Ace Exterminating

I had a squarrel that chewed into my facia board on the exterior of my house. He obviously was making a nest. I called this company because the reviews on Angie's list looked favorable. They transfer my call to the Animal Removal department. I left a detailed message but no one ever returned my call.

They set traps and resolved the issues.

Wendy was thorough in her inspection and helpful in explaining how to handle eradication and prevention of future problems. Marcus did the actual treatment and set up all of the bait stations. He also returned the next month to check up on the treatment. (He will return at 3-month intervals this first year to make sure everything is okay.) We selected this company because (1) Sentricon is the treatment and prevention used and (2) the cost is reasonable. We plan to stay with the company because (1) Wendy and Marcus impressed us with their knowledge and professionalism and (2) the cost of the maintenance plan is reasonable.

The company's service center contacts and exterminator were responsive and professional. They resolved the problem within hours of our initial contact.

Rick Steinau, President of the company, responded promptly with a very detailed and comprehensive response to my questions. His response eased my concerns and left me armed with the information necessary to be ready if I notice termite activity indicators. If I need an exterminating company, this will be the company I will call!

Earlier in the week I had a snake in my house. I got that chased out by my heroic brother in law. When we turned the recliner over in the living room, I noticed the mouse droppings. I knew I had them in the garage, but didn't realize the were inside the house. I started looking in the cupboard and found a mouse sitting there looking at me. I got rid of that one and then found all the food that they had gotten into. I knew then I had to take action. After the first couple days, I think we got the majority of them. Still have a stragler or 2 that are avoiding the glue strip. Overall, I appreciate Ace coming out and providing me with a method to take back control of my home. The technician was friendly and explained things to me as he went around checking things.

They set up ongoing treatment and guarenteed their work. Very satisfied with promptness and quality.

I had a freakin' swarm of termites fly out of my window sill into my house. I almost lost it; it made me wanna barf. I sucked them up in the vacuum, ran over to the computer and checked out Angie's list for recommendations. Living in such a woody, old house, I was expecting this day to come. I saw that Ace specialized in a "green" approach which to me meant, "no poison!" I have a three year old, cats, and a garden (not to mention me and my husband!) whom I did NOT want soaked in poison. But, darn I hate bugs!! I called late in the day on Monday, the sales guy came Tuesday morning, and my Sentricon system (14 stations around the yard!) was installed by 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. They did great!! They were informative (I was a pretty well informed consumer to begin with),punctual, and speedy! This stuff is guaranteed to work, and while I know it takes 2-3 months to full obliterate the colony, I haven't seen one of the little buggers since. Ace and their representatives were respectful to the house to. The guy said to leave the old wood work alone since it couldn't be easily matched and replaced. Otherwise he would have pulled back a board to show me the termite's dastardly deeds. I am 100% completely satisfied. I also got $20 off for being an Angie's List member. Only $20, you say? Well, I personally was happy to have it!

When I first called, the lady on the phone seemed to be suggesting that it was normal to be seeing a lot of bees this time of year, which I understood of course. But once I explained that this seem overkill, she sent me to the phone of the lady assigned to our area, who promptly called back. She was able to come to the house and look around that day (happy occurrence since she was in the area for another site visit), called me afterwards and explained everything that she saw. Seemed very knowledgeable. Next day, the exterminator guy (I guess you would call him) called and explained what he had done for the job, and also explained that most of the bees seemed to be coming from next door and were burrowing lots of holes in THEIR house, so now we've spoken with them as well. I thought it would be a few days before we'd see the difference but the guy said that he had killed the bees flying around too, so we didn't have to wait for them to crawl in and out of the holes first. They also took care of some wasps nests they found. When I got home that afternoon I didn't feel like I was walking through a war zone to get into my own home, hooray! Overall excellent prompt and well-guided service. Can't comment on price cuz we didn't look at other companies for comparison.

They arrived in a timely fashion, were professional, and I was very pleased with their performance.

called on a Saturday and left a message with their answering service. I received a call on Monday from Tom and once I explained my issue, he told me that they do not get up in attics that do not have a floor down due to liability issues, but he took the time to ask me questions to try and help me figure out what the scratching noises Iin my ceiling could be. Once he realized he lived in the same town as I did, he told me he would stop by on his way home from work and at least do an outside visual inspection to see if he could find anywhere a mouse or bird may be entering into my attic. The fact that he was still willing to help me was very professional instead of just leaving it at we don't go into attics that do not have floors. I ended up not using his offer to come by as I found another company on Angie's List that could help me out, but I would not hesitate to call ACE exterminating for their other services in the future.

I think they are very responsive and they do a really great job. I pay them the monthly charges.

I initially called on a Sunday and left a message with their calling service. I received a call Monday morning around 9:00 a.m. The employee who called was helpful and polite but for whatever reason did not have access to the schedule and said she would have to call me back. When I had not heard back by noon I called and was put into her voicemail. I called again at 4:00 and was put into her voicemail. I called back immediately and this time the person who answered said she could help me. First experience with them was not going well. The technician was able to come out the next day and was extremely helpful. He called 30 minutes prior and showed up early which helped out my schedule. The technician was very personable and I felt he truly cared about getting the mice out of the house. He answered every question, made suggestions and settled my mind about getting the mice out of the house. We have small children and were concerned about mice getting through their toys and how to clean them. He made a suggestion and just to confirm he called into the office for a second opinion which confirmed his suggestions. I was also concerned about any poisons or the type of bait. He assured me they use no poisons and said if the owner found out he placed any poisons he would be fired immediately. Even though we were keeping the children out of the area he did not place any snap traps where the kids could get to them so they would not get hurt. The next day I checked and found traps sprung, including in the drop ceiling which I would never have thought to place traps in. Have found no more droppings so problem solved within 24 hours. Other than the initial call back problems I have been more than pleased. I struggled with the overall A or B score because of the call back problem. However, I would have to say since the problem was solved so quickly and the attention the technician paid to the problem I feel trumps that, so I give them an A.

It went very well. They had said the exterminator would be here between 9 and 12 and would call about a half hour before arriving. Marcus called around 11:30 and was here around 12. I had to go somewhere today so I had him do the interior first, including the interior of my attached garage. He offered to put down glue blocks so we could see where the wolf spider might've come in from but I wasn't up to that. I had to leave, he finished up the exterior w/ spraying, cleaning the cobwebs, and also unexpectedly was going to put some granules down around the exterior of the house for additional protection. Overall I was very pleased with Marcus and Ace Exterminating w/ all of the service they provide.

I noticed a hornets nest hanging in front of my garage door and did some research on removal. After discovering that hornets can be quite dangerous, I called Ace to have the nest removed. The removal was scheduled for 2 days later and I was advised that the fee for removal was $165. When Jeff arrived to remove the nest, he advised that he would be treating around the house after removing the nest. He then put on a bee hat, jacket and gloves for protection and removed the nest, placing it in a plastic bag. Upon determining that there were no hornets in the nest, he contacted his office to find out what the minimum charge would be since he didn't feel that I should pay the originally quoted price under the circumstances - no additional treatment was necessary. The price was adjusted to $58.00. I am impressed with and grateful for Jeff's sense of fairness in pricing. If I require services in the future I will not hesitate to call Ace Exterminating.

Very unprofessional and obnoxious-sales person was Wendy. I called to get information on their annual pest control programs. She asks more questions than she answers. Try to sell what she wants to sell without answering questions. I remembered, after starting talking to her, that I had talked to her one year ago and decided not to use her. I should have known this.

As before, the rep who called me was extremely knowledgeable. We discussed the problems and what could be done to address them. He said that wolf spiders are actually the perfect predator, and would help keep other insect populations down. When the food source disappeared, so would they. He recommended that I seal the 2 locations I identified as likely mouse entry points, and told me that I could put out traps as easily and more cheaply than he could. He provided detailed instructions to me, and said he would be happy to do the work, but wanted to give me the less expensive option. I thanked him for the info, and told him I'd call if my attempts were not successful.

They are really friendly. They do a really good job. They are very professional. They always show up on time. If we need something taken care of after they have done the monthly spray, they will come out and take care of the problem at no extra charge.

Professional,on time and interactive. These guys came out to look at an ant problem I was having for two years. They identified them as Carpenter ants, went throughout the house to see what havoc they had wrecked and figured out where they were getting in for me even. Since I have had them on the watch, I have had no problems of any kind with pests inside the house, even with tenants who were less than cleanly. When I had a problem they responded immediately and adjusted my extermination needs within the week. I rank them as a solid company with good customer service, attentive to the customers needs.

I contacted Ace because of a positive experience with them regarding termite problems. Unfortunately, I had to recontact them three times. Apparently the secretary did not know that the person I had asked for was off that day. When I finally got through, an appointment was scheduled for the next day. Kevin the technician, came and promptly eliminated the yellow jack infestation. Overall, a positive experience.

I would say it went OK. I was not disappointed with the actual service provided by the 2 men who came out. However, when I first learned my cat had fleas, I was very nervous and upset. Since it was the weekend, I emailed Ace Extermination at their address to let them know I would be calling them first thing Monday morning, which I did, around 8:05 a.m. I was put in contact with someone who told me what to do first myself; fortunately I had already done most of it, vacuumed, washed all bedding, etc. He assured me there would be no problem with someone coming out later that day, and said someone would call to confirm a time, so I spend the morning making sure cooking utensils were moved, vacuumed again and cleaned all the upholstery with the attachment etc. At about 1:15, I received a call from Mary Ann to schedule the service. She had no idea I had been told they would be out that day, and said that was impossible and that the man I talked to should have never told me that. She scheduled the crew to come the next morning, which as I said, they did. Mary Ann was very nice and professional and I understand her viewpoint very well. I, on the other hand, was pretty hurried to begin with and then was also tired from cleaning, moving things, etc., only to be told I would have to go through some of the same exercises the next day, plus another day of worry about the fleas. So, you may be surprised that I would use this company again. First, I used them because of their excellent ratings on the list, and second, I do think it was an unfortunate mistake made by the first man I talked to. As you have noticed though, I don't feel I can give them an excellent rating because of this scheduling snafu, and the added stress it placed on me.
