Description of Work: Repair of an exhaust system in which one of the sections of pipe had failed near the engine.

Description of Work: Repaired rusted through parts of muffler on car by cutting out and welding new pipe in. |It went very well. They were able to fit me in unannounced, able to accommodate a specific request, treated me with professional courtesy and respect.

Description of Work: Do you need an HONEST auto service??? I have been using this Muffler Brothers location since December 19, 2007. That $5609.00 figure for how much I spent with them is the total that my Quicken software tells me I've spent for service on 3 different cars since then during about 30 different times I've taken our cars in to them. The cars have been a 1995 Saturn SL-2 (sold 2 years ago), a 2002 Saturn L-200, and a 1993 Lexus LS-400 . I had to search hard to find an __honest__ auto service and repair, which THEY ARE. The first time I used this Muffler Brothers I asked for a quote on a brake job another company (Gateway Auto Clinic on Wilmington Pike), first told me I needed, and Muffler Brothers said I didn't need any brake work. That was the first GOOD SIGN! They did a muffler replacement on that same car (the 1995 Saturn SL-2) for $285 and I had quotes from other companies for $410 (from another muffler place that use to be at Wilmington & Dorothy), and $1200 (from Gateway). Since then, this Muffler Brothers has done all the regular schedule lube/filter/oil changes on our two cars. They also have taken care of a power antenna replacement on my Lexus when I forgot to lower it at a car wash, 4 new tires on the SL-2, a fuel pump replacement on the L-200 when I had to have it towed there after it quit on my wife as she was heading to work, a rear brake job and parking brake cable on the L-200, several batteries for the cars -- including 2 completely free warranty replacements, sway bar links on the L-200, a right front wheel bearings on the L-200 (it was in an accident on I-75, which damaged the front-right and right side, the first year we owned it in 2002 and I think that's why just about everything that goes wrong with it seems to be in these areas), 2 headlamp bulb replacements on the Lexus, and a couple other odds and ends like fixing a terribly squeaky door that needed a new 'link' on the L-200, a new front driver seat fore/aft motor and switch (from a salvage yard as Lexus doesn't make them any longer) for the LS-400, an AC condenser replacement on the L-200, etc., etc. I have gotten to know Doug, the owner, now and have been quite happy with his service, and most of all with their honesty and fair pricing. If they are doing work for me I KNOW it is something that either needs done or that I want done. Period!

Description of Work: I went to the shop because i needed new plug wires installed because i had a miss in the cylinder & it was interfering with acceleration. I was quoted a fair price. Went into the shop and everyone was friendly. Waited about an hour & a half and my car was finished. Get into the car to drive off... Got half a mile down the road & the problem was still there but WORSE!. unfortunately the shop had closed so i wasn't able to take it back. Next day i took it to another mechanic and they checked the wires & put a scanner on to find the problem. Well needless to say, the wires had been installed INCORRECTLY which caused the problem to be worse than it was when i brought it to them. I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. Unfortunately i don't have money to just throw away. As a consumer you trust that people in service industries perform their job as they say. Fix what needs to be fixed &DO IT RIGHT. I had to pay an additional amount to fix what MUFFLER BROTHERS should have fixed right the 1st time.

Description of Work: Most recently, minor engine tuneup on my 1994 Ford Ranger truck. Have also had brake work done on this same vehicle.
