Worst Dealership & GM Ever! David Johnson as General Manager needs fired. Out of a total of 10 emails, 1 of which was just the generic follow up after buying which I brought issues up in my follow up email, David replied back 3 times! 2 of the times was to tell me he was going to “investigate” my issues and never got back to me. The other was to tell me my car was finally ready after I believe the 4th time in the shop, after they finally had it towed to another shop to be fixed properly, and that my sister had been communicating with the service manager Tim, who was hands down extraordinarily too good to be working at this rip off of a car dealership. I work 7-7, 6 days a week so my mom and sister had to continually take the car back and forth for me. We had nothing but issues since the day we bought the car with Ralph Marcum lying to us about the interest rate 2 times while waiting over an hour for the finance manager (there’s always a wait no issue there), when he knew we were getting screwed because he lied both times asked and said “well even if it’s not a favorable rate you can refinance after 1 year.” You can refinance IMMEDIATELY. They didn’t even put gas in the car which was addressed with their joke of a manager David Johnson who cared less and didn’t even follow up from the thank you from purchasing email. I’m 19 with a credit score of I believe it was 767 at the time of purchase and after the long wait for finance I was exhausted after working and the wait and forgot to ask the 3rd time to the finance manager, 100% on me, but they gave me an interest rate of 16.98%! I was side tracked by all the service packages and talk about how they were already closed as they close at 6pm regardless of the day of the week, so was rushing through paperwork. I take full responsibility of the interest rate and signing those papers. I started the refinance the very next day with Kemba vs Huntington and my new interest rate is 8.49%, still not the greatest but with inflation they more than cut my interest rate in half from these low life greedy people. When I contacted Kemba to refinance it they asked me if Byers told me Kemba was a preferred finance partner with them. I laughed and said of course they didn’t because then they wouldn’t have made as much money off the interest rate! Within the first 2 weeks we started having issues with the car. Was in the shop 4x I believe. Ended up me paying 2x to have it towed and once they paid to have it towed to another dealership to actually be fixed once I got it to them of course. I was only offered a rental car 1 time in the I believe 4 times it was in the shop! The only time I was ever offered one of course I took it as I was rotating cars with my family and someone was going without every time it was in the shop. Tim in the shop is the ONLY reason they even deserve 1 star. He was amazing. David Johnson the General Manager could give a crap (putting it nicely) less about ANY customer or how they get screwed over! The 3 times prior to it getting fixed by another shop, which btw was because of a lose hose, I emailed David every single time because I would pick it up right before closing or send over my mom & sister depending on if I could get off work early enough to make it there by 6pm, but it would have issues that same night on the way home or the very next morning and have to go immediately back to the shop the next day after picking it up. The last time it was taken there when they towed it someplace else to actually be fixed I was late for work again no response from David, but Tim actually cared and said he’d address it to David which my mom said she laughed and said David doesn’t give a crap (not the word she used!). I lost my spiff at work of a little over $4 an hour for the entire work week because stupid me thought of I’ll actually try to drive my car to work after getting it out of the shop for the 3rd time in a week and a half or so thinking I wouldn’t have issues. RUN!

My car is under warranty, there was no cost. They were good. My experience has been very positive there. They're very professional. They're easy to work with, pretty easy to schedule things. I've used them a couple of years I guess.

There was no cost. There is nothing they need to improve on. It was known that it was going to take 24 hours to do the work. Their communication was very good. It is easy to schedule and honest, straight forward pricing and resolution.

I previously wrote a bad review of Byers, as I believe they misdiagnosed the problem. However, after contacting the Better Business Bureau, the manager contacted me and reached an amicable resolution and what I believed to be a very fair price, and also fixed a small dent at no charge.

I dropped my car off as there were two days when it would not start. They were very helpful walking me through all the checks and the cost involved. It took them a day to diagnose and ultimately did not see anything out of place. It had been very cold the last few days, but knowing my battery and starter were all in good shape I was reassured there were no issues.

It's was $80. We bought our cars from them 10 years or more.Our cars are [5:32] we have 2 of them we import. Byers uses the authorize parts for repairs and replace them. They have a certain specials that they run sometimes and they guarantee the parts cause they are authentic. They have pretty good warranty. They have convenient hours and they have shuttle service. At times they actually let us have a loaner car for a number of days when they are working on the cars. It's probably about time to go again. To have a 50 miles check up. It's a periodic thing. They get back up so I can't always have a car in when I would most prefer it.
Description of Work: Byers Import. They do our service. It involve a oil change and checking hoses, fluids and putting in a new air filter. That was routine.

I dropped an important component while trying to replace the bulbs in my headlights. They had to take apart the whole front of my VW to fix that. They did for a fair price and did it very quickly.

Being a woman, I always cringe when I go to a dealership without my husband. Well, no problem here..... I was treated with respect and was thoroughly briefed on what was to occur with my car. Jeff was fantastic. My car was serviced while I waited in a nice lounge. The service department checked on me to make sure I was comfy. Really nice! Previously, we also purchased an auto from Byers Imports.... same great treatment. What a pleasure to spend hard-earned money with a company that cares! These gentlemen are honest, friendly, courteous, and timely.

The first time I took my Subaru to Byer’s Imports in Whitehall for service, they forgot to bolt down the airbox. I noticed the problem before I took the car home, and had them fix it. The next time I took my Subaru to Byer’s Imports in Whitehall for service, they broke the rearview mirror, and the AC didn’t work (I can’t say for absolute certain that the AC was their fault, but the timing is just too much to be coincidental). When my Subaru’s radiator broke, I took my Subaru to Byer’s Imports in Whitehall for repair. They installed the main and overflow hoses incorrectly such that the main hose ruptured against the fan while I was on the highway. I was stranded and had to pay for the tow, and the follow up repairs. When I took my Subaru to Byer’s Imports in Whitehall to fix the CEL for an evap fuel system leak, they scratched the paint near the fuel door down to bare metal, and didn’t tell me. I found the scratch before I took the car home. They said they’d fix the paint, and when they did they merely applied touch-up paint with a toothpick. To make matters worse, the CEL was back on not twenty four hours after I took the car home. Just last week my AC failed again, and I took my Subaru to Byer’s Imports in Whitehall to fix the AC, fix the CEL and evap fuel system leak, and change the oil. Just a few days after I took the car home, the AC failed again, and the CEL is back.

They are very competent. They are very good at their service. Every time you call them to make an appointment or anything, you always have to leave your phone number. They do not answer the phone.

I love him. I go to Jeff Zimmerman. They are very product and service oriented. Every time I go in they have scheduled maintenance and what not. They send out 3 different surveys and it's important for people to do those. I always do it because they are always great. Jeff had another guy come and explain the warranty to me and I now understand it. I bought a prepaid maintenance plan. The next service will be my 45000 and that one needs to be paid. I go to Audi, but their Porsche area is also excellent. These are the 2 areas that I know about. Byers sell all other marks, but these are the only 2 that I have personal experiences with. I didn't buy the car there. I can call him on the phone and ask him a question too. He's really good about answering my question and telling me not to be such a worrywart. I would continue to use him in the future.

When the estimate came in at a VERY high price and we declined some repairs they then called us back to say that they had made a math error and the price came down $400 or so. When the car was repaired several charges showed up for service that was not done. When questioned we were told that they charge based on the estimate! Not the work. WHAT!

Needed four new tires and wanted the same brand, etc that was already on the car. Byers ordered them and we set up an appointment for a Wednesday morning. After waiting for 1.5 hours, a representative informed me that the tires I wanted were no longer being made and that the tires in stock were not the best option for my car. When asked why they didn't call me about this (I live an hour away), he said they hadn't noticed until the car was being worked on. After explaining my options in detail, I agreed to a different set of tires. They also needed to be ordered. The second appointment was set up at my convenience. On my second trip to Byers the proper tires were installed, in less time than they had estimated. The new tires are working fine. I spite of the initial issues, the customer service at Byers was always very good. They even called a few days later to make sure I was satisfied with the tires and that all issues had been resolved.
Description of Work: Ordered four new tires and had them installed.

When I picked up the car, they had fixed the seat problem and left four brake light bulbs in the cup holder. They added $29.00 to the bill for them. When I attempted to replace the back up bulb with one of the replacements from the cup holder it did not fit because it was actually a brake light bulb. They had actually replaced all four brake light bulbs and left the old ones in the car. I had not written on the order for them to replace the brake light bulbs.I returned to the dealer and attempted to exchange the 4 brake light bulbs for a back up light bulb that I still needed. They would not let me return the bulbs. They were accusatory about me returning my used parts, and would not listen to my explanation. I later got Ron in service to agree to refund the money for the unneeded bulbs, but have not received the reimbursement yet.
Description of Work: I brought my Volvo in to repair a broken driver's seat cable. The seat would not go up and down. I noticed that the right backup light bulb was out and asked that they please just give me one bulb and I would install it.

The fact is, we have no manual for the NAV on this vehicle and we need it. We even called the manager who hasn't returned our calls. We've consistently called for a month. We don't demand an apology, we just want the NAV manual. We would like this to be mailed to us.
Description of Work: In late December, right after Christmas we purchased a Suburu Impreza. We drove it home and soon discovered we needed more information about the NAV (navigation system). We called Chris C. and said we didn't know how to use the NAV and asked him to get another manual for us. He acted very reluctant and after a few phone calls to him he said he would try to order a manual and he would call us back when it came in. He never called, so we called him. He said he ordered one and that it would be in on Friday, he didn't call, so we called him Saturday. He was very vague and mumbled a lot. He wouldn't just tell us what was going on. He claims that he gave my husband the manual the day my husband drove the car home.

In a word, dismal. Their sales staff was very nice. I enjoyed the buying experience. However, their service staff is rude, unhelpful, uncommunicative, disrespectful, and worst of all they don't fix the problems that are reported. We had both a Jaguar S Type and Audi TT purchased on the same day. Once the warranty ran out, I would never return to Byers for service. However, I am still being harassed with mailings to my house as we look to significantly reduce our paper usage and carbon footprint. I have explained this to them. I have written them repeatedly. I have called. I have e-mailed. Nothing works. Now I am forced to file reports with Angie's List so that others can avoid the terrible service we've received and the disrespect of not honoring a simple request. PS: we have replaced both cars and both dealerships with which we are dealing now had no trouble honoring our request. We have received no mailings and are far happier.
Description of Work: Short summary, I owned an Audi TT purchased from Byers Imports. Their customer services was a continual disappointment. To further disappoint, Byers refuses to remove my mail address from their mailing list. They continue to harass us even though we no longer own the car. This is just a small example of how they will never listen to even the smallest of requests.
