also because they were a local company. We were not disappointed. Our salesman, Steve Love, showed up on time for our appointments and was friendly and helpful. There was no pressure. The windows we ordered windows were ready ahead of schedule which was a nice surprise. The installers showed up on time and were friendly and professional. They were able to complete the job in one day and everything was cleaned up and hauled away when they left. We are delighted with our new windows. The custom exterior color on the outside matches our house and wood trim perfectly. The wood laminate color on the inside is a perfect blend with the wood frame around the windows.
I contacted several handyman companies, some responded others did not. The representatives of this crew not only responded but made the suggestion that vinyl be used in the trim of the doors to prevent future damage. The had two sets of craftsmen, one did the caulking and other the carpentry. All the tasks were done to my satisfaction. There was, however, one glitch. There was a sliding door on a second floor deck that they missed. After discovering this, I called them and they promptly came and re-caulked this site and no cost and with an apology.
Description of Work: There were two major jobs. The first was to re-caulk all the windows and doors. The second was to replace the trim around two garage doors that had been damaged by woodchucks. The also replaced a valance on a newly installed shower door frame.

Very smooth! They were ready to install within 1 week of the final measure which was great! They showed up to install exactly at 9am on first day like they said they would. Sean was very friendly and precise. They never touched the trim on the inside of the window (except for the windows we lowered the sills on) which was great since it's really old/thick trim! Worked late both days, but got the job done in 2 days as predicted. They look amazing and the trim on the outside is so much cleaner and more efficient!
Description of Work: We had 14 windows replaced in 1923 home including lowering two sills to make a larger window. They also removed 1 large picture window and replaced with 3 double hung. Rosati took out 2 smaller windows and replaced with 1 double hung.

2 guys came in the evenings and were only able to do the work with the use of our worklights. definitely unprepared. we had to call their supervisor as their work was not satisfactory. uneven board cuts and caulking. the supervisor remarked that they did not use the right type of saw for the job. only 1 of the 2 fellows seemed knowledgeable. the process between 2-4 weeks. some of the time delay was d/t weather, but now all. we did not know when they would be arriving or a firm date as to when it would be completed. but we did not ask for that either, shame on us. the last trip they forgot to stain the 2 boards on the garage, so my husband did that rather than call them out again. who knows when that would have been!

Well after meeting Mr. Steve Butler it went great. When I made my appt. I was surprised that my whole family didn't have to be present. Mr. Butler came in, measured and then gave me a written quote with each window description. My wife and I went to their showroom so she could see the window, very nice and once again hassle free. My windows took about 2 weeks they were installed on 3/17/09. Once again a very pleasant process the installers were on time worked hard and were very professional. Thank you for a job well done. I did my homework also, I sat through the three and four hour sales pitches by competitors.

From the initial sales estimate (who creatively recommended the window we bought as opposed to what we initially though we wanted), to the installation, to the follow-up trim work, the Rosati folks were a joy to have in our house.
Description of Work: Rosati Windows people installed a new window in a blank living room wall where no window previously existed ... and balanced the look with an existing window on the same wall. Further, they placed the new window within 4-inches of the main electrical service on the outside of the house with no complications.

After I called them and told them I needed an electrician, they sent out an estimator. I should have said "bub-bye" right then, but his estimate of $175 was less then the $200 that I had from another company so I said to go ahead with it. The estimator said I would be called on Monday, 12-29-08, with a firm appointment time for the electrician. I said OK but the work would need to be done after 12 noon when I am home from work. On Monday the 29th an electrician came, unannounced, to our house at 11:30AM to do the work. Lucky for him my wife happen to be home to let him in. He stated that he would have to go get the parts to do the repair because his work order did not list any parts for him to bring to do the job. My wife and I had a previous appointment set up for 12:30 so we left with the understanding that he would complete the outside work and we would throw the breaker inside the house to make sure that the repair was done properly. I then called the Fix-it Crew office and gave them my credit card number for the charges. As we were leaving, the electrician told us that the estimate was high, and that he figured the job the be $169.00. When my wife and I returned at 2:00PM, the electrician was just finishing up and asked us to throw the breaker to make sure the job was done right. We did and it was. He then wrote the total of $235.96 on the written estimate that he had brought with him and gave it to us. I asked him why the final bill was so much higher that the previous estimate we had been given and he said that the total bill included the parts he had used but the estimate was for labor only. He was right, the written estimate which I had not seen until the job was complete did say that it was for labor only. I had never received an estimate before for labor only on any job that would obviously need parts to complete. That is why I am not ever going to use the Fix-it Crew again. Additionally they did not give me the 5% discount which they advertise on page A40 of the December 2008 Angies list magazine.

HE HAD CALLED IN TO OUR OFFICE IN MID DECEMBER STATING HE HAD ABOUT 4 FEET OF WIRING TO AN OUTDOOR LAMP POST THAT NEEDED REPLACED BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN CHEWED ON BY SQUIRRELS. THE PERSON THAT SPOKE TO HIM ON THE PHONE STATED WE HAD A $175.00 MINIMUM CHARGE WHICH INCLUDED 2 HOURS OF LABOR, MATERIALS WOULD BE ADDITIONAL. THIS IS STANDARD PROCEDURE FOR A JOB THAT WAS PRICED OVER THE PHONE. I DID DECIDE TO LOOK AT THE JOB AND MET HIM ON SITE. I COULD SEE THAT MORE THAN 4 FEET WOULD NEED REPLACED BECAUSE OF THE DAMAGE BY THE SQUIRRELS. IN FACT, WE REPLACED AROUND 12 FEET OF UNDERGROUND RATED WIRING TO THE LAMP POST. I, AGAIN, WENT OVER THE PRICING STRUCTURE WITH HIM AND TOLD HIM WE WOULD BE AROUND $200 FOR THE ENTIRE JOB. WITH THE WIRING, THE SPLICE KITS AND THE LABOR, THE TOTAL CAME TO $235.46. I SPOKE TO HIM ON DECEMBER 24TH AND WE AGREED TO HAVE MY ELECTRICIAN OUT ON DECEMBER 29TH AT 9AM. I AM NOT AWARE THAT THE JOB STARTED LATER THAN THAT OTHER THAN THE REPORT LISTED HERE. I HAVE NEVER HEARD FROM HIMTO STATE ANY DISSATISFACTION OF THE JOB UNTIL I READ HIS STATEMENT ON ANGIE'S LIST 2 MONTHS AFTER THE FACT. AT THE COMPLETION OF THE JOB WE WERE UNDER THE IMPRESSION HE WAS HAPPY. MOST JOBS WE DO ARE QUOTED BEFORE THE JOB STARTS. ON CERTAIN JOBS WE PRICE IT BY THE HOUR BECAUSE WE HAVE TO TROUBLESHOOT THE PROBLEM, BEFORE WE CAN DO THE REPAIRS, BUT TRY TO GIVE THE CUSTOMER AN APPROXIMATION OF THE TOTAL COST. IN HIS CASE WE WERE WITHIN $36.00 OF MY APPROXIMATION.

The initial scheduling for a sales call was easy and quick. The salesman came to my house and seemed honest and told me I had only one window to choose from due to requirements of our neighborhood for wood windows. He assured me that the new windows would look great and perform well. I was worried about the mess and he told me it would all be cleaned up at the end of the day and also gave me his cell number to call him anytime with questions. I asked that the windows be primed before they were installed since they were bare wood and asked for an estimate to have them painted prior to installation. After he left with a 50% deposit, things went down-hill. After making several calls to my salesman with no return of my calls, I found out he quit the company and had a difficult time getting any information regarding my windows from anyone. I was now told that my windows would not be primed before installation and the estimate my salesman gave me to paint my windows was too low. When my windows arrived, they installed them unprimed despite several calls to Rosati asking for them to be primed first. The installers even said that it was incorrect to install the windows unprimed. When I came home that day, it appeared that a child had installed my windows. The trim work looked terrible and was in no way up to basic standards. On each window was a sticker from the original manufacture that stated very clearly that if the windows were not primed within 48 hours of receipt, the warranty would be void. Rosati's painter could not make it out during that time so I was frustrated to lose my warranty. The inside of my home was also covered in sawdust and dirt from the installation, that I had to then clean up. I called their installation manager to come out to inspect the job and he seemed to think there was nothing wrong with the poor installation of my windows. After much discussion, he agreed to tear off all the outside trim and have it replaced, which they did. This brought up a new problem, for when the windows were installed, some damaged occurred to my wood siding and after the trim was removed and re-installed more damage occurred and the trim was still no where near the quality of the original windows. When their painter came to paint, the estimate I received for painting the inside and outside of the windows was too low, and we settled on having them prime and paint only the outside. After many phone calls and two letters, Mr Rosati came out and personally inspected the job, He apologized and we settled on a cost deduction of about 10%. Though he was very apologetic, I now have great windows, that are poorly installed, a warranty through Roasti for the windows, and damage to my home's siding which will cost me as much as the windows to repair. And the worse part, each time a Rosati rep came to my home (installers, managers, and warranty guy) they each asked (one demanded) for full payment despite all the problems and before they offered a solution.
Description of Work: We live in a historic district of Columbus and needed the wood trim windows replaced in our home. SInce we had to use wood windows, our choices were limited. We looked at 3 vendors and chose Rosati after reading reviews here, seeing all their commercials, and wanting to use a local company. Rosati removed and replaced 15 wood windows and the wood trim inside and out. They also primed and painted the outside of the windows.

I WILL BE THE FIRST TO SAY THERE WERE MISTAKES MADE. I THINK THAT WE ARE KNOWN FOR OUR FOCUS ON SERVICE AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND I BELIEVE WE DID EVERYTHING OUR CUSTOMER ASKED OF US. BECAUSE OF THE HISTORIC LOCATION, THE WINDOWS REQUIRED WERE NEW CONSTRUCTION VS. REPLACEMENT. THERE IS NO QUESTION DIRT AND DUST ARE MORE PREVALENT IN THIS TYPE OF INSTALL. EVERYONE, INCLUDING MYSELF AND THE INSTALLERS WERE UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THE HOUSE WAS TO BE SIDED VERY SOON AFTER THE WINDOWS WERE COMPLETED. THIS INFORMATION CAME FROM THE CUSTOMER'S OWN ON-SITE CONTRACTOR. I AGREE THEIR TRIM AND CAULK WERE NOT UP TO MY STANDARDS. WE HAD NEW TRIM CUSTOM MILLED, REPLACED THE EXTERIOR TRIM, PAINTED, AND RECAULKED ALL WINDOWS IN QUESTION. I OFFERED TO REPLACE WOOD TRIM WHERE THE OLD SILL ORIGINALLY SAT AT NO COST. TO REPLACE TRIM PIECES IN QUESTION AMOUNTED TO SOMEWHERE AROUND $800.00. THIS WAS NOT DAMAGE DONE. THIS IS WHAT WAS LEFT FROM HAVING TO REMOVE THE ENTIRE WINDOW FRAME PER GERMAN VILLAGE. THESE REPAIRS CAME NOWHERE NEAR WHAT IT COST FOR THE WINDOWS. OUR CUSTOMER WANTED MONEY INSTEAD. I GAVE HIM A $1,900.00 DISCOUNT. I OFFERED TO SIDE HIS HOUSE AT OUR COST. THE UNFAIRNESS OF IT ALL IS THAT CUSTOMER HAS EVERY INTENTION TO SIDE HIS HOUSE. THE WINDOWS ARE INSTALLED PROPERLY AND FULLY BACKED BY ROSATI WINDOWS. I ALSO AM SOMEWHAT AMAZED AT THE PHOTOS. SOME WHERE IN THE EARLY STAGES OF INSTALLATION AND THE REST WERE PRIOR TO OUR REPAIRS. I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY OUR CUSTOMER HAS CHOSEN TO TARNISH MY NAME AND REPUTATION. WE HAVE DONE EVERYTHING HE HAS ASKED AND MORE. I WILL ALWAYS DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES. I AM NOT PERFECT, BUT I AM HONEST AND FAIR. MIKE ROSATI

We called several companies for window replacement and of the companies we spoke with, their prices were in the middle. The information they provided was thorough. They did not use high pressure sales and went through all of the information that we wanted. We took a week to make our decision. They did not hound us. The rep sent only one e-mail. We called them to tell them we were interested in purchasing our windows from them. He came out within in a couple days with the paperwork ready. No hassles. They called to schedule measurements within three days. The gentleman who came out was punctual and polite. Windows were installed sooner than the estimation given by the rep, which was wonderful. The two gentleman who installed the windows were friendly and efficient. We had a small dimple in the glass on our sliding door. They notated it and resolved the issue quickly and without hassle. It was a wonderful experience all around. I would recommend them to anybody needing replacement windows.

They used Dave who had done some work before. He was very professional, knowledgeable and punctual. Replaced and repaired everything asked and kept me informed on what he was doing. I had used The Fix It Crew before to paint kitchen cabinets and two baths, and replace grout in both baths. Keith did an excellent job with the painting and the man who replaced the grout (can't remember his name) also did an excellent job. However they did use one sub-contractor/handy man who created a plumbing problem in one of the baths. Dave had to come out and fix the plumbing problems created by the handy man. But, The Fix It Crew willingly took care of the problem.

They did a great job. They took the windows out of the garage & took the window part to the factory & built new frames for them. They then brought them back & installed them. They then came back & painted them after the caulking had dried. All together they were here about 2 or 3 times. I thought they did a fine job & were really good. They fixed the problems & it looks nice. They did a very nice job painting & you cannot even tell where the wood was rotting after they fixed it. I would use them again in the future.
