Zimmer Heating & Cooling

I want to keep my old furnace so I decided to invest in bugins replacement parts, so I know I could get it fixed quickly if part goes out. I don't want to be without heat for a week if part goes out. He ordered replacement parts and dropped them off at my house a week later when they came in. I am storing and will call him if it goes out. Other parts are easily obtained if they go out. The heat exchanger is the only other thing that could go out.

They are thoroughly professional and up to the minute in what they offer. I would hands down recommend this company. This company should be A++ is every category! Also, If you ever need an air conditioner, I would recommend getting a heat exchanger!

I was very impressed, and I'll use these guys again when my A/C goes out in the near future. Dave Hicks spent a lot of time at our house going over options and quoting all of them. Our old furnace triggered the CO detector right before Thanksgiving, and he had a crew out here two days after I signed the contract to install it in one day. He offered to loan us space heaters, but luckily we had a couple of warm days outside. The installers also did a great job making sure they didn't make a mess and left everything neat. The office even filed the Duke Energy rebate and warranty registration for us. I was set on the Amana furnace due to the great warranty and price, and these guys could install it the fastest and cheapest of the four places that gave me estimates. It's not often you can get something fast, cheap, and right.

It went extremely well. We called the company at 8am and because our furnace was not working on a very chilly day they were able to have two techs there at around noon the same day. The techs quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem and they were cordial and hard working. I will now use this company for all of my heating and cooling needs.

I was very please with Zimmer Heating & Cooling. Chris Zimmer was who I dealt with. Chris did an excellent job evaluating my current system, air flow issues (second story not cooling well), and clearly explaining the options available to me. Chris did a complete air flow evaluation and calculation, then quoted me several different levels of work to be done to address my situation. Several other HVAC contractors came to my home and only gave me a quote on a direct replacement of the system that was there, which was only part of what I was looking for. Chris Zimmer actually helped educate me and offer options on how to either improve and/or fix my cooling situation. Zimmer was not the cheapest of the quotes, but their pricing was NOT out of line, especially considering the amount of evaluation and level of professionalism. Zimmer followed-up after the installation on both the AC system and on the furnace in the fall. I would strongly suggest giving Zimmer a call.

Dave came out when promised and thoroughly examined our old heating and air conditioning units, pointed out some problems with the old installation, answered our numerous questions and said he would email us a number of possible installation scenarios at a variety of price points and using several different manufacturers' units. He emailed the information as promised a couple of days later. He then scheduled a follow-up appointment a couple of days later to go over the estimates. Again, he was very polite, knowledgeable and non-pushy. He even held us a installation appointment for that week while we decided (we had no AC at that point and it was 90 degrees). After reviewing his estimates along with those of two other companies, we chose to go with another company. Frank and Zimmer did a great job on the estimates. Our decision was based solely on price. The other contractor beat his price (by $400) on the units we chose and was able to match installation date and other aspects.

It was a hot day, but they were able to come out quickly. Technician was very friendly and professional. He took the time to explain what was wrong and what he did to troubleshoot it. Everything was fixed within hours of my call.

Work was performed promptly and repair was effective.

Chris Zimmer was very honest and professional from the initial estimate to the final system check. I was happy with their service. They moved the location of the system in my yard as well. The quote also included replacing old, unadjustable vents in the upstairs bedrooms. The old vents were custom-made and not easily replaced, so the service staff returned and installed new duct work in basement with functioning dampers instead, at no additional cost. The Zimmer company services my heating and cooling systems twice a year and I have been happy with their work. The only down side to their service history with me is their service technicians have often arrived at the end of or even late for the 1 hour window given to me by the schedulers.

I was specifically interested in the SpacePak system because of its ability to be installed in an older house with no ductwork (we have hot water heat that we like very much and wanted to keep). A friend of mine had Zimmer do a SpacePak system in their older home in Clifton, and he highly recommended them. I then researched Zimmer's work via Angie's List before making the call. Chris responded right away to my call for an estimate, and he was prompt for his appt (and all subsequent appointments). We went ahead and scheduled the work for a couple of weeks after the original estimate. The work crew was incredibly professional, clean, and considerate. They were here for a total of 7 days, and each day they cleaned up completely after themselves, so there was virtually no disruption to our daily lives while this BIG job was being completed. They were very responsive to any questions/concerns throughout the process, and we're incredibly happy with our new A/C system. It works great!

I called Zimmer Heating after 2 Heating companies had failed to show up. One other did provide a quote, but I was not pleased with. I joined Angie's List & found Zimmer Heating. I was looking to have gas logs installed in my living room because it was very cold. On this particular day, there was a snow & ice storm coming through when I called. Despite this fact, Chris called back & came out within 2 hours, even though this was not an emergency. He was very professional, knowledgeable, & honest. I was very embarrassed when he found that there were actually 2 vents in the living room that had been closed & covered up since we had moved in. We opened the vents, which now heat the room & the logs are no longer a necessity. He did give us a quote for $600-$700, which was equal to what the other company had given us. Chris didn't ask for anything for his time, & I couldn't have been more pleased dealing with him. We will definitely use Zimmer in the future. Highly recommended!

I had called for a diagnosis of a problem with the furnace as well as a general service call for cleaning, adjusting, etc on a rental property. The problem was with the thermostat, not the furnace. Imagine my surprise when without authorization from me, the owner and landlord, a programmable thermostat with what appears to be enough features to control the space shuttle was installed at a cost of $461.51. The thermostat that was replaced was a basic $80 model purchased at Home Depot. This is a rental property, not my personal living space. This done without my authorization. Also, the furnace was not serviced as requested. When I requested a call from a person in a leadership capacity from Zimmer Heating and Cooling, that call never came. Instead a business card was included in the initial bill I received. I would not recommend this company due to the price gouging, absence of authorization, and the lack of follow through on the service requested.

I was extremely pleased from start to finish. This is a very professional company, from my initial panicked phone call to watching the technician clean up and carry out the packaging and other debris from his repair work. I stood by and watched the entire operation and the technician took time to explain everything he was doing, to give me some maintenance tips, and seemed as concerned as I was about getting the heat back on. A day later he followed up with a phone call to be sure everything was working properly.

We noticed a dramatic increase in airflow through the floor registers in the family room. It is still cooler than most of the house during the winter but instead of it being in the 50's after a cold night (rest of house set at 65 degrees) it is now only a few degrees different during the cold nights. The men who replaced the duct work were courteous, professional, took few breaks and kept the site clean after they left each day (job took 2 full days).

They were very friendly and had a prompt service. No complaints here.

Twice I had them scheduled and they did not show up. Neither time did they call me, I had to call them.

I first contacted Zimmer because our furnace stopped working inexplicably on one of the coldest nights of the year. The tech on call moved us up on his list and diagnosed the problem. He came back to provide the service as promised. I appreciated his willingness to help when he was swamped; and that he didn't try to sell us every new product in the book.

The service man arrived 5 minutes early and spent 2 hours on the premises. He appeared to be very thorough.

Good experience overall. I received detailed proposals for several possible systems and was able to pick one that I thought was best. The rep was available by phone to answer questions and give me updates as needed. Installation went well. System has been working just fine.

I had made an appointment for early November to check and clean my furnace. When the weather turned chilly in mid October, I turned on the furnace. No heat. I called at 11 pm on a Friday night and asked if we could move up the appointment. They asked if this was an emergency that they should send someone on Saturday rates, or if I thought I wanted to wait for the regular weekday rates on Monday. I told them to come on Monday. Fortunately the weekend was pretty warm, and the house never got colder than 50 degrees. Had my problem diagnosed within minutes. It took a couple of hours to take apart the blower and motor, and put in a new one. My service person was very polite and even took the time to look at my AC ducts that had condensation issues in the summer. Overall a positive experience.

They had very good service. They assessed our heating needs quite thoroughly, explained what we would need, and gave us an estimate with 3 choices at different price ranges. Once we chose, the work was done within a week. The technicians were courteous and thorough, updated our fuse box to allow the furnace to run, and did a little work on our AC blower, all at no extra charge. We were very pleased with the work done.

The technician from Zimmer found the problem quickly and and made sure that the repair was right. We purchased our unit from Zimmer and have alway been pleased with their service and how quickly they respond to our call.

Did a thorough cleaning job and explained things. My only issue is that he said "he topped off" the refrigerant when the A/C unit actually had a major leak. It had to be recharged again two months later and is again malfunctioning. My service technician is no longer there. Unsure whether I would hire company again.

The service tech was on time, polite and very thorough. He carefully and fully explained the problems he saw in my system and laid out all of my options. He answered all of my questions fully. The owner followed up to recommend replacing the system and again, He was very careful about not pressuring me into a system, or selling me options I don't want or need. I will be replacing the system in the late summer/early fall to take advantage of sales and rebates, but I was very impressed with the work they did to help me get through the rest of the summer!
