Description of Work: This was the second time I used the services of this company. Previously I had them due a furnace tune-up and this time the air conditioning. Both times the service was timely, friendly, professional and courteous. | |My one quibble, as noted in my previous review, is that this was an Angies List Big Deal priced at $59.95. As such, that's the price I expected to pay. At the completion of the job I was billed $4.44 for the tax on the $59.99 (because the offer was pre-tax - which hopefully was mentioned somewhere in the offer, I didn't notice), another $5.00 for "Energy Management" (whatever that is) plus tax on the Energy Management for a total of $10.20 above the advertised price. Energy Management is a line item on the invoice and the $5.00 charge is pre-printed, meaning it's always added to any service. I can see the tax on the job, but the additional $5.76 for "Energy Management" seems deceptive and just rankles me. | |Had the offer simply been priced at $70.00 all inclusive I would most likely have taken it anyway and been happy with the price, but the undisclosed add-ons leave a bad taste in my mouth. For only this reason I have downrated them for Professionalism and harbor some reservations about using this company again.

The “BP Residential Heating and Cooling family takes great pride in the quality of workmanship and the more personal customer care approach that we give to our customers along with competitive prices. In regards to your review I would like to take a moment to share our thoughts on some of your concerns to bring some understanding to light. Promotions via Angies List or any other similar vender that we’ve used have informed us that they do not and would not collect sales tax on the purchased price therefore; it would be our reasonability under the New York State tax law as a business to do so. We have asked our venders we’ve used to add that information in the advertisement(s) so that our customers are better informed. As of yet they have not. We agree with you on this concern and will continue to work with our venders to get this important information added to our future promotions . In regards to the $5.00 Energy Management charge that is printed on each invoice. Why do we charge for this? To continue to be very competitive in our market and to provide the quality of workmanship customers expects and the highest level of customer care that we provide all at better prices; We have implemented (since the beginning) and continue to use this Energy Management service fee. How it’s used This small charge allows us to help our customers with the small quick repairs and or fixes at no charge (where others will charge for every little fix.) and helps us with the high cost of fuel. A good example would be that we have not raised our furnace cleaning and safety inspection prices, service call along with most of our commonly uses items in the past 4 years; in turn saving you and all our customers more over the competitors. Furthermore; we conduct a market cost assessment on commonly used components thereby allowing us to continue to be very competitive. We also have create a program call “Competitors Pricing Challenge” which mean that if you find it for less we will review and beat competitors price not just meet it; so far no one has taken the challenge which leads us to believe that we are doing our homework. We are locally owned, small family heating and air conditioning contractor that remains just that and will continue to provide the highest level of Quality, Customer Care at better prices” for all our new and existing customers. Description of Work: They conducted a thorough inspection of our air conditioner. While the deal was for cleaning and winterizing the air conditioning unit, they also inspected the heater and related A/C equipment in the basement. We were very impressed by their thoroughness and professionalism. We asked them to return for additional services and I'm sure we'll be very satisfied with those as well.

Description of Work: IMMEDIATELY responded; had outstanding staff (Carolyn) at office, professionally assessed, explained & repaired problem and went above and beyond duties, based on an added concern I had. Price was OUTSTANDING.
