Guy and his crew did a great job in spite of the city beginning repaving the street with no warning - which caused Guy some extra work. He was able to work with the paving contractor and the city inspector in order to get the job done. In addition, there were more layers of asphalt to remove than he or we realized. Nonetheless, he kept to his original price agreement. We are very happy with Guy and his company and would definitely recommend them.

We found him on Angie's list. The guy was really good at getting back to us on every detail and the explanation. We had to delay the project at one point, and it wasn't the problem doing that at all. He took the initiative and dealt with the problem. We did not have to pay anything extra.

Guy is amazing. He is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. Very quick on his feet. The crew was great. They encountered several unpredicted obstacles and found solutions so fast I couldn't believe it. I appreciated that guy was quick to explain why things should be done. He gave me much confidence that things were done right and to the highest standards. He was very courteous and even helped my wife carry groceries in! Although they were not the cheapest quote I think the extra few hundred was well worth it especially when things did not go as planned (burried water and sewer). They even power washed the driveway after they were done. These guys are the best!

The men were prompt, neat, and did a beautiful quality job. Many of my neighbors have commented on how nice the driveway looks. All of the workers were friendly and professional. They were responsive to each of my questions and completed the work quickly. I recommend them highly.

Guy was very responsive to all of my requests including estimates for the work and past customer references. He corresponded with me via email and with personal phone calls. He was timely with the information I needed and with the scheduling of the work. The work was performed over two days. Guy was on the site overseeing the work the whole time. All of the workers were polite and respectful of my property. They made sure everything was clean and in order before they left. They were very professional and the quality of the job was very good. It is evident that they take pride in what they do.

Guy (forget his last name right now) arrived on time with other workers. I asked about the impending thunder storm. He assured me they could time everything right if they started right away. He then left and his father and other workers did the old driveway removal work and I really didn't see him again. That night it stormed. The cement was put in the next day and it rained again later that night. The contract called for a raked finish, not swirly. He tried to talk me into swirly. Said it would look better. I said no. What actually came out was neither swirly or lined but messy, lumpy, dark/light in color, rough; and still, 5-6 month later, is multicolored and has pieces of cement sticking up and breaking off. Looks really strange in the rain. Looks a bit like modern art. It hurts to walk on it in bare feet--my cat's not crazy about walking on it either. I asked Guy to come by to look at it a few days after it was finished--and paid for. He came when I wasn't here and called later and said something vague about how some bush was in the way somehow and the guys couldn't see it and it was shadowy--I didn't get the connection. He also said it would be better once it dried. (This took months--didn't look better) I also asked him then to come by when it wasn't raining, when the sun was out because he could see more what I was talking about. He said he would not come by when the weather was good because he has other jobs he needs to do in the dry weather!! (Too bad he didn't have the same consideration for my job.) I see this company has very good marks with Angie's List, so I am thoroughly mystified by all of this. They were not cheap and this was a major investment and I'm stuck with a lousy-looking driveway. It's disappointing when a contractor doesn't acknowledge errors or problems and tries to make it seem like the customer is wrong.

I found the Gaetano Cement Contractors on Angie's after asking unsuccessfully for references (who did not respond) from friends. I was attracted to the company because it is in my community and he employed a crew while others subbed out. Guy arrived in a timely manner after my request for an estimate. He left his card and an e-mail with a detailed estimate. His estimate was in line with 2 others, but included more surface area for the front walk. Guy was willing to begin work that Friday which would mean an extra weekend without drive/garage access. Guy realized the issues of being on a main street and offered to rearrange his schedule to begin work the following Monday. Work took about 21/2 days. Workers arrived on time each day and completed more than I expected on the first day! After inspection, concrete was pour early the 2nd day. Clean up was great. The entire crew was helpful and courteous, making this experience a pleasant one. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Gaetano did an outstanding job replacing our driveway and service walk. Guy got back to me very quickly after my initial call and was helpful throughout the whole process, calling or stopping by several times to discuss details and answer our questions (and we had a lot of them!) We had some ideas for changes we wanted to make with the new driveway (making it bigger, adding a new channel drain at the garage entrance, building a curb along our flower bed, etc.) and Guy offered plenty of suggestions on the best way to do things. When he came across what he called "the strangest drain I've ever seen" where we had hoped to tie in the new channel drain, he was upfront about the best and worst case scenarios and their costs depending on what they found during tear out and what the city would allow. The crew that did the tear out, forming and placing got here bright and early each day, worked very fast and did a great job despite the 90?+ temperatures. In the end, we got a great new driveway and service walk that are exactly what we wanted, were done quickly and at a price that was one of the lowest among the estimates we received.

We were in a time bind because of an upcoming wedding to be held at our residence -- Gaetano's were very accommodating in fitting us into their schedule quickly. Unfortunately for them, the weather was scorching hot during this project, but they were able to keep it moving -- at one point, they added some retarder to the cement so they could still work in the hot weather. The crew worked well together, with a good esprit de corps. The foreman would frequently jump right in there with all the others. Guy prepared me for what was to happen each day, consulted me if any decisions had to be made, and addressed all my concerns. Although it was a fairly big job and the weather was very hot, they were still able to complete it in a timely manner, and it looks great. They went above and beyond in smoothing some dirt and spreading some gravel in other work I was doing. Afterwards I was sent all the documentation regarding the job in a timely manner. All in all, I felt I got a quality job done professionally at a fair price in a timely manner. I would definitely use this company again.

The team was very professional and all work was done according to code. We have difficult neighbors on the driveway side but Gaetano's men handled them politely. We are very pleased with the new driveway and with our experience with the team that put it in. We would highly recommend them.

Guy did a great job with our new stamped patio. He was a great with helping us decide the shape, design and colors to achieve the look we wanted. The job was done timely and on budget and we were kept infomed every step of the way.

Guy called the same day I left an email inquiry on the company website. We received a detailed estimate via email a couple of days later. The work was completed within 3 weeks of our initial contact. Guy and his crew were very polite, professional, efficient and neat. We were amazed at Joe's precision work with the backhoe in removing the old driveway. Once the new driveway was poured, we only had a few inches of lawn that needed to be repaired. Guy explained the process and work schedule from start to finish and kept us updated. We selected the company based upon the extremely favorable reviews from past customers, and we were not disappointed. We highly recommend them.

We were very pleased with Gaetano's service from start to finish. Guy came out for measurements and design consultation, and we got a formal quote within a day or two. They started work on a Monday and finished on Thursday (one day was for city inspection). They were careful to disturb as little of the lawn as possible during demolition. They put down a foundation of tamped limestone and added wire mesh as reinforcement. Poured concrete, sealed, and removed forms in one day. Finished product is high quality - looks great, even to a perfectionist. They followed up by phone and e-mail to ensure we were happy with the results. Guy and his team were friendly, responsive, and professional. I would recommend this company. One of the best aspects of the service was that Guy will take the time to listen to what you have to say, and he makes sure your questions are answered and your expectations are set. There are a lot of shady contractors out there, but these guys are the real deal.

Project went very well. Guy was very helpful through the bidding process and actual work.

When it would rain the water would backup into my garage so we had to raise the driveway and put in a drain. When I called him he called me back in a day. He was very prompt, made suggestions and listened to me. He was always on time and did the work in the time he indicated he would. I thought the price was okay, I have an old house so I am not surprised when unforeseen things come up.

Very helpful, gave us a good price and good information, we are just postponing the project until the spring.

Guy DeFini is a first rate contractor in every respect. He is a seasoned professional and a skilled craftsman who knows his business inside out, is extremely personable, responsible, honest and always available. When the job had to be postponed due to rain, he called and kept us updated on his projected start-date. Our job was big, and Guy was there every step of the way, working alongside his employees and closely supervising them. He communicated with us CONSTANTLY before, during and after the job, explaining the entire process and providing status reports. He told us repeatedly that we could call him anytime with questions and even told us his schedule so that we could always reach him if we needed to. The job was top-notch; we are extremely happy with the result and will recommend Guy and his company to everyone we know.

Guy was AWESOME! He was speedy in returning the initial call. Quickly provided a quote both verbally then in writing via e-mail. Guy was exceptionally accommodating particularly considering he was finishing a project that the contractor I had for the plumbing was suppose to complete. I wasn't a BIG job customer, but he treated me like I was worth a million bucks. You get a sense that he treats ALL customers with respect along with providing good quality work regardless of the size of the job. I was HIGHLY impressed with Gaetano Cement.

Guy had poured my driveway earlier in the summer and had done an excellent job. After I finished installing a new deck, we needed a landing pad to get us from the driveway to the deck. I decided to do it myself and called Guy to ask if I could get some help with the finish. Guy was happy to help, he even said he would come over on a Sunday to help me and save me some money. However, some scheduling problems came up and he couldn't make it. Instead, he offered to pour the pad and finish it so it would match the driveway. It happened the next week and it looks great. Overall, Guy is a great person to work with, always manages to hit deadlines and charges a fair price. I highly recommend him, I mean honestly how could I not? He offered to come on a Sunday to help save me money!

The work crew arrived on time on the day they promised...a big plus! They were very careful. They kept everything as neat as possible throughout the day. The cement was poured and they did a beautiful job making the driveway look special. It added to the beauty of our home. They returned to clean and seal the drive as promised.

There were a couple of problems that popped up and he came right away to fix the problems. He didn't take the cheap way out; he took the more expensive route. I was really impressed with him. I plan to use him again for another project.
