Don't remember all the details other than I was happy with the service.

I have been a loyal Favret customer since 2003. I set up a service contract with them each year that has them come out and look at my furnace in the fall and AC in the spring. With the service contract, you also get priority scheduling, an emergency service call and 10% off all parts. Well, we recently woke up without our furnace working?.it was the winter and it was COLD! I called them up, explained my issue and they got me on the schedule and came and replaced my inducer motor. Favret is a locally owned company that has been around since the 1920s. That is pretty darn impressive if you ask me. I know they do residential and commercial installation and repairs and to me are one of the best companies in central Ohio. All their technicians are friendly and highly-experienced and their front office staff (everyone from scheduling, parts, as well as billing) is an absolute pleasure to speak to and work with.

I spent three weeks trying to get my home warranty company and two HVAC companies to do these repairs. No one wanted to touch this project. The hot water tank was back venting into the house and products of combustion could be smelled upstairs. In frustration, I called Favret even though it wasn't a Carrier furnace. They diagnosed the problem within hours and fixed it the next day. I used Favret for 16 years in my former home and was an idiot for not calling them first. They repair all brands. And they have always done a spectacularly good job for me.

I believe Favret Heating and Cooling overcharged me for a recent furnace inspection appointment and I am quite disappointed. Thank goodness my wife was keeping an eye on the clock. The service technician arrived in front of our house at exactly 11:23a and entered our house at 11:30a. This was just a normal furnace "checkup", which I hadn't had done in a few years. The service technician was finished with his work before 12:15p, went outside to get the paperwork, and at 12:20p, was back in my house explaining how I was paying an additional $45 for the full hour. He explained to me that I was being charged for the time spent writing up the paperwork. That?s at a rate of $45 per 15 minute increments ($180 per hour) for paperwork. Amazing! When I complained to the service technician that I shouldn't have to pay for him to slowly saunter out to his truck and back, and him writing up the paperwork, he just shrugged and said it wasn't his decision - those are the rules. He did try to suggest that if we simply signed up for the annual maintenance service from them for $265, that it would cover both the furnace and the air conditioner. I interpreted all of this as a shady way to simply encourage us to buy the maintenance plan. Needless to say, we refused. After great service from Favret in 2013, I sent them a nice letter of thanks and commendation. After this very poor service from Favret, I sent them a letter the very same day of the service. It's been 45 days since, and not even mere acknowledgement from someone at Favret. I fully understand that a company is entitled to fair compensation for their employees and their labor. But I thought that this was dishonest. And it is exactly this dishonest practice which quickly dissuaded me from even considering the annual plan from Favret, or any future service from Favret.

We have both a boiler and a furnace, Normally we use Favret for our boiler and another company, ( who installed the forced hot air furnace when we did an addition) for the furnace. I am wondering if Favret has changed hands or changed pricing because last year they charged only $121.50 to service the boiler and they were here 50 minutes. The other company charged $99 to service the furnace. This year the bill came to $415 for two hours - however a good part of the second hour was taken up with the workman trying unsuccessfully to replace a solenoid valve in the humidifier, He could not get it to work and kept going back and forth between the valve that adjusts the water pressure and a switch on the boiler . It seemed like a colossal waste of time and I thought that since the humidifier had evidently not been working before we could do without it . There was no sign that the service man was making any progress with it but I knew the bill was adding up. He removed the valve . Talked to someone named John to voice my complaint and asked for a refund on the time lost trying to replace a valve they could not make work. I was put off. He said he would have to "look at the ticket" on Thursday. (We talked on a Tuesday.) I asked what their rates are: Answer - $145 first half hour, and $45 each quarter hour after. This seems excessive compared to their own rates last year and the comparative rates of the other company that usually services the furnace. Also service man did not have the proper filter for the furnace and did not even check the filter for the return We probably will not use this company again. The usual service man who seemed more competent is no longer with the company anyway.

The installation crew was on time, courteous and professional. A service tech was sent about an hour after the installation to check everything and start up the furnace. ( I appreciate having a second set of eyes to assess the installation and test the functioning of the furnace.) I should mention that I was not talked into a new furnace. I've known for years that my previous choice of furnace was a mistake but it had always performed well so I was in no hurry to replace it. I've dealt with Favret in the past for routine maintenance of my furnace and AC and would like to acknowledge that their tech, Larry S. is the most professional and thorough tech I've ever had for such maintenance. We've known for years that there was a component in my old furnace that, though functioning fine, was becoming very noisy. Larry never insisted on replacement but we were becoming uncomfortable with the noise. Considering the age of the old furnace and the replacement cost of the noisy component I asked Larry to get us prices on a proper new furnace. He contacted the office and gave us a full range of options. We made our choice and are happy with it so far.

Everything was on time and very professional.

Favret was very responsive. I called on Labor Day to get on list for Tuesday. We have a contract. Sent out Jake,a technician by 9 AM. He identified the problem quickly and replaced the capacitor. He remained to check that the unit would start cooling the house, and checked out the furnace while he was here, changing the filter. He was very knowledgeable and explained things in layman terms! We did have a minor problem with Favret in the fall, but they have redeemed themselves in this issue. Great experience!

We recently purchased a new home. We called Favret to come check the upstairs furnace and to change its filter and possibly move the up stairs thermostat (it is in a guest bedroom). The technician arrived at the prescribed time. He checked the furnace. It is located in the attic and difficult to reach. He then asks my wife who has an infant daughter at home to go buy an air filter. He is insistent. She takes 30 minutes to drive to Home Depot buy the filter and come back. He installs the new filter. He states that moving the thermostat would cost "thousands and thousands of dollars". This is a direct quote. He then proceeds to try to sell us other products and services we are not asking for. And completely does not address the issue of moving the thermostat. In the end he charges us for 75 minutes of work. 30 minutes of which was my wife driving to buy an air filter. For all of this they charge $235. In the end we have a new air filter installed, a thermostat still in an unusual location and a bill for over $200. When I called the office to complain the response is indifferent at best. Definitely will never use this company again.

I woke up this morning to a rather warm home. Things didn't improve when I went downstairs and checked the thermostat--it was set on 73 and read 78 degrees. The furnace fan was running but the outside unit was not. I called Favret because we are on an annual contract. I was told someone would be here between 10 and 2 so I opened windows and set up fans. The tech arrived shortly after 10 and found a burned out "rim capacitor" which he replaced with a recycled one he had in the van. While we waited for delivery of a new capacitor, he conducted our fall check-up which saved them another trip out and me another day of scheduling an appointment. I am so glad we have an annual contract!

They were very punctual and courteous. Got right to the job, disassembling the old boiler and replacing it with the new one. The basement was cleaner when they were done than when they began! Because it is still hot outside, didn't really get to test it for heat production, but I'm sure it will be great when the snow begins to fall.

Once again Favret to the rescue....I noticed water leaking out from the inside coils, over the furnace unit, and thought also that the A/C was not performing as it used to, not cooling as well. (We have been Maintenance-Agreement customers for years--and we highly recommend that arrangement.) I called Favret in the morning--that same afternoon the technician arrived and determined that the problem had to do with the fact that the coolant, Puron, was down by nearly a third. Dave, the technician, was excellent--observant, attentive to every aspect; the filter needed to be changed, and above all, coolant added to the outside unit. The result was palpable within a half-hour--improved performance, cooler air--less running of the A/C--which saves electricity.

Everything went without any problems. The lady on the phone was very helpful, answered my questions and told me they could have someone come out within the next 5 days (we set a day/time). They gave me a time window. She also mentioned that there were coupons available. The day of the service appointment, they called 20 minutes before the technician arrived. The technician was on time and professional. He explained what he was doing. This is our third time using Favret. I would/will use them again in the future.

The process was very easy and everything went as planned. The estimator was prompt, very knowledgeable and particularly helpful explaining the equipment and helping me get set up for both the Columbia Gas and AEP rebates available on the equipment I purchased. I was told up front that the installation would take about 1.5 days so there would be no surprises. The installer arrived on time and worked methodically to remove the old equipment. The new equipment was delivered by one person who then took the old equipment away. I would suggest that Favret send two people to deliver the new equipment as one delivery person was not sufficient (even with help from the installer) to get the equipment easily into the basement. Later another installer joined the primary installer and they work together seamlessly to get everything set in place. It was raining but they worked onward with a good attitude until quitting time. As planned the primary installer returned the next morning to finish the job. Next a service technician arrived to fire up the equipment and test everything including the new thermostat. A week later a Favret technician came to conduct a spillage test and then a city inspector came to look over the job as required by the permit. He complimented the job done by the Favret installers and technicians. The equipment is running fine. I am very pleased with the entire process and with the service I received from Favret Heating and Cooling.

We were very pleased. There service is always excellent. We have used them for 20 years.

I have an annual service, and they come out twice a year. The heating and cooling has been running very good. The last time two people came out so the appointment was much shorter.

Favret Heating and Cooling is the BEST. We switched from Atlas Butler to Favret several years ago and have been totally happy ever since. Honestly, it has been like going from the darkness into the light. Favret gets an A in every category: Whomever answers the phone is friendly and helpful. The technicians are on time, courteous, and efficient. They always explain and make helpful suggestions. The technicians NEVER hard sell products as was ALWAYS the case with Atlas Butler. We used Atlas Butler (recommended by our contractor) for several years and were consistently riled by the relentless attempts to urge us to buy this product or upgrade to that product... and during that time, we had problem after problem with our new HVAC. We are completely happy with Favret.

It was easy to make an appointment and they arrived on schedule. Two technicians checked my filter installation and the whole heating and cooling system and sprayed off the air conditioner. I thought they were very friendly and efficient and knowledgeable and the cost was less than I had anticipated. I was happy to have the company that installed the system check it and then find no problems with it.

They provide great service. They come when they say they are coming. I never had any problems with them. The people that they send out and the people on the phone are all good. We like everything about them. They are a local company.

It was very good. We've had various things done and it was a reasonable cost. They did a regular maintenance and an installation of a new furnace. What stood out is heir excellent customer service and promptness.

The service technician who installed the furnace came the day prior to the scheduled installation and installed the new gas pipe from the meter to the approximate area where the new furnace would be installed. The next day he removed the oil furnace and installed the new gas furnace, relocating the existing humidifier and Air Bear furnace filter to a more efficient position in the system, He then replaced the thermostat with a new thermostat which enabled the system to be able to operate with the existing electric heat pump and air conditioner. He had a single helper on the first day and two helpers on the second. He completed the removal and new installation in about 5 hours, so we were not too long without heat, All went smoothly and the heat has been comfortable, I would recommend Favret to anyone considering a new Hi-efficiency system. I had reviewed approximately six providers on Angie's List and had received 5 bids on the work I needed. Favret had the best price to begin with for the Carrier Hi-efficiency furnace that I wanted.

Bill was prompt and professional. My furnace is working just fine now.

Their maintenance people were good. They got things done in a sequence and it worked out good. They got the job done and taken care of.

My furnace wasn't working well on the coldest day and night of the year (minus zero temperatures). I have a service contract with Favret, and I called to schedule an appointment, which they were able to do the same day. The technician, who I have worked with before (Bill), is a model of professional expertise and courtesy. I'm sure he had a lot of customers that day, but he diagnosed the problem (a part had worn out), and did all he could to replace it the same day. He had to pick up the part, but assured me he would be back, and he kept me informed over the course of several hours. In the meantime, he was able to use a "temporary fix" to get my house warm. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Favret over the years. They treat their customers with respect, and if you have a service contract, they give you priority in scheduling appointments. On a day when I was thinking I would have to leave my home for a hotel, Favret came through for me once again. Thanks Bill!
