We replaced 8 basement windows with glass block (a few with vents) and the process was GREAT! Tyson Williams and Anthony were our two installers and they were prompt, professional, very courteous, and friendly. They got all the work done, with clean up within 4 hours! We LOVE the new windows and SO glad we chose Glass Block Headquarters as our vendor. I would highly recommend them! Great product, amazing team, and outstanding customer service! Thanks team!

We were so pleased with everything about GBH. Robert the salesman answered all of our questions and concerns. Jesse showed up early on the day of installation and got straight to work! He was very professional. He cleaned up afterward, you'd never know he was there. You can tell he takes pride in his work. The windows look beautiful!

Everyone I came into contact with at the company was professional. From Robert in sales, Sabrina in the office, and Dave the installer. They were very easy to work with and worked around my schedule. There were no high pressure sales tactics. Dave did a fantastic job installing the windows....and he left my basement cleaner than when he arrived. I would use them again.

Called to schedule them to come out to take a look. They came just a few days later, gave us a good price estimate. We agreed on the price and they came 2 days later to complete the job. They were great. Would hire again if we ever need more windows installed.

It went very well. It was a difficult installation because the previous owner had tarred the windows shut. Dave did a good job and got the work done in a timely manner. There was a hole that he patched and didn't charge extra. We ordered the windows on a Thursday and they were installed the next Tuesday. I would use them again and recommend their service.

We had some glass block windows installed to replace some 100 year old basement windows. The installer and the measurement guy must not have communicated very well. Two of the windows are in the wrong place. 4 windows - two slightly shorter windows on the north side of the house, two taller ones on the south side. Only 1" difference but obvious when looking at the windows because the blocks don't line up. The kid that installed the windows had them cemented in before he realized something was not right. The window quality is very good and the quality of the install is really good also. The job was so inexpensive I decided to not make an issue out of it and live with the small mistake. The install only took a few hours.

Hello Mr [Member Name Removed], I just read your review and I was shocked to hear that because it had never been mentioned to me . So looking into the matter I search our system by your name and address and could not find anything. I think you meant to post this on Cleveland Glass Block's review page. I will also let Angies list know as well of the error. Thank you and I hope they help you resolve the issue. that can be fixed by replacing it with the correct size window unit.

I would avoid this company in the future. Now that I read their Angie's List "About" section it seems like they are trying to over compensate for a lack of customer service. My contractor recommended this company and said I should be able to save a little money with GBHQ over the big name window outfits. While the estimate was less, $90 to be exact, the poor quality windows and treatment by a company representative identifying himself as Eli make me wish I had gone elsewhere. The windows were installed on 10/9/17 and I made notes on the invoice, expecting a company representative to contact me upon reading my dissatisfaction with both the substandard build of the windows and the 4% customary overcharge for choosing to paying with a credit card (sorry, I don't know anyone that charges a credit card fee anymore, but GBHQ tries to play it off as a good thing because they aren't “hiding it". No, instead you're slapping me in the face with a junk fee). When my credit card was charged on 10/12/17, without hearing from a GBHQ about my issues I took the initiative and called. I was told that someone would call me back in a few minutes, Four hours later I received a call from Eli. I told him I was referred by my contractor, that the salesman was thorough and that I was happy with the installer but that the windows seemed shoddy. The silicone used to assemble the windows was still wet on the insides and all the joints were sloppy, with globs of silicone everywhere, instead of clean joints. Eli seemed to take it personal from the start suggesting that maybe I should come in and show them how to lay a clean bead of silicone. I said I'd be happy to, but first I’d like to get the windows I paid for. He said it was impossible to get the windows 100% perfect (which is actually the same thing the installer said as I recall). From there the conversation, I use the term “conversation” loosely because it was one-sided as Eli continually cut me off. It quickly deteriorated to a shouting match as I tried to get a word in here and there, but he continued to speak over me, was sarcastic, inferred that I was senile and ultimately used a derogatory term for a gay man. When I suggested maybe I should speak to someone else at GBHQ he said that I would not be speaking to the owners, that they had full confidence in him. So, at the moment GBHQ is scheduled to come out next week to "repair" my new windows. I will try to keep an open-mind but I will not tolerate a repair that does not make them the windows I was promised. NOTE: While silicone sounds like a better material than the mortar typically used to adhere the glass blocks it does not create the joints between the blocks you typically see thus making the window diameter smaller. The result is a larger gap around the perimeter of the window that requires a heavy bed of mortar to fill it. While I personally like the look of the windows, when silicone is properly applied, I am not a fan of the 1-1/2 gap round the entire perimeter of the window, especially if you’re not going to match the mortar to the mortar to my brick houses mortar joints. I only mention this because the salesman did not prepare me for this fact, forcing me to get an explanation from the installer.

Hello Mr.[Member Name Removed], I am very sorry that you were not happy with our company. We have been family owned and ran for over 17 years and try each and every day to make every customer happy .I would like address all 3 of your concerns today. Regarding the 4% fee. When you agreed to do the job with our company our Rep explained to you if you choose to use a credit card there would be a 4% fee (which was $2.00) on your $50.00 deposit. You stated all you had with you at that time was a credit card and you mentioned to him how you were not happy paying that fee. To keep you happy and earn your business he waived that fee and hand wrote on both your copy and the offices copy that the fee would be waived for the deposit only however you if wanted to avoid that fee on your balance to pay by check or cash. We installed your windows 8 days later . On the completion form you stated the work was done to your satisfaction except you wanted a phone call because you paid the balance with a credit card again and was no happy that you were going to be charged the 4% fee which now was $35.00 on your balance of $875.00. The office girls who process the paper work would normally make that call to explain the fee however since you were already explained this and we waived the fee once before they felt it was best for you to speak to a manger. As soon Eli walked in the office that after noon you were the first person he called .listening to the recordings he listened to your issues you had with the fees and the silicone. He started explaining to you why have those fees now how we hadn't raised our window costs in over 7 years. That the only thing we have changed in years was that and it was to keep the prices low. So customer that choose to use a credit card would have to pay the processing fee. your response was you small business owner act like you don't make any money, we all know you guys don't pay any taxes. Eli stated he is very offended by that statement and you reply back "well you must be a f***** then " Sir at hat point I personally would have hung up. Eli continued to stay on the phone and said lets talk about the silicone issue. During production extra silicone oozed out and dried on 1 block our installer missed it upon install . Eli scheduled service a call the very next day and had it cleaned up within 5 minute. Now regarding your last issues regarding the 1 inch gap along the perimeter. When our service guy came out he mentioned he explained to you why that happened and he said you completely understood. Being that we didn't make the opening to your basement we can only make the windows so big. Builder back then and even now don't consider our limitations when they built homes so we can only build it one way and most times it's a great tight fit and but once in a while there's a little bit more mortar around the perimeter. Once again I would like to say I'm sorry you were happy with us. We try each and every day to make every customer happy and once in a while we do make errors like the Silone . However we will always without delay work to correct it as you saw. This reason alone is why we have such a great score not because we don't make mistakes, Because everyone does . Its because we correct them immediately when we do. Sincerely , Sophia

Great! We had gotten an estimate for the same work a few years ago from another company. We were told that the tile around the window would likely need to be repaired in order to put the window in, and it seemed like a hassle to have to hire someone else to fix the tile so I just put it on hold. I decided to call this company this year and they never even brought up the tiles as an issue, they placed the window, it looks great on the inside and the outside, and it was hassle free.

Initially, everything was great regarding getting the quote and scheduling the work. The office workers were very nice and helpful with scheduling the appointment and answering questions. The person that came to do the quote was also very nice and punctual. The problems began when the 2 man crew showed up to do the installation. I don't know if this was a new crew or they were just having a bad day, but, as my wife stated to me, they seemed like they were in a rush from the start. This clearly shows in the final product. To begin with, they informed us that we had to move the washer and dryer so that they could access two of the windows or it was a $75 fee for them to move them. They had not previously mentioned anything about this and when they were previously in my basement to provide the quote and I asked if I needed to do anything in preparation I was explicitly told no. I will admit that I missed the line on the contract that mentions this fee, but I think it is a little ridiculous that they wouldn't at least mention it before coming out. My washer and dryer are not lightweight. I cannot move them on my own or with just my wife. They are front loading machines and are raised up on bricks because of moisture in the basement. I do appreciate the company waiving the fee for moving the washer and dryer. However, I do not appreciate the way in which they were handled. The workers simply yanked them out from the wall without regard to the fact that they were raised on bricks and without even disconnecting the water lines. I have not had a chance to check the feet yet, but it is apparent that they were mishandled and if the leveling feet are damaged I will be filing a claim with the better business bureau. The washer and dryer issue aside, the quality of the work itself is clearly rushed and lacking. All of the mortar they installed is cracking within 3 hours of being placed. They clearly used way too much water in the mix resulting in extra shrinking during the drying process. Some of the cracks are as large as 1/4". They also left gaps at the top of several windows where cold air from outside is pouring through like there isn't even a window there. As for the cleanup, they left cigarette butts in my driveway, broken glass and other pieces of the old windows in my yard, chunks of concrete in my driveway and dust and other debris all over my basement and basement stairs. To top off the whole project they left paper towels and a cloth rag on top of my boiler next to the flue. THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD. Thanks for almost burning down my home. Not to mention they didn't even bring all the necessary tools and had to borrow mine. I wish I could have been present to supervise, but unfortunately I have to work and my wife didn't inspect any of this before signing off. I will never recommend this company to anyone else. I would have thought with the history of reviews on here that this company provided a better service. I guess not.

Everything about our experience with Glass Block Headquarters was a pleasure. They were very professional, prompt and helpful with information. This company was excellent from the start. They made every appointment on time and were able to schedule us within a week. Bob was the installer and he did a fantastic job. He was very polite and answered all of our questions. Bob also did an excellent job cleaning up. He is a very competent person who took his time to make sure the windows were perfect. My husband is a very picky individual. After Bob had left, he went downstairs to check out the windows and was amazed that he could not find anything wrong! I don't think that anyone would go wrong using this company in the future. Another reason we chose this company is because they use glass block made by Pittsburgh Corning which is an American company located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Their competitors used glass block imported from out of the country.

A very nice, young, service guy arrived right on time. He worked efficiently and explained everything that he was going to do and answered all my questions. He did a wonderful job and was finished within 4 hours- I think! Just one negative thing - the dryer vent wasn't hooked up before the guy left and he never mentioned that he would not be hooking up the dryer to the vent! The guy left and I called the company to tell them that that hook up had been overlooked by their guy. They said No - they don't put the dryer vent hook up together on their jobs. I was pretty upset because this is not a job I have ever done so I was very disappointed that they left me with this problem. It seems to me, they could have had a happy customer if they would just bring whatever parts are needed to finish the job. These items were very inexpensive but it cost me time and worry about finishing the job so I could do my laundry. So yes, they did a good job but they did not earn high marks from me!

The job went great!! Elias promptly came to my home and gave me an estimate. I waited several weeks to contact for the job because I was trying to coordinate installation with vinyl siding my home. When I signed the contract, I was told it would be about 3 weeks for installation. I called their very helpful scheduler/secretary, Sophia, to ensure that the windows would be installed before the siding job started and she scheduled me a time that met my needs. Originally I was given an installition date that would have been after my siding was installed but when I explained that the glass block windows would need to be finished differently than the windows that were currently in, arrangements were made to meet my needs. Scott did a beautiful job installating my windows. Sophia was a pleasure to talk to. THANK YOU FOR MEETING MY NEEDS!! Everyone at Glass Block Headquarters were a pleasure to do business with. Thank you for my beautiful new windows.
