Sure Thing Pest Control

Called the day before to let me know time. Call the day of service because I have 3 dogs that I had to put up. Came right on time.. Very nice explained everything. Cost, what the bug was. About keeping dogs out of yard for a few hours. Very pleasant.

I thought I had bites on me so I took some bugs from carpet into them. Office personnel told me bed bugs. I went insane and scheduled a spray. When he came out, he found NO evidence of them anywhere even though she said I had them. I also had 2 other pest control people out who could find no evidence either. I went to my doctor and he said it was a rash from plants. I called a week late to explain how this had turned my life upside down and I threw out all my matresses and blankets, etc. and spent 4 days bagging clothes and washing/cleaning everything and vacuuming constantly. I told her I only wanted to make sure this never happens to anyone else as I nearly had a nervous breakdown over it. They need to be certified entomologists to identify these bugs. When I called to inform the owner, she was very snippy and nasty with me stating that if their office said they identified it as bed bugs, it most definitely was a bed bug. They could absolutely not be wrong about it. She then proceeded to tell me that you can only have one bed bug and that was probably the case with me. Only having one bed bug is preposterous. Come on lady!

They came out twice and we would use them again.

No complaints. Jack Black was prompt and professional. Matt came out for the service and was great. Twyla, customer service was great. Short notice, on time, what more can I ask. Going to sign a yearly contract based on initial experience.

I called and explained that we were finding wood shavings on our deck and I wanted the provider to come out and assess the problem. I was informed it was most likely carpenter bees and the approximate cost. They company had someone out within 48 hours. So far so good. I got an invoice a few days later with the price I had agreed upon and promptly paid the bill. Now it is over one month later and I have been sent another invoice for $6.18 in taxes that they forgot to charge and a $1.00 service fee for printing a bill. I called the company and was rudely told that they forgot to charge me taxes but would waive the service fee. Well, thanks considering it was your fault in the first place. I seriously thought about throwing this bill away but am going to pay the $6.18 to avoid any conflict. Maybe a reputable Angie's List company should realize it is better to eat $6.18 that you forgot to charge than to send a second bill and lose a potential repeat customer. I should not have had to call to get a wrongly-assessed service fee waived and I will not be using this company again because of this issue. Maybe I should send them a bill for $0.46 for my postage stamp since I am mailing in a second check.

The technician was very knowledgable and the reason I ended up signing with Sure Thing. He was very friendly and professional. They have worked very hard to get rid of as many stinkbugs as they can.

Great service. Bees were nesting and boring holes in wood fence. The service guy checked the entire fence and found more places that needed treatment that I wasn't aware of. He showed me all the problem areas and advised me on ways to help prevent their return to the same areas. He was on time, courteous and thorough.

Sure Thing was extremely thorough in checking for bed bugs. My son had bed bug bites, confirmed by a dermatologist. Sure Thing was one of three exterminators we called out. Sure Thing checked all beds, behind pictures on walls, inside mattresses, along base boards and in clothing. They could not find evidence of any bed bugs. We have a large house, they were here two hours. Because my son had bed bug bites the professional went back over all the beds a second time. He found shell casings of the variegated carpet beetle, common to all households. There were only three shell cases found on one bed, but it explained why one company said we had bed bugs. Sure Thing did not try to sell us anything. The person who came out has over 30 years experience with this company. We asked if we should be sprayed for spiders or any bugs, he said no because it may aggravated our son. The other company that came out did not find bed bugs either (Permkill). We were out of town and our college son called Schwerger and they told him we had bed bugs. But that turned out to be a false diagnosis. I think they saw our home, knew the parents were on vacation and could make money from our fear. I would highly recommend Sure Thing due to their integrity and thoroughness of work.

From my initial email through recieving the bill - everything was perfect. I sent a note requesting information. Within an hour I was told they would call me the next morning to discuss. They called, we scheduled an appointment. The owner actually performed the service. He showed up puntually. I explained our conerns. He spent time explaining the types of bugs around us and how they affect us. He then recommended the outdoor service and explained thoroughly what he would be doing and how it would affect us (including the dog). Fortunately - nothing major! He just asked that the dog didn't cross outside for about an hour. During the treatment, he found 2 active wasps nests, 2 areas where carpenter bees bored holes. He continued to explain everything he was doing. He was incredibly friendly, a hard worker, very thorough, spent time explaining everything. I highly highly recommend them and look forward to their continued services!!! f

Customer service was rude and very unhelpful!! Will not elaborate on services. Did not get service based on customer service experience.

I called to schedule an appointment. The inspector showed up promptly, as scheduled, the next day. He identified the problem, explained the treatment process and answered my question about any follow up that we would need to perform. A couple of hours after he left, he called me back to let me know that he had given me incorrect information about the time frame for the follow up and gave me the correct information. The guy that did the actual treatment showed up the next day, performed the service and left me a message to call him if I see any more bees after a 2 day period. I have not seen any more bees.

Sure Thing Pest Control does a great job.

I was having some remodeling done and they observed active termites in a wall. (I was having a window replaced with a door.) I called Sure Thing and they were there within an hour to take a look.. The ground was wet so they came back a few days later to do a complete inspection, including the crawlspace under the house. Jack then came up 2 quotes, one using the liquid application, the other using a bait system. He went over both in detail, making sure I had a complete understanding of each before I made a decision. (I went with the bait system.) The work was done a few weeks later and I was shown where all of the bait traps had been set. Everyone I dealt with was polite, courteous, and made me feel like I was important to them as a customer.

Good, I no longer have any mice. I called Sure Thing after catching about 6 mice myself via traps over the course of 1.5 months. However, after realizing that even after catching 6, I hadn't eliminated the problem or point of entry, and was worried I had 50 mice in my walls, I called out the professionals. Sure Thing was very responsive and punctual. They laid down about 8 different poison trap bait stations throughout the basement and attics and garage. The poison worked as the mice are definitely gone. Additionally, as promised, there was no "smell" from dead mice in the walls. Not sure where they died, but have not found any nor smelled any. The guy also walked around the house to look for point of entry. We think we found it - in the garage where metal conduit was entering the wall by the basement, there was a small gap and mice only need about 1/4" to get in. We filled with steel wool and I think that solved the problem. They came back for optional follow-up for $50 where they open the traps and inspect activity. I probably didn't need to do this, but was curious where they had eaten which really was minimal after all. The price was a bit more than I hoped to pay and I probably could do the same thing by buying the right bait stations and poison bait on internet or Home Depot for much cheaper, but at least I know now. You can buy the same thing they use online for sure. Hopefully its a moot point if I truly caught the point of entry. My biggest issue is that they lock the bait stations and keep the key, so you can't go in yourself to check or reload. They obviously do this so you need to call them back for this, but I think once you pay for the stations, they should be yours to keep and open, etc. The guy who came by was a nice enough guy and pretty informed, but he had really bad knees/arthritis which seemed to limit his flexibility to get into places. I don't think it made a difference for me, but could be a limiters for others.

There were little holes being bored from inside our dining room wall. We called Angie's List and got the number for Sure Thing Pest Control. We called and an appointment was made. The employee called to say he was on his way. He was prompt, courteous and very knowledgeable. He inspected the was and determined we had termites. He checked the outside perimeter of our house and located the colony of termites and treated it. He also went up in the attic to be sure the damage was contained to our dining room. He explained what he was doing and how it worked. He advised us to have inspections and a treatment yearly, which we have done....and No More Termites! I would definitely recommend Sure Pest.

They came out and we discussed the situation and they thought we were fine the way things were. I feel it was very honest of them and appreciate the fact they treated us they way they did.

Technician was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. He explained everything he was doing and what to expect? I used an Angie's List coupon for 10% off. I also signed up for quarterly treatments because I tend to get bugs on my lower level.

Interviewed three of the top 5 rated companies on Angie's List for a newly discovered termite infestation found in our house (yikes). Jack Black came promptly at the agreed time, assessed the situation and provided two solutions (liquid barrier and a combination of liquid and bait). He was very professional and provided us an education on termites and the various approaches to treat. At the end of the day, we decided to go with another similar company. This could have been a coin-flip decision, but went with a company whose owner would be on the premises during the treatment phase. There are various approaches to treating termites. I would recommend inviting SureThing Pest Control to be a part of your decision-making process. Pricing was competitive with the other companies.

Found bed bugs in one bedroom. Called Sure Thing, based on reviews on Angie's List. Courteous, knowledgable phone rep provided information on what to do, and most importantly what NOT to do. This prevented bugs from spreading to other rooms. They gave detailed instructions on how to prepare the house before treatment (a LOT of work, but necessary). These bugs are VERY persistent and can hide in the smallest places imaginable. You don't want to go through this more than once. They recommended bug-proof mattress covers for all bedrooms, which we purchased from Sure Thing for convenience's sake. They also explained that we'd need to be out of the house for ~4 hours following treatment, which helped us with deciding when to schedule (dog boarding, etc.). Technician arrived with proper equipment and mattress covers on time, conducted a thorough inspection, explained our options and applied treatment. Also explained that a second (and even third) treatment might be necessary, which is consistent with other information I had gathered. About 1 week after treatment, we found a few bugs behind a picture hanging on the wall in the same room and called for a second treatment. It has been 4 weeks since the second treatment and no sign of bugs. After going through this, we recommend Sure Thing (a professional exterminator is a must to get rid of these), and will use them again for other pest control issues.

They were easy to do business with, Scott quoted a price that the company said was no longer available, yet he honored the quote anyway. I've used this company in the past and will certainly use them again.

The day before Thanksgiving we noticed tiny flies in our house. We thought they were fruit flies and tried various internet "home remedies" suggestions to get rid of them. They failed. Then we noticed the flies were attrached to milk products and meat. I then thought they were another kind of fly. I called Sure Thing Pest Control based upon reviews from other Angie's List customers. I could not have been happier. Jerry, the technician, was very professional and on time from his initial inspection to the day he preformed the service. He told me they were indeeed fruit flies and gave me more than enough information about them. So I was impressed with his knowledge too. The rate was fair given our house is large and he needed to smoke out the flies on two levels since we did not find the "source". We were otu of the house for about an hour and half. They locked up when they were finished and he left receipt on table. It worked!

We built a new house in January and noticed some scratching noises early in the morning a couple of times. We thought it might be a squirrel or a mouse, so we looked on Angie's List for the best and nearest pest control folks. Turned out Sure Thing was rated excellent by the vast majority of customers, so I gave them a call. Jerry came out promptly and inspected the attic and the rest of the house. Didn't find any signs (great news), but went ahead and set bait to make sure there really wasn't anything in the attic. Came back a month later and re-checked the bait and nothing had been touched. No charge for the re-check. Bottom line: Exceptionally professional service at an entirely reasonable price. Very friendly and courteous and sensitive to our concerns. Also ended up contracting Sure Thing to do the outside insect control. We live next to a water retention pond and marsh and the spiders are everywhere along with a host of wasps and other assorted bugs. The treatment worked extraordinarily well and the spiders began falling within days and Jerry treated and removed all of the wasp nests in the eaves and entrances. Haven't seen a web since and it is likely to get even better as we continue to treat with Sure Thing. I've also hired them for my daughter's house and recommended them to a few others in the family. Couldn't be happier with their services and products.
