Mark Fanning gave me a fair price and he's a pleasure to work with. He seems very competent and he's friendly. Also very responsive. If it was just Mark I'd give straight A's. His employee, who actually did the electric work, I'm giving B's. Still a nice guy, but not quite as sharp as Fanning. I also didn't like that he was messy, e.g. leaving holes unpatched and trash on the floor. But that may be expecting too much.

First day appointment delayed, which was understandable as our work was not an emergency and something else was more urgent. Very professional. I would definitely use Fanning Electric again, and plan to in the future.

The electrician showed up as scheduled. I told him I noticed the problem as I was installing dimmers for some lightswitches in my apartment. He rolled his eyes and laughed as I guess because I'm a woman I had no business attempting it and probably caused the problem myself. When he realized this was not the case he went about the business of fixing the wire. He said it was fixed but when I tried the switch it did not work. Morover, it affected a switch in another room. He attempted it a second time, this time finding the cracked wire. As he was fixing it, he dropped inner wire inside the wall. To retrieve it, he had to cut a 3" x 6" hole in the wall that I had to fix myself. While the electrical problem was ultimately solved, I feel it could have gone better.

Estimate came quickly, work was scheduled and done quickly. I was told it was an all day job so they needed to get started early. They sent one guy who arrived on time and finished in 4 hours. Cost: $865.00. That's $216 per hour. Work was sloppy; I ended up doing sheetrock repairs in all three rooms. Dining room: new electrical box installed. Hole was cut sloppily and too large. When I later installed fixture, I found that I had to patch the hole around the edges because fixture didn't cover it. This was a brand new hole- he could have cut it to fit the box more closely instead of cutting it oversized. Guest Bedroom: He cut a hole in the wall and did the worst patch job imaginable, which I could never paint over. So I had to undo it and patch over again. He drilled several holes in the ceiling, presumably so he could go into the attic and see where his drill bit came out. Master Bedroom: Drilled 3 more holes into the ceiling just for reference. Damaged the sheetrock/paint around the lightswitch. I'm still fixing all of the damage. Bottom line: Way overpriced and sloppy work.

called several companies in the area fanning scheduled for the day and time requested the electrician was late because he was held up on another job- this was frustrating but understandable he came with all the materials he needed and completed the job quicly.

They were great! They replaced the insulated attachments and mounting pulls to attach the line to the house. They were pretty expensive but they did a good job.

They were excellent electricians, but very expensive. I would use this company again in the future.

$155 for a half hour. I thought that he was fine. The price was high and I chose this company b/c they have all A's with AL and they had no complaints with the BBB. They were not the least expensive by any means. He was very courteous. I wouldn't use them again b/c of the price.

It was a tough job for several different reasons, and they handled it all very well. They came right away and gave us an estimate that seemed perfect. They cleaned up really well and all in all I was very pleased.

Everything was excellent. The prices were almost the absolute best price I got, and was almost half of some of the other estimates. I was very impressed by the fact that the owner himself came out to do the estimate, and I have only good things to say about them.

The main circuit breaker went off, and I made an appointment 2 days later. The technician was great and on time. They found a circuit breaker that needed replaced. They assured me that it should take care of the problem, and so far it has.

Everyone I had to deal with was professional and courteous. From Keona, the receptionist, who was very pleasant, then Brian who came over for the estimate, and finally John the electrician and his assistant Lou. Even Carl who I spoke to on the phone about the light we were putting in was helpful. We have had other people in to do electrical work that contractors sent and they were bad news. My neighbor used an electrician advertised in the newspaper (I noticed the name on the van). I asked her about it and she said no good. I can say finding Fanning Electric is four stars or thumbs up (you chose). They were on time, the price $1,674 (after Angie's List discount) was reasonable. Only thing they neglected to tell us was they don't remove the existing rubbish. Also, you should know that when the job is finished, you need to pay them in full immediately right then and there. I truly believe if you use Fanning Electric to do your job you can feel safe that it was done right.

Of the three companies I called, only Fanning replied. The owner came out promptly to see the work. He was pleasant and responsive to my questions. The proposal was mailed within the week. It took several weeks to organize the next phase, due, I think to newly hired office staff. I scheduled the work. The electrician arrived two hours late with no call. He worked well but slowly. He arrived two hours late the second day and worked okay but didn't finish as expected or indicated. I had to rearrange my schedule to be home a few days later. On the third day, he showed up on time and completed the work to my satisfaction. He left the house swept. They were pleasant to deal with though the time thing is an annoyance to say the least.

Fanning Electric is a little more expensive but they do super high quality work. Their knowledge of older and antique houses puts them above the competition. I find them to be very dependable, clean and courteous.

THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL AND RELIABLE. THEY WERE EXCELLENT AND EXPERIENCED. THEY WERE ALSO KNOWLEDGEABLE. I ASKED THEM A QUESTION, AND THEY EXPLAINED IT TO ME. IF I DID NOT UNDERSTAND, THEN THEY RE-EXPLAINED IT. THEY WERE VERY CLEAN AND DID NOT LEAVE ME A MESS. THAT IS IMPORTANT TO ME.
