At Window Nation, we know replacement windows. We’re third-generation window replacement experts who have been lucky to provide homeowners replacement windows, siding, and doors for over fifteen years. We opened our first showroom in Maryland in 2006, quickly growing to serve homeowners in cities across the country – and we’re not stopping there. We’re grateful for every homeowner who has trusted us to upgrade their most important asset: their home. We’ve learned a lot about home improvement over the years, but the most important thing we learned isn’t about window replacement. We learned the home improvement industry isn’t about offering the best windows, siding and doors; it’s about the relationships we build with our customers.
I contacted Window Nation for an estimate in September. They came out promptly, and gave an estimate broken down room by room so that we could pick and choose based on our budget. The demonstration window was helpful to see the drastic difference between our current, crank windows versus getting new double hung windows. The estimate was fair in price, so we hired them to do the job and there were no major issues with the process of ordering, financing or installation. From order to installation took approximately two weeks. Both sales and installation staff were more than courteous, laid down materials to protect our carpet and cleaned up after themselves. To install six windows took the two installers about half of a day (4-5 hours)
Description of Work: Replaced crank-out windows with vinyl double hung windows in our three bedrooms.

Dawn, the sales person, was the most wonderful person. She had a great demonstration. The installers were polite and did exactly what they said they were going to do. The work went well and they cleaned everything up when they were done. We actually got the job done about a week earlier than anticipated. I'd highly recommend them. Ask for Dawn. She's great.

I would highly recommend Window Nation - and believe me, we did the research for you.My wife and I are very particular about our home and who we hire to do any work on our home - especially on the inside.Unlike a number of local window companies, our Window Nation salesperson, Dawn, offered to take her shoes off when she entered our home. She was knowledgeable and professional and listened to us, rather than just thinking about how to close us.We bought the windows the first time we met with her and in just a couple of weeks, installation was scheduled. We had a question and spoke with the General Manager, Chuck, who could not have been nicer or more helpful as he answered what I'm sure were questions that he gets asked all of the time. After installation, you would never know the installers ever stepped foot in our home. They were neat, clean, polite and professional. They worked as if they were doing the work on the White House. We immediately noticed that the house was cooler, even with the thermostat turned to a higher temperature. I assume we were losing a lot of cool air and paying for it.For the first time, we're looking forward to getting our energy bills because we know they'll be lower. It was also amazing that
Description of Work: We had a number of new energy efficient windows installed, including a large bay window and a huge picture window and a new sliding glass door.

*Update- We have had a few issues with the windows and they have only been in our house for a week and a half. We have a scratch in the window, areas on the bottom of 3 windows that are not cut correctly and are sharp, a crack in the frame around the glass, and a scratch in the frame around the glass. They are coming to fix it but it seems like it will take a few visits to resolve the problems. I am not sure how the windows will last in the future just after finding these problems in this short of a time. We thought the salesman was a little pushy and weren't impressed with how the prices were calculated and the overall cost. We had the install and the installation staff was excellent. We did however find some imperfections with the windows and a scratch in 1 glass. We immediately called the company and are sending a technician out in a few weeks. Their responsiveness was good but the fact that we have to have another person some out to fix NEW windows is frustrating. The person in the service department was great. There was no hassle to order a new window and send a technician. I was glad about that because we just bought them so they should be fixed...well actually you would think they would be perfect but at least they are coming to fix it. We love the sliding door with the blinds inside. We hope they last. Overall an OK experience. The service of the windows is yet to be seen but we are happy currently that they are willing to fix the issues.

It has made a tremendous difference in our electric bill especially because our house is all electric; it has had a huge impact on our house. They are extremely professional, polite, courteous and respectful. I can?t say enough good things about them. They are very reasonable, and their quality is excellent. Everything about them is excellent. They stay in touch with us throughout. Even after they put the windows in, they called us back to make sure that everything was okay. If we had a problem, they would come back out and address it immediately; they would come within 24 hours to fix it. When we set up appointments with them, they would call before heading out to inform us that they were on their way. They have never been late. I had another provider do some work for us; comparing the two providers, I would choose Window Nation because they are unbelievably good. We would rate them highly and would use them again in the future; in fact, they are going to be doing a patio door for us in a few weeks because we like them so much.

first saleman came out very polite took his time and explained all the options to me. He was by far the most knowledgeable of all the salespeople I had out. ( I had mulitple estimates some higher some lower). Second they measured the windows a few days later. Then on installation day. I have had alot of work done on my house through the years when they left I didnt even know they had been there, (being how well they cleaned up after the job was done) but the new windows my house is already alot warmer can not wait til see how much lower my heat bills are.( The salesperson even stopped out to the house on the day of install)

Had some replacement windows put in home I just moved into and what a wonderful job they did. From the estimate I got from their sales staff to the installers coming over to my house and installing the whole experience was top notch. Not only were they timely and friendly, but clean and knowledgeable as well. When I searched other companies Window Nations pricing seemed fair and once I had there staff over for an estimate I was convinced. Thank you Window Nation for doing such a wonderful job, I'll be referring you to friends and family for years to come.

Window Nation has a quality product - I will not dispute that. The windows are great. I was also impressed with the installation team, led by Stan. They were courteous, diligent, and neat. They made quick work of the install and did not leave a mess. The problem with Window Nation is the sales team. I was misled, misinformed, and was made to feel like I was a burden to the sales team. When the salesman (Tony) came to our house to provide us with a quote, I was misled and misinformed on five items. First, I was shown color swatches that I was told were the window colors available. When I visited the showroom after placing my order, I found out that the colors shown to me were the trim colors, not the window color. The alternate color was acceptable, but it was misinformation. Second, I was told I could purchase single casement windows for my openings. After the follow up measurement appointment, I was told that I could not have the single casement windows, but would have to go with something else, like a double slider. This reduced the cost of the project, but I was disappointed I could not get the type of window I had originally purchased. Third, the salesman performed a lead test and told me that I did not have lead in my home. I was later told he should not have performed the test, but at the follow up appointment, lead was found, increasing the cost of the project. Fourth, I was told that Window Nation employees would be installing the windows. The install team were employees of the window manufacturer (Softlite), not Window Nation. Finally, I was told that the entire cost of the project was eligible for the tax credit. I did my homework and later found that only the cost of the windows, not the labor, was eligible. After a delay due to the change order for the different window type, I had not heard anything about a revised installation date. When I contacted Window Nation, I was told "When we don?t have anything to tell you, there really isn?t a reason to get in touch with you." This was in an email from Chuck, the general manager. I was unimpressed with Chuck's service via email as well as in person. I had visited the retail showroom during the days after I signed my contract that I could cancel my order and Chuck made me feel very unwelcome and that I was wasting Window Nation's time by dropping by to check out the product further. I took a day off for the install and was called that morning by Window Nation, canceling the install because one of the installers drove his truck into the ditch. They did reschedule the installation for a Saturday (which I had originally requested), so I didn't have to take additional time off from work. The installation was smooth and the windows look very nice. I would buy Softlite windows again, but unless a lot changes at the Window Nation sales office, I would buy them from another Softlite retailer.

The Member was obviously disappointed in the way that communications were handled. Our representative made 2 errors in the home. He sold a window style that could not be made that large, and tested improperly for lead. He has been spoken to about these mistakes and they will be corrected. I have also contacted the Member about these and apologized. We are very committed to customer service and will look for ways to improve our communications with home owners. The Member is happy with the window quality and installation, and it seems as though the end result was more than satisfactory for the Member, which is our overriding concern.

They came out for an estimate and measure. The sales man was nice. The first price he gave me for five windows was $3555. When I didnt bite he said the new best price he could do was $2999 but this price was good today only. Thankfully I didnt make an impulsive decision because a week later I got a letter in the mail with an even lower price of $2555. My advice is to remember do not go with the impulsive purchase wait them out and dont fall for the sales gimmick.

Our main commitment is to customer service. We work hard to make sure that customers are very satisfied. In the Member case, I think that the communication from the representative was flawed. There are certain specials and discounts that are made available based on certain criteria. Every discount is made available to every customer. The representative will be retrained to communicate more efficiently with customers. Also, discounts are sporadically offered from the manufacturer. When these are offered, we send a notice of these to the customers that are still thinking things through. This was the last discount that the Member received from our office.

Our commitment to our customers is always our first concern. Our goal is to provide information to our customers so that they may make a good buying decision when it comes to home improvements. We obviously fell short in this case. The representative has been reprimanded, and he will be retrained to effectively convey the proper information the proper way, as this type of behavior is not tolerated. I’ve called the Member to speak to her personally to apologize and handle her window estimate personally.

Work crew arrived promptly on the scheduled day of installation. Professional and curtious. Cleaned up the work site upon completion. One of the window screens arrived with an approximate 1 inch hole and a peice of the laminate on the base of the window appeared to be damaged. The new wood trim they installed on the bottom of the window is not flush with the base of the window box. Overall they did a good job, answering any questions that I had.

We had someone come out for an estimate and was a very pushy salesman. We signed with them but canceled to go with another company. They then negotiated to a great price. I waited 2-3 weeks and never heard from them about the financing. I then contacted them and they told me if I haven't heard back then I need to call this one company. I called and they had no info on me so I called the company that I actually signed the papers with when the salesman was over. They didn't either. I then contacted Windows Nation again and told them and then the next day heard from the financing people. I did not go through with it because it was not even the financing they told me about and I agreed to when the salesman was over. It has been almost a month since someone gave me an estimate and it has been nothing but a headache and a run around.

We had a very positive experience with Window Nation from start to finish. After our picture window cracked we decided to go ahead and finally replace our 30-year old windows. We checked around ,and after seeing their TV ads, decided to give Window Nation a call The initial telephone conversation was professional and informative. Matt came to give us a quote. We weren't sure about replacing all the windows, but he gave us a great deal, and also offered some alternatives to cutting costs, such as just using white casing, sticking with double panes instead of going to triple(he never pushed us to get triple panes), and capping instead of replacing a few windows. After we agreed to get the windows, they were measured again and ordered. I had a question during that time and was given the opportunity to change my mind before our order went in( I didn't, but Window Nation made me feel during the whole process that my major home improvement purchase was as important to them as it was to me). Our install took 3 guys and 2 days to do. I cannot begin to say how impressed I was with the install!! The guys did a great job! They were professional, worked as a team and were kind and courteous to me and to each other. They were even nice to my dog! One of the windows wasn't as clear as they thought it should be, so they called the shop and got a replacement made to put in the second day!! My picture window was in and I couldn't even tell - I thought they just had an empty hole, that's how clear it looked! The guys also answered all the questions I had as they went along and at the end of the install. When they were done, the end result was phenomenal! It has made such a difference in our home, We wondered why we didn't do it sooner!! They also cleaned up after they left each day, so I didn't have a mess to deal with- I could just enjoy my windows! When the warm weather hit here and we were finally able to open all our windows, one was stuck,so we called and they had someone out fairly quickly. He came in and fixed the problem in 5 minutes, plus checked out our screen door that came off after we called( the dog's fault!), but he fixed that, too and the screen, which wasn't even in the original service call. The point is, they have gone above and beyond mere customer service, to customer satisfaction on every level with us. I would recommend this company and their product to everyone. Our windows really are beautiful and getting them done has been a fantastic improvement to our home.I love my garden window!! One word of caution- the side windows aren't real convenient to open, since I have to climb in my sink to open them! But that is my only problem and other than that we are very satisfied.
Description of Work: We had Window Nation replace all our windows, including a picture window and sliding door, for us. We also had one new Garden Window installed where there was just a regular window.

We were, and are, disappointed both with this product and with ourselves for making a hasty decision in order to get a Window Nations limited time "deal" offer. The salesman was knowledgeable and less high pressure than other window company salespeople who provided quotes. This was the first time we had purchased replacement windows and the salesman told us if we signed immediately we could qualify for an additional discount. We went to the store to see a full size display beyond what samples the salesman had but that Saturday the store was closed and we needed to sign by Monday to get the deal. Unfortunately, we signed. We went the next Saturday (I work out of town on week days and the three day order cancellation clause had passed), saw the display, felt it fell short of our expectations and put a HOLD on the order. At this time we did not know that the salesman DID NOT tell us was that the new windows would have 18% less glass area than our originals. We repeatedly asked the salesman and the manager to please release us from the agreement He refused. We chose not to pursue legal action because the cost of a lawyer could easily exceed the cost of the windows. So, when the installation day arrived we were surprised shocked and dismayed to see that the glass area of the windows was smaller than our originals. This was on top of our earlier concerns. We asked the installers who were professional and did a good job, why the glass area is smaller and they told us "this is a common complaint we hear when people see the windows for the first time". Once again we called the manager and described this new concern that we were seeing for the first time. He agreed to take $284 off the total of $5784 and gave us a guarntee for the next higher model (lifetime). Customers have a right to know if the replacement item has major differences from the original. We were not professional window shoppers and incorrectly assumed the glass area would be the same. Our window purchase experience was a major disappointment. We share the blame for not asking all the right questions, but to find our on installation day that the new glass area was 18% smaller we felt mislead. This was our reason for scoring the purchase a D for overall satisfaction.

The sales lady was very knowledgeable about the windows and installation and most importantly not pushy. Unlike another company I had out she gave us her best price up front and didn't pressure us to sign that day or the deal would go away. It took a total of about 4 weeks to get the windows installed (which is what they told me) and the installation team arrived promptly at 9am and finished the job in one day. I was most impressed with the clean up after the installation especially since it was very windy the day my windows were installed.
Description of Work: I contracted Window Nation to install new double hung windows with grids in between the glass in my cape code style home. The windows are white in color. All of the windows meet the tax credit qualifications (windows I purchased had a .25 u-value) and had a low-e with gas in them. I also contracted them to do the exterior capping around the window. I took advantage of the interest free financing too.
