I like Lowe's and my shopping experience was good. I think they're able to give you more attention than their competitor.

The process has gotten off to a rocky start. I will keep you posted. 

Started off really well. Found a couple of mistakes that the contractor quickly fixed. The sink drain kept leaking and damaged the cabinet floor but after it was fixed, it's been fine. The worst thing was that the so called designer (Michal) measured wrong and I couldn't open the dishwasher door all the way. Of course, this was the very last thing to go in which created a big headache with not many options unless I wanted to rearrange and pull out some of the cabinets. After months of having my house in an uproar, I didn't want to do that. Lowe's management were actually pretty obliging and the contractor as well, but Michal kept blaming me even though her design was in black and white!!! She caused me so much stress, I had my husband deal with her and Lowe's after that. The only good thing is that Lowe's wants the customer to be happy and will fix any problem, but why go through that in the first place if you don't have to. Check around other kitchen design centers and stay away from the big box stores. In the end, my kitchen turned out beautifully and I am now doing the bathroom using Bennett Contracting since it was rated so highly with all the reviewers on Angie's List.

Terrible! Ordered windows in July '08. First order by Millwork "specialist", Les, was ordered the wrong color. The second attempt, windows came without grills - BETWEEN THE GLASS PANES!; the third order came with some of the windows the wrong sizes. Here it is the end of January '09 and the installation is finally finished - not in time for the winter cold. The installer was also below professional grade. The other big box hardware store is looking better every day!

Contractor arrived with 3 of 4 doors. We were told that we never paid for the 4th. I called Lowe's to straighten things out and found that the door was in the backroom. Lowe's requested that the contractor pick-up it up, they said no, they wanted Lowe's to deliver it. After a long conversation the contractor agreed to pick it up. One of the storm doors was not the one we requested. After another call to Lowe's we were able to come to a mutual agreement and we kept the door. After the 3 doors that were on-site were installed we found out that the keys only worked in 1 of 3 locks. We paid Lowe's to re-key them so they all worked together. Lowe's requested that I bring them in to be fixed but I could not do this because I had no way to secure my home. After another conversation with Lowe's the contractor agreed to bring the locks in when they went to pick-up the missing door. Upon his return he decided he was not going to be able to finish the job as planned. He said he was frustrated with all the problems we experienced and just wasn't up to it (it was also 4:30 on a Friday). He installed the new locks and left for the day. The contractor wanted to come back on Monday but I was not available until Friday. They called me on Monday saying they'll be there on Wednesday and I had to tell them once again that I was not available until Friday. They finally located someone else to come and complete the work. The installation of the last door went smoothly. The screen on one of the storm doors was damaged and the blind kit for another door was broken and had to re-ordered. The replacement was the wrong size. We are still waiting for the replacement screen and blind kit to come in. In summary, the doors are nice and work as they should. My disappointment lies with Lowe's. Lowe's should have double-checked that all items were on the truck before the contractor left the store. They should have tested the keys in the lock before letting me leave the store with them. My ratings are based on my experience with Lowe's and not on the contractor who performed the installation.

THE PEOPLE THAT WORKED FOR THEM WERE PLEASANT. THEY RESPOND TO ANY QUESTION. WHEN THEY COME AND DO THEIR WORK, THEY'RE VERY EFFICIENT, THEY GET THE JOB DONE. THE DOORS LOOK PRETTY GOOD, THEY'RE NOT FALLING OFF THE HINGES OR ANYTHING. IT'S AESTHETICALLY PLEASING.

IT WAS FINE. THERE IS NOTHING REALLY TO SAY ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. IT COULD HAVE BEEN CHEAPER. THERE WERE PLACES WITH THE FLOORING WHERE THE PICTURE DIDN'T COME OUT RIGHT.

THE SERVICE WAS GOOD, I GOT WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. THE QUALITY OF WORK WAS GOOD. THE PEOPLE THAT CAME IN WERE COMPETENT. THE PRICE WAS WHAT I EXPECTED.

I HAD A LITTLE BIT OF TROUBLE WITH THE ORIGINAL ORDER, SO I HAD TO WAIT A MONTH FOR THE INSTALLATION. WHEN THEY GOT HERE, THE INSTALLATION WENT VERY QUICKLY. THEY DID A GOOD JOB.

I ASSUMED THEY WOULD WORK FROM 8 TO 5, INSTEAD THEY WERE HERE ALL HOURS OF THE EVENING UNTIL 11. THEY DIDN'T SEEM VERY PROFESSIONAL. THE QUALITY WAS FAIR. WE HAD TO HAVE THEM COME BACK AND FIX A COUPLE OF THINGS, BUT IT WAS AVERAGE.
